Story
Coco came to Elmore SPCA after his owner lost their housing. He is a busybody who needs lots of mental stimulation. But he is also a dog who loves to snuggle up and relax. If you are looking for the perfect hiking or running partner, we think Coco would be a great fit. He is affectionate, eager to please, and we believe he is a dog that will bond very strongly to his person. Being around other dogs with high energy seems to give him some anxiety, so we feel he will be selective about other dogs in his home, or would be best being the only dog. We also have it on good authority that he believes Zuke's Deli makes the best subs in town.If you are interested in meeting his handsome guy, please stop by the shelter to say hi! ***Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet inquiries are not monitored by Elmore SPCA*****Shelter hours are Monday - Saturday, Noon to 4pm****Applications, as well as personal references may be electronically submitted from our website at www.elmorespca.org/adoptionapp.html. **>>Due to the heavy load of adoption applications received processing of applications can take up to 7-14 business days.

Story
Meet Ryleigh Ryleigh is a 1-year-old Pit Bull mix with a stunning brown merle coat. He’s a sweet soul who has had a rough start and been bounced around, so we don’t have much history on him. At first, Ryleigh can be very shy, and that sometimes looks like reactivity—but underneath, he’s just a dog who needs time, patience, and understanding. He thrives in a home with structure and consistency. Ryleigh may do well with another dog, but any introductions should be slow and careful. We don’t have experience with cats or kids, and given his energy and sensitivity, he’d likely do best in an adult-only home. If you’re looking for a loyal companion and are willing to put in the work to help him feel safe and confident, Ryleigh could be your perfect match.

Story
Bowser is a 3-year-old black and white Pitbull with splotches of brown. He is a dog with a big heart and a strong, loving personality. He came to us as a stray alongside another dog, so we know he can have doggy friends—but slow introductions will be important to set him up for success. Bowser doesn’t have a known history with cats or kids, but he seems curious rather than aggressive. Shelter life has been stressful for him, and he can appear tense at first—but give him a chance, and you’ll see his sweet, affectionate side shine through. He listens well to gentle corrections on walks and is eager to please. Bowser is ready for a patient, loving home where he can relax and thrive. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who just needs a little time to show his true colors, Bowser could be your perfect match!
