Story
Meet Scotchie-Sweet Boy!! His name is really Butterscotch, but his friends call him Scotchie. We think we will call Scotchie, he seems to make a friend of everyone he meets. This sweet little guy just wandered into the neighborhood a few weeks ago, like soooo many before him. Stray cats can come and go in any location, some are truly feral and others like Scotchie are quite social. Perhaps he has had some previous human interaction, so it seems. Scotchie began making regular appearances around a few houses in the neighborhood and even ended up on our deck with all of our foster dogs!! Well, they scared him up a tree(they are actually pretty harmless)and he eventually made it safely down and on his way. Although we are a dog foster, there is a family next door that are the cat whisperers, not a job they intended on!! So far they have 3 of these local strays, and a family member has 2 more. Scotchie apparently knew where to go. As evasive as he was initially one day he had a change of heart. Tammy(the cat whisper) came home from work and had the garage door open. Scotchie made his move. He RAN in the garage and started rubbing on Tammy's legs and being very affectionate. His plan worked! Tammy took him down to the cat room downstairs for isolation and to begin his vetting journey. He was checked out, received his vaccinations and was just neutered. He is in great shape despite being on his own for who knows how long? Scotchie is over a year old, perhaps 18 months, but still a young cat. He is looking for a loving him, someone to spoil and cuddle. The family is asking for an adoption fee of $100, which will cover a little of his vetting expenses. Please email Kristine at joysparrows@gmail.com.

Story
Sam is one of the sweetest cats I've ever met. Shy at first, you can easily win his heart over with some treats. Sam loves to be held, sit on warm laps and eat dinner. He grew up around cats and dogs and is fine around both, he is also good with kids but prefers to hide if things get too loud. We adopted Sam as a kitten and have had him since, Sam was diagnosed with pillow pad (feline plasma cell pododermatitis) and just needs a pill daily which he takes no problem!

Dune is approximately three years old. She was originally adopted in Colorado and a family member could not keep her due to job moves / relocations. I brought her to Illinois approx. 18 months ago. I have other elderly adults moving into my residence and allergies prevent them from having a cat.

Story
Draco (and sister Aurora, who much be taken together) were adopted from a barn cat birth in Wisconsin. They are 2 years old now. He is a large cat with a small head, has kept his sweet kitten voice, and is incredibly affectionate. He is playful, bold, outgoing, and absolutely loves people. He is incredible good with small kids (2-3 year olds). He’s a star as the vet and travels well. He would get along with our other cats in the home, but his sister is more reserved and so we believe they should go together.

Story
Aurora (and her brother Draco, who need to be adopted together) were adopted from a barn cat litter in Wisconsin. She’s 2 years old now. She incredibly sweet and affectionate once you earn her trust. She can start a little shy and wary, but warms up quickly. She does struggle at the vet and needs to be medicated, but with medication (will provide list of meds when adopted) she does well. She tolerates young kids, but appreciates a spot where she can get away from the noise and take some alone time. She’s good with her litter box and very playful once you get her trusting you. She’s an incredibly kind cat and loves calm quiet adults.
