Story
***Don't pass me by! I am free to adopt the entire month of April! Carmen is a spunky 11 year old! She loves to kiss faces and roll around to get her belly rubbed. She has a huge smile and an even bigger heart! Carmen is house trained, crate trained and gets along well with other dogs. She always listens and is very respectful. Carmen loves treats and is very food motivated. Carmen is a goofball. She will, no doubt, wiggle her cute butt right into your heart. Carmen is a true ambassador for the breed and is waiting to fill that empty spot in your home. She wanted to chase cats the first time we showed her them. It's probably best if she goes to a kitty-free home. She may not jump a fence due to her age, but in her early years she had jumped fences, so a 6' fence is recommended. Carmen can get over zealous about her ball and sometimes get a bit too close to your hand when playing. She doesn't mean any harm by this, but we recommend no kiddos under 5, due to that mouthiness when she gets focused on her ball. Don't wait! Apply today!

Story
Meet Miss Livvy! She is a graduate of our P.A.C.K. Program, a 9-week intensive program for routine obedience, agility, and handling training with a prison inmate trainer and she is ready to show off her new skills! Her new abilities include 'sit', 'down', 'shake' and more! New adopters should realize that PACK Program graduates will require regular, ongoing reinforcement of learned behaviors in order for them to become permanent. Livvy loves to love. Once she gets to know you, she'll weasel her way into your heart & couch if you let her. She loves pets and belly rubs. She does well with other dogs, and is best with one on one play sessions. When the play energy rises, she can become a little naughty and sassy. A stern vocal "ahht!" reminds her to chill. She's getting so much better, but still needs reminders from time to time. Due to Livvy's high energy, she shouldn't go to a home with children under 5. She has a tendency to knock them over and play a bit too rough with them. Livvy has worked very hard on her social skills. But, once in a while if she is getting loved on by a human and another dog approaches, she has lifted her lift to tell them to back off. It is manageable, but something new adopters need to be aware of. She does really good in a kennel. She can often be found snoozing in there or chewing on a bone. She may cause bystanders to stop and stare at her adorable cuteness! If her face doesn't catch your attention, her dainty little prance just might! When Livvy met the cat, she was curious and wanted to play. Behind a barrier she did bark at the cat. With slow introductions and constant supervision, she may be able to live with one. She is the cutest girl looking for the best new home! Apply to meet her today!

Story
*** AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION, FOSTER, or FOSTER TO ADOPT *** Meet Penguin! He is currently enrolled in our P.A.C.K. Program, a 9-week intensive program for routine obedience, agility, and handling training with a prison inmate trainer and he is almost ready to show off his new skills! His new abilities include 'sit', 'roll over', 'shake' and more! New adopters should realize that PACK Program graduates will require regular, ongoing reinforcement of learned behaviors in order for them to become permanent. Penguin's PACK program may be cut short due to getting a small hairline fracture in one of his front legs. We are not sure how this happened, but thankfully he should make a full recovery with lots of rest and pain management! He has been just the BEST boy due his PACK time though. Penguin has shown no fear or hesitation in any situation at PACK. Once he was able to release his energy (he was pent up from being in a shelter) he has calmed down and proved he deserves his "good boy" status. When Penguin meets other dogs, he can come on a little strong. He is getting better at appropriately meeting others, but still barks at them from time to time to get their attention and get them engaged. His handler said his qualities for adoption are a list a mile long. He is an extremely loving dog with a quirky personality. He seems to have a wonky smile (weird genetics most likely), so his jaws a little off and goofy. This just adds to his uniqueness. His tongue sticks out to the side of his mouth more often than not. He lets out a cute "booooowooooo" in the morning while he stretches, almost like he's saying "good morning!". While he loves people and likes other dogs, Penguin does not care for cats. He'll need a home that does not have any cats, and does not plan to get any in the future. He was in a shelter way too long before PACK, and we'd love to see him get the home he so deserves! Apply to meet him today!

Story
Introducing Troy, the 7-year-old pitty mix who's stuck in perpetual puppyhood! Despite his senior status, he's still chasing tail and cuddling like a newborn. His love for snuggles extends to strangers, making him the ultimate cozy companion for all! When it comes to playtime, Troy's a pro at tug-of-war and fetch, especially with his prized rubber ball or trusty Kong. Soft toys? More like soft snacks - they vanish faster than you can say "fetch"! But watch out when he steps outside - his nose goes into overdrive with all the fascinating smells! He might pull a little on the leash, but hey, he's just following his nose, right? And when he's happy? His tail whirs like a helicopter, spreading joy like confetti! Indoors, he's content to groove to classical tunes or binge-watch Animal Planet like a true couch potato. He's also the perfect spectator, content to observe your every move with undivided attention. Having Troy around is like having your very own furry cheerleader, and we wish him all the belly rubs and squeaky toys his heart desires! P.S. Don't forget to introduce him to the vacuum - just make sure he's seated first, or you might find yourself in a game of "catch the cleaner"! Meet Boston! Boston is a 3 year old pittie mix. He is a high energy guy who would love an active family who can keep up with him! Boston has lived with kids in the past but he wasn't a big fan of the movement and noise, so older kids are best.  He needs continued positive reinforcement training for the rough edges but is an amazing family dog!April 24, 2024, 7:38 pm

*** AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION, FOSTER, or FOSTER TO ADOPT *** Meet Brussel Sprouts, or Sprouts for short! She is currently enrolled in our P.A.C.K. Program, a 9-week intensive program for routine obedience, agility, and handling training with a prison inmate trainer and she is almost ready to show off her new skills! Her new abilities include 'sit', 'roll over', 'shake' and more! New adopters should realize that PACK Program graduates will require regular, ongoing reinforcement of learned behaviors in order for them to become permanent. Sprouts is a cutie with the best underbite. Sometimes her little bottom teeth stick out from her lip. She originally came from an overcrowded TX shelter where she spent 1/2 her life. So she is still learning the ropes on how to be the best dog she can be. Once she knows you, you are hers for life. She appreciates slower introductions and chin scratches more than over the head pets. When it comes to other dogs, Brussel Sprouts can be selective. You can tell she wants to be friends with most dogs.. but acts as if she isn't sure how to interact appropriately. She does better with calmer female dogs. We will do a dog meet with any potential new siblings. She does have the tendency to protect what she thinks is hers. Sometimes it's a ball, sometimes it's a treat. This is something the PACK program has consistently worked on with her, but will need lifelong management. She seems to be potty trained and does ok in the kennel. Although she'd prefer to not be kenneled! We can introduce Sprouts to cats again once she graduates. She was a bit barky around them before. We just know someone is out there that needs a bit more vegetables to their life! Why not add Brussel Sprouts to the mix? She just needs someone to be consistent with her and show her how to act in the big world. She'll graduate in the middle part of May. Apply to meet her today!
