Story
Hi! I'm Kahlua (6F). I LOVE attention, snuggling, kisses, and fetch. I'm looking for someone with a big yard to play in who doesn't mind having me as the only animal in their house. I have so much love for my people that I can be very protective which unfortunately makes me unsociable to other animals. My underbite and big ears make me a big cutie and you'll never have to sweep in the kitchen ever again! - Kahlua was adopted into a home with another pup, who she was great friends with for years. As she has started to age, her anxiety and behavioral issues have increased. She went through a long training program and has some solid general obedience skills, but she has unfortunately proven unable to share her home with another animal with these developments. For both dogs sake, I am sadly looking to rehome her where she can be the center of attention. She is an incredibly affectionate (to humans) pup and when she looks at you with her big eyes you'll know she loves you. -

Story
Kingsley is an endearing, loving, energetic dog. He comes from down south, with no knowledge of what his life was like in his young life. We adopted Kingsley 2 years ago. He’s a beautiful addition to our family, close with our kids and our other dogs. He is capable of becoming friends with other dogs and humans with assistance (very treat motivated). He is very protective of his home and his food. In most cases, this can be an excellent quality. Unfortunately, we live on a busy road with many neighbors. He has a history of nipping the kids in our community and biting the dogs of others. He barks often throughout the day due to the sounds and excitement in our area.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. SMELLERBEE was saved from a kill shelter in Georgia and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5 April 2024. He along with 3 other pitties that he was saved with are extremely emaciated with pressure sores that they are currently on medications for, Smellerbee is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. He has an estimated date of birth of 4 April 2023 and in April 2024 weighed of 35 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. This sweet boy has a lot of healing to do, but is so loving and gentle. He needs an extra special family who can give him the life he deserves and help him forget the abuse, neglect and starvation he has suffered. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue   YouTube channel   and   photo albums on our Facebook page   to see a LOT of pictures and videos. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. Smellerbee is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for a  reduced adoption  fee of $550. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838 HOUSE TRAINED - All of our dogs are located in the kennel building so we are not able to say if a dog is house-trained, however, they do have access and use the dog door to access their run, play area 24/7. FOOD - We feed a variety of high quality brands and flavors including, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb and fish generally alternated daily. CATS - We do not have cats in the kennels and are not able to say how our dogs are with cats.
