Story
Meet Ruby!Ruby is an adorable medium sized mixed breed dog that was surrendered to our care due to needing medical attention. When Ruby came to use she had a damaged eye that we were hoping to save but unfortunately we were unable to save it so it was recently removed. Despite having an eye removed Ruby is the happiest dog and all she wants in this world is love. She enjoys being around all people, has done well with other dogs and cats, and we feel she would be good with kids. We were told Ruby is 2 - 3 years old, and she weighs approximately 30 pounds. If you are looking for a cuddle buddy this winter Ruby would be a great addition to any home!If interested in adopting Ruby please fill out an application online by going to this link: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/RAB/Dog

Story
Meet Donny!Donny is a handsome black and white Pitbull mix that came into our care due to a neglect situation. Despite where he came from he is a very sweet boy that loves to be around people, go for walks, play, and snuggle! Donny currently weighs around 40 - 45 pounds and we are estimating him to be 3 - 4 years old. Donny did come in with another dog and he seems to enjoy her company, but honestly he seems to prefer people over other animals. He does seem to know some basic commands, but could still use some work on leash manners and controlling his excitement when meeting new people. Donny just has so much love to give to a family and we know he will make someone a great companion! If interested in adopting Donny please fill out an application online by going to this link: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/RAB/Dog

Lives with foster siblings. Please apply for me at https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HFAH/Dog (403644-DS) Due to the amount of no shows we are now requiring a $50 deposit. If you adopt this will come off your adoption fee. If you meet and it’s not a good fit you will be refunded. If you cancel or no show it’s non refundable. **Meet and greets for approved applicants must happen within 3 days or the closest weekend (for long travelers). It’s in the dogs/puppies best interest to be placed into their furever homes in a timely fashion. All household members (dogs & humans) must attend the meet and greet. Sweet Tilly wants nothing more than to please her humans. She’s the best cuddler and gives the nicest kisses. It is obvious that Tilly fell into hard times before she was adopted, but that has never stopped her from the belief that there are no strangers, only friends. Tilly is wary of dominate dogs, but absolutely loves her foster siblings and can co-exist with other dogs. She is playful, energetic and loves walks & car rides. Tilly is the unfortunate product of a breed that gets judged too quickly without giving them a chance, plus she’s black and the least desirable color for adoptable dogs. Tilly was returned to HFAH due to tragic family changes. They are devastated and want only the best for her.

My name is Ginny. I came to the shelter from another shelter a few years ago already. I am a lovely gal that just needs to be your one and only. I don't mind a leisurely walk, but then love to snuggle on my bed or couch. I am able to cover myself with my blankets perfectly!

Story
Meet Tinsel! Tinsel is approximately 5-6 years old and is thought to be an American Staffordshire Mix. Tinsel is an incredibly sweet girl with a gentle soul. She's had a rough life before this, so we're hoping to find her an understanding and loving family who can give her a peaceful and happy life. She already knows "Sit" and "Down", she takes treats really gently, and we're told she should do well around other dogs & kids as long as everyone is properly introduced and supervised. (we do not yet know how she'd do with cats as we're not sure if she's met any yet) Tinsel appears to be potty trained, but a refresher course may be helpful as she adjusts to the new routine in her new home. Tinsel is perfect for someone who wants a dog active enough to walk everyday, but cuddly enough to hang out indoors on a dreary day. She's such a lovable girl who can't wait to settle into a loving family of her own! Tinsel is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Her adoption fee is $200. We are doing all meet n' greets BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an adoption application has been approved: https://www.co.monroe.wi.us/home/showpublisheddocument/35564 *Please email this application back to monroecountydogshelter@gmail.com

Story
Zion is a young female pittie mix who found herself at a high volume kill shelter where dogs get euthanized daily. When it was her turn, we rescued her and what a good save she was. She is a pocket pittie, i.e. small in size for the breed, and great with other dogs and also with cats. She is playful and loving and will be your best friend. She does well in a crate too. She is currently still in Oklahoma where she was rescued but she can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take her in or she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) Vetting: spayed, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection. heartworm tested (negative) Adoption fee: $550 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95
