PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email. It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! ABEL and KANE were saved from the shelter. They were unsocial and sick. Now he is ready to be adopted. Meet ABEL a shy American Short Hair Bombay Mix from San Jacinto, California whose essence is a delicate blend of timidity and charm wrapped in a sleek gray coat. ABEL is a shy and reserved fellow, preferring to take his time to get comfortable in new surroundings. He often finds solace in quiet corners, where he can observe his environment from a safe distance. But don't let his initial reticence fool you – beneath that reserved exterior lies a heart full of warmth and curiosity, just waiting for the right moment to shine. One of ABEL's favorite pastimes is watching TV. He is particularly fond of nature documentaries, where he can watch the graceful movements of other animals, or sometimes he enjoys the occasional animated film. There's something soothing about the flickering screen that captures his attention, providing hours of quiet entertainment. ABEL also has a special relationship with his cat tree. This towering structure of feline delight is his sanctuary, a place where he can climb, scratch, and perch to his heart's content. Whether he's napping in one of its cozy cubbies or surveying his domain from the highest platform, ABEL's cat tree is his happy place, offering both comfort and adventure in equal measure. Though ABEL may seem aloof at first, he has a unique way of showing affection once he feels secure. He might nuzzle your hand or softly purr as he curls up beside you. His gentle nature and calm demeanor make him an ideal companion for a patient and understanding family who appreciates the quiet joys of life. ABEL is best suited to a peaceful home where he can settle in at his own pace. He would thrive in an environment without too much hustle and bustle, perhaps with a few sunny spots to lounge in and, of course, a dedicated TV time for his favorite shows. His ideal family will understand that good things come to those who wait and will cherish the special bond that forms with a cat like Abel. Are you ready to give Abel the loving home he deserves and share in the quiet, heartwarming moments of companionship he offers? If so, can't wait to meet you and start this new chapter of his life together. Reach out to us to make ABEL part of your family today. ********************* ABEL IS AVAILABLE FOR FOSTER TO ADOPT ********************* ABEL is an AMERICAN SHORT HAIR / BOMBAY MIX. DARRYL HENDERSON and her siblings (CAPTAIN JESSICA CORTEZ, SERGEANT DANIEL "HONDO" HARRELSON, OFFICER JIM STREET, OFFICER DOMINIQUE LUCA and OFFICER CHRIS ALONSO) were found in a lady's back yard in San Jacinto, California. We were working on helping her fix all the ferals and keeping the kittens to socialize them. She ended up catching these guys and we brough them to the rescue. We named them all after the show S.W.A.T Now he's ready for his new home! Meet DARRYL HENDERSON, a sweet and playful cat from San Jacinto, California whose affectionate heart and silly antics will have you smiling in no time. With his bright eyes and soft coat, DARRYL HENDERSON is a gentle soul with a personality that is as delightful as it is entertaining. At first, he might be a little shy, but once he gets comfortable, his playful and loving nature will shine through. DARRYL HENDERSON loves attention and will happily settle down next to you to make biscuits in your lap. He's the type of cat who will quietly let you know when it's time for more pets—just wait too long, and you’ll hear his adorable meow demanding more love. But don’t be fooled by his sweetness—he’s also a fun-loving goofball! DARRYL HENDERSON has an enthusiastic love for toys, and whether it’s a spring, a mouse toy, or a wand, he’ll chase it with the energy of a kitten. His playful side is sure to keep you entertained for hours, and when it's time for treats or wet food, DARRYL HENDERSON’s excitement knows no bounds—he’ll meow loudly and happily bounce around in anticipation. DARRYL HENDERSON is a social guy, and while he enjoys being around his human companions, he also gets along well with other cats. He’d love a home with a playful kitty friend who can keep up with his silly side and enjoy a game of chase or a fun toy hunt. While Darryl is generally a sweet and friendly guy, he does appreciate his alone time now and then, so he’s perfectly content to relax by himself for a bit when needed. Although DARRYL HENDERSON is okay with being held, he prefers not to be, so a home where he has room to move around and engage in his own little adventures would be ideal for him. He’s gentle, curious, and always up for some fun, making him a perfect fit for a family who is ready to shower him with love and playtime. Story
Rescue Mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old. CASSANDRA had 6 kittens in a very dangerous industrial recycle center in Compton, California. The babies were born in a abandoned car inside the recycling plant. The trapper was able to get the kittens to safety and went back for mom. Kittens were sent out to a rescue in San Diego, California. And once mom was caught, the trapper discovered she was a very super sweet, purring machine!! Meet CASSANDRA, a sassy, sweet, and feisty tuxedo kitty from Compton, California, who is equal parts cuddly and commanding! With her classic black-and-white fur coat, this chubby little diva has perfected the art of being the center of attention, but only when she’s in the mood. She’s got that special “I’m in charge” attitude that makes her both endearing and, let’s face it, a bit bossy! CASSANDRA might be large in size, but don’t let that fool you—she’s also got a big personality. She absolutely adores her 3-tier toy, the one with those colorful balls that keep her engaged for hours. You’ll often find her batting the balls around, her little paws a blur of movement. It’s her favorite way to unwind, and she’s become a master at rolling the balls just the right way to make them bounce with that perfect thwack sound. If there’s one thing CASSANDRA