Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Pete is a young, happy boy who loves to cuddle! Pete does well with the other dogs and cats in his foster home, and loves to spend time out in the yard running and playing with his foster sister. He won’t hesitate to steal your seat when you get up and will be waiting for you to come back so he can give you a kiss! Pete does well on a leash but could use some more confidence when he’s out and about. He’s also very food motivated and quick to pick up new tricks! Petey would benefit from an active home with structure, where he can continue his training and learn more about how to be a confident boy. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  At Laramie Animal Welfare Society, the first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website www.laramieanimals.org. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by our adoption team which typically takes 7+ days.  Keep in mind, the animal you’re interested in when applying may be adopted and no longer available by the time your application is approved. We do not place animals on hold.   Pending approval, your application is valid for 6 months. Also pending approval, you will receive contact information, so that you may inquire about the personalities of specific animals. Adoptions for individual animals will occur by private adoption appointment. Because we are 100% foster-based, appointments are scheduled pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules.  Should you want to proceed with the adoption, a brief appointment will occur at our adoption center to sign adoption paperwork, receive medical records, and pay the adoption fee.    **Dog/Puppy applications -  Because of the large volume of dog/puppy applications we are receiving these applications may take longer to process, please be patient. We do not do first come first serve but we place the dog/puppy in the best suited home. If you have questions about the Dog/Puppy process please email lawsdogprogram@gmail.com** April 26, 2024, 4:20 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Bessie May is looking for a FOSTER or FOREVER home Bessie May- a sweet girl with loads of love to give. She is a higher energy dog when she wants to be and is very excitable. This makes her jump in greeting so she may be better in a home with bigger children. She is a fast learner but could use someone with the time to help her with her manners when she’s excited. Otherwise she’s more than willing to curl up on the couch with you and relax, she has a pretty good on off switch. She is attached at the hip and will bark when you leave but isn’t loud for too long and has never been destructive. She’s great with the cat and good with the other dogs but is still learning how to appropriately play and need supervision around high value toys and food. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  At Laramie Animal Welfare Society, the first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website www.laramieanimals.org. Peach will be available for adoption starting 4-10-24. Peach is a wiggly, happy girl. She loves attention from whoever will give it to her. She does know some basic commands, but could use some work on her manners. She isn't a fan of cats, and can be selective with her dog friends. She may do best as an only dog. Mr. Peabody is the most cuddly squish you'll ever meet. Sometimes his legs don't work and he just has to fall over. Unfortunately, the only way to remedy this condition is with belly rubs! He loves nice long walks and even handles gently on leash. Come meet Mr. Peabody today!

Story
***Don't pass me by! I am free to adopt the entire month of April! Carmen is a spunky 11 year old! She loves to kiss faces and roll around to get her belly rubbed. She has a huge smile and an even bigger heart! Carmen is house trained, crate trained and gets along well with other dogs. She always listens and is very respectful. Carmen loves treats and is very food motivated. Carmen is a goofball. She will, no doubt, wiggle her cute butt right into your heart. Carmen is a true ambassador for the breed and is waiting to fill that empty spot in your home. She wanted to chase cats the first time we showed her them. It's probably best if she goes to a kitty-free home. She may not jump a fence due to her age, but in her early years she had jumped fences, so a 6' fence is recommended. Carmen can get over zealous about her ball and sometimes get a bit too close to your hand when playing. She doesn't mean any harm by this, but we recommend no kiddos under 5, due to that mouthiness when she gets focused on her ball. Don't wait! Apply today!

Story
Meet Miss Livvy! She is a graduate of our P.A.C.K. Program, a 9-week intensive program for routine obedience, agility, and handling training with a prison inmate trainer and she is ready to show off her new skills! Her new abilities include 'sit', 'down', 'shake' and more! New adopters should realize that PACK Program graduates will require regular, ongoing reinforcement of learned behaviors in order for them to become permanent. Livvy loves to love. Once she gets to know you, she'll weasel her way into your heart & couch if you let her. She loves pets and belly rubs. She does well with other dogs, and is best with one on one play sessions. When the play energy rises, she can become a little naughty and sassy. A stern vocal "ahht!" reminds her to chill. She's getting so much better, but still needs reminders from time to time. Due to Livvy's high energy, she shouldn't go to a home with children under 5. She has a tendency to knock them over and play a bit too rough with them. Livvy has worked very hard on her social skills. But, once in a while if she is getting loved on by a human and another dog approaches, she has lifted her lift to tell them to back off. It is manageable, but something new adopters need to be aware of. She does really good in a kennel. She can often be found snoozing in there or chewing on a bone. She may cause bystanders to stop and stare at her adorable cuteness! If her face doesn't catch your attention, her dainty little prance just might! When Livvy met the cat, she was curious and wanted to play. Behind a barrier she did bark at the cat. With slow introductions and constant supervision, she may be able to live with one. She is the cutest girl looking for the best new home! Apply to meet her today!

Story
*** AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION, FOSTER, or FOSTER TO ADOPT *** Meet Penguin! He recently graduated our P.A.C.K. Program, a 9-week intensive program for routine obedience, agility, and handling training with a prison inmate trainer and he is almost ready to show off his new skills! His new abilities include 'sit', 'roll over', 'shake' and more! New adopters should realize that PACK Program graduates will require regular, ongoing reinforcement of learned behaviors in order for them to become permanent. Penguin's PACK program was cut short due to getting a small hairline fracture in one of his front legs. We are not sure how this happened, but thankfully he should make a full recovery with lots of rest and pain management! He has been just the BEST boy due his PACK time though. Penguin has shown no fear or hesitation in any situation at PACK. Once he was able to release his energy (he was pent up from being in a shelter) he has calmed down and proved he deserves his "good boy" status. When Penguin meets other dogs, he can come on a little strong. He is getting better at appropriately meeting others, but still barks at them from time to time to get their attention and get them engaged. His handler said his qualities for adoption are a list a mile long. He is an extremely loving dog with a quirky personality. He seems to have a wonky smile (weird genetics most likely), so his jaws a little off and goofy. This just adds to his uniqueness. His tongue sticks out to the side of his mouth more often than not. He lets out a cute "booooowooooo" in the morning while he stretches, almost like he's saying "good morning!". While he loves people and likes other dogs, Penguin does not care for cats. He'll need a home that does not have any cats, and does not plan to get any in the future. He was in a shelter way too long before PACK, and we'd love to see him get the home he so deserves! Apply to meet him today!
