Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. We are helping the family who found Ramble several months ago.  Here’s what she had to say about this sweetheart! Ramble is a big goofball! I believe he is a year old or right under, intact male but will be neutered prior to adoption. He is sweet, full of energy, good with kids, loves other dogs (curious about cats but hasn’t been aggressive) He loves being outside, running, playing fetch and would do best with someone with a active lifestyle. Ramble is crate trained, knows how to sit and is house broken. He also loves to come inside with people and give snuggles! If you are looking for a best buddy to run with, hike with or have tons of adventures with Ramble is your man! * This dog's adoption fee is $200Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in this animal? The first step is an application, which can be completed at www.cvrrescue.org/adoption-applications/. The adoption fee helps cover a portion of the care provided for our animals, including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing for dogs, FeLV/FIV combo testing for cats, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines (including rabies vaccine), and any medical care received while in our care. All cats and dogs are on flea/tick and parasite prevention for the duration of foster care. Notes about puppies: Adopters can expect a new puppy to have accidents, chew things they shouldn't, and have other normal, energetic puppy issues until they are trained, including jumping, mouthing, and general youthful naughtiness. If you experience puppy issues, please feel free to contact us; we’re happy to offer guidance. Also, if a puppy is a mixed breed, we cannot guarantee an adult weight. If your residence has weight restrictions or if you’re looking for a specific adult weight, we don't recommend applying for a mixed-breed puppy. We also offer rehoming services for pets currently owned by individuals. In these cases, we list the animal as a courtesy to the owner, and the animal is not currently in the care of CVRR, such that we can make no representation or guarantee of the animal’s behavior, demeanor, or health assessment. All information listed for a courtesy-posted animal is provided by the current owner and should be verified by any potential adopter. CVRR is a nonprofit organization. We have no paid staff, and all applications are reviewed and processed by our volunteers. Please be patient and understand that it may take 7-14 days to process your application, check your references, and gather follow-up info. You can expedite the process by providing accurate phone numbers and email addresses for your vet and landlord references, and by answering each question fully. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the animal picks you, too. If it seems the adoption will be a good match for all, we will collect the adoption fee and complete the adoption contract. CVRR is a NO KILL rescue organization, and we have a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to all of our animals. If for any reason the adoption does not work out, the animal must be returned to CVRR. We will reevaluate the animal and choose a new home based on the best fit for it. April 11, 2024, 10:17 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Enzo is an old soul who has the sweetest disposition. His eyes show his deep desire for connection with humans. He has come so far since being in his foster home. He was pulled from a local shelter who rescued him from a life on his own, having very little human contact as a young puppy. Enzo trusts and loves other dogs very much and is learning not all humans wish to cause him harm. He is attached to his foster family (adults and children) and trusts them. Despite his days being full of learning new things, he has been so sweet and patient considering everything is a new experience. Enzo initially did not like being put on a leash, but after taking long daily leash walks with his foster family, he has come to love them and walks with his tail held high.  Enzo would love to have a K9 companion and is very close to his foster brother, Luca. They would love to be adopted together.  Enzo's pictures are deceiving. He is a petite guy at only 40lbs. Enzo is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, tested heartworm negative and on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.  * This dog's adoption fee is $275Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in this animal? You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Domino will make your heart glad. This splashy, 45 lb, All-American Mutt keeps a constant smile on his face.Sometimes, he'll flash you his special grin. He will definitely show you how to have fun, because his favorite thing is playing. He is as happy chasing a ball as he is enjoying a treat-stuffed Kong. Take him on a hike and he may outlast you. He walks well on lead when asked. After a day of fun, there is nothing he will like more than some snuggle time.Domino is flowing over with love and brimming with youthful energy. Domino is excited about learning and wants to please (knows sit, wait, learning to twirl on cue). This boy would likely do great in competitive dog sports like Agility, Fly Ball, Tracking, etc. He is an athlete and lover of life.Fabulous update: Domino recently visited an elementary school classroom and taught the children how much he enjoyed being around them. Domino showed them what good doggie manners look like. He delighted the kids and they delighted him.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.    April 12, 2024, 6:24 am

Story
Are you looking for a hiking or running buddy? Well, the name's Katmai and I'm an active Boxer mix that is looking for a buddy that will let me be their partner in crime in all of their adventures! I came to SVASC as a stray and unfortunately, was never reclaimed. I'm not letting that affect my spirit, though, because I'm like, the happiest gal in the world! I love meeting new people and haven't met a stranger yet. I love going for walks and find that it makes an amazing opportunity to say "hi" to everyone that we cross paths with. I'm a happy-go-lucky gal, who would make the best buddy for someone that is looking for an active companion that will shower them in kisses daily and love them unconditionally. My adoption fee is $175, which covers all of my vetting. If you would like more information on me, please give SVASC a call at (540) 943-5142, email SVASC at ewiles@co.augusta.va.us, or stop by during open hours and ask for Katmai!

Story
Hey party people! My name is Jellyfish, but you can just can just go ahead and start calling me "the best dog in the whole wide world," if ya want! I am a 3-5 year old gal, who came to SVASC when my previous family was unable to keep me. I can take a bit to warm up to new folks and do like to take my time getting to know new friends, but once I know and trust you, man am I a ham! I love to go for walks, play outside, and especially love rolling around on my back for tummy rubs! When I'm happy, I have the best zoomies and just love to race around the yard and then come back for kisses. I am food motivated and very eager to please, so I pick up on new tricks and commands quickly. I am good with other dogs that are my size or larger; please bring them along to meet me when you come to visit! I would do best in a calmer home with 1-2 other dogs or being in the spotlight. I am a star, after all! I do walk very nicely on leash and I do appear to be house-trained. Plus, with me by your side, you'll never feel alone again! My adoption fee is SPONSORED to an approved adopter! All of my vetting has been taken care of and I'm ready to go home. If you would like more information on me, please give SVASC a call at (540) 943-5142, email SVASC at ewiles@co.augusta.va.us, or stop by during open hours and ask for Jellyfish!

Story
Move over, Bullwinkle, because there's a new Moose in town! Hi, I'm Moose, and I am speaking to you from my stuffed animal bunker at SVASC. Currently, I am surrounded by 10+ stuffies, none of which I have destroyed and all of which I cherish, so I will do my best to keep my attention on writing this profile with high hopes that it might lead me to you, my forever buddy! I might be on the other side of 15 years old, but I can still show up the youngsters with my random bouts of warp speed zoomies and youthful exuberance. My energy level is usually just about average, so that means I don't require a ton of exercise, but a good walk sounds just fine to me. I don't mean to brag, but cuddling and showering people in affection are kind of my areas of expertise. I'm great at gauging appropriate energy levels to have around different kinds of people. I know when to ask for tummy rubs or when to really let loose and throw a rumpus. I am truly happiest when I am snuggled up on the couch with a stuffy and a good Netflix special. I only have one tiny special need. Sometimes, my eyes, paws, and ears get red and itchy from allergies. I need grain-free dog food so I can be my best Moose for you! I would be the best match for a home where I can really be the star of the show and not have to share the red carpet with other animals or young kiddos. My adoption fee is $175 and all of my vetting has been completed. If you would like more information on me, please give SVASC a call at (540) 943-5142, email SVASC at ewiles@co.augusta.va.us. I am currently in foster care, so please call ahead and ask about Moose!