does, it’s play with purpose. As much as she enjoys her playful independence, CASSANDRA is also a fan of affection—but on her terms, of course. She loves receiving pets when she’s ready for them, but if she's not feeling it, she’ll make sure you know with a quick glance or a soft swat (nothing too serious, just a reminder that she’s the boss!). When CASSANDRA is in the mood for cuddles, though, she’s as sweet as can be, curling up next to you and purring with contentment as if you’ve won her favor for the day. She can be the queen of your lap, but you’ll need to earn it! Her unique purring will absolutely make you fall in love with her! CASSANDRA is best suited for a home where she can rule the roost, making her own rules but also sharing her love when she chooses. Rescue Mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old. CINDERELLA and several feline family members were saved from a horrific hoarding case in Riverside, California. We know they are all related because the horrible human woman, kept letting them mate. When the Rescue Mama found out she took action. As of July 2025, 78 cats have either gone to other rescues or have been saved by us. You will know who these cats are by their names. They have all been named after the show "Once Upon A Time". Aside from the necklaces the kitties wear in their professional pictures, Rescue Mama names her rescue cats after shows she is currently watching at the time she saves them. Meet CINDERELLA, a delightful Domestic Shorthair from a tough past, now searching for a new loving home where she can shine in all her sassy sweetness. With her soft, Bombay fur and big, bright eyes, she’ll capture your heart in a heartbeat. CINDERELLA might have had a challenging start in life—she came from a hoarding situation involving over 100 cats—but that hasn’t dampened her vibrant spirit one bit. CINDERELLA is a true connoisseur of love and attention. She’s sweet as pie but can definitely hold her own when it comes to getting what she wants. You’ll often find her rubbing up against furniture, doors, or even your legs, claiming her space in the world with a gentle nudge. She’s playful, full of energy, and ready to be the center of attention when the moment strikes. If you’ve got treats, you’ve got her full attention—she goes absolutely wild for them! Although CINDERELLA was surrounded by other cats in her past, she’s shown she gets along wonderfully with them, so she’s sure to fit in well with your feline family. As for dogs, she’s lived with them before, but the specifics of their interactions remain a mystery. With some patience and positive reinforcement, she’s likely to adapt to a new canine companion, especially if given the space to feel comfortable and safe. CINDERELLA’s not just about the cuddles (though she’s definitely into those, too). She has a quirky side, often rubbing herself up against anything she can find—furniture, walls, or even your hands—claiming her territory in the most adorable way. This sweet, sassy girl needs a patient caregiver who can show her the love and stability she’s been waiting for. Are you ready to give CINDERELLA a second chance at a life filled with treats, attention, and endless love? Apply today at Workinwhiskers.com if your looking for a sassy, loving companion you’ve been looking for! What’s the first thing you’ll do when she rubs up against you for a treat? CINDERELLA is a DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR / BOMBAY MIX. She is about 8 months old. She is good with cats and has lived with dogs. We do not know how she intersected with them. Story
MARISOL VERA and 10 other cats were saved from the shelter. Most of them were black cats. Its so unfortunate the bad stigma that these cats get. Lucky for them, (just like our logo shows) we LOOOVE black cats! According to the rescue mama that has been saving cats for over 20 years, black cats are the best cats EVER! A Shadow of Misunderstanding, A Heart of Gold! MARISOL VERA was once just one of ten cats saved from a local shelter, a rescue mission that was particularly poignant due to the undeserved stigma so many black cats face. Unfortunately, these superstitions seem to have cast a long shadow over her journey. One by one, her ten siblings and friends found their forever homes, leaving MARISOL VERA to wait patiently. She is now the last of her litter, a bittersweet reality for such a sweet and loving feline. MARISOL VERA's story isn't one of hardship but of quiet independence. It's true she isn't fond of being picked up; she prefers to keep all four paws on the ground, exploring the world on her own terms. She loves a good solo play session, batting at toys or chasing sunbeams across the floor. This confident, independent streak is part of her charm. She knows what she wants and isn't afraid to ask for it, particularly when it comes to her favorite canned food. But don't mistake her sass for aloofness—she is sweet and loving, offering affection freely when the mood strikes. She might not be a lap cat on demand, but she will shower you with love and attention exactly when you need it most. Her perfect match will be a family that understands and cherishes her unique personality. MARISOL VERA isn't just looking for a home; she's looking for a partner who will love and appreciate her for who she is: a playful, sassy, and affectionate companion who loves on her own time. While she could be an only cat, she is also very fond of male cats, suggesting she might thrive with a calm, understanding feline brother. With her playful spirit, a family that provides a home filled with warmth, toys, and plenty of delicious meals will find a loyal and loving friend in this one-of-a-kind girl. MARISOL VERA is a DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR / BOMBAY MIX. She is about 2 years and 10 months old. She is good with cats. In her foster home, she was around other kittens and older cats. She has never been around dogs that we are aware of or children. MARISOL VERA is currently at a foster home in Hemet, California. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. Go to Workinwhiskers.com (Click on ADOPT) 2.
