Story
Hi, my name is Jasper. I am a neutered boy, around 10 years of age. I use to live with an elderly lady and many other cats, but she died and then I was taken to a barn where I was locked up (with food and water) for nearly 2 years. Then a kind foster lady took me into her beautiful bedroom where I await my forever home. I love to sit in the window, sleep on/or under the bed, get petted/attention and love getting fresh water and food. I love lickable cat treats!! Every time my foster Mom sits on the edge of the bed to get up, I jump up and sit on her lap for a few minutes....it's our special time. I have always lived with other cats, but I would prefer a quiet household, where no one will harass me or frighten me. Please email or text my foster mom directly if you are interested in adopting me! 815-501-3937 My foster moms think I am a sweet boy. I am fully up-to-day on my vaccines... Rabies and Distemper 3-in-1 shot. Therefore my adoption fee is: $50 Thank you for your consideration!

Anderson Humane makes no guarantees regarding medical or behavioral status of this animal, and the current owner is solely responsible for disclosing any challenges or concerns. Luke is so friendly, and quirky. I found him at 2 years old as a stray. No telling what he got into before that but I was told he might've fallen off a cargo truck from Georgia. He wasn't fixed and had worms. He was warming up one day under my ex-boyfriend's truck and then he became mine. FF 3 years. Luke is a charming, large, and fully healthy 5 year old and 1 month male cat. When inside, his favorite thing to so is sprawl out while he and his human watch tv. He is the best co-pilot.!! He also likes to daydream by the window, listening for critters or birds. When outside, he likes sprawling out on the cool ground, walking in gardens, and picking at plants. He has gotten loose 2 or 3 times, where I found him within the same day in the neighbors gardens, and once he just walked back to the front door where his food and water were. I brush him routinely with Burts Bees waterless shampoo. He is a very sheddy orange cat. The vet says American shorthair but I don't know where the "short hair" classification comes from because I could go on brushing him and removing hair from him for days. He acts like he doesn't like to be brushed but he does. He loves being a pretty boy. As long as you keep him clean he shouldn't provoke any allergy problems. His favorite toys and cat beds are anything colorful that is truly unique, just like him. He like crunchy treats and that is usually how I care for his dental health. I have also used minty gel which he really enjoys. He likes Shiba catfood, and meow mix dry food. If you mix it together for him that's just the best. Praying Luke and I find a forever home give him the stimulation, safe environment, and needs to be met that he deserves. Currently, my household has adopted a pitbull who is untrained and uncrated. And Luke is left for long periods of time, often days, in the master bedroom, where the dog barks and pushes/knocks at the door. I'm also 5 months pregnant and just want to find the right home and situation for him before the baby comes and there is even less I can do.... Please consider adopting this cutie!! It would mean the world to me!

Story
Meet Zoe, a gentle and shy kitty with a heart full of love to give. Zoe may seem reserved at first, but with a little patience and understanding, she will blossom into a sweet and affectionate companion. Her initial shyness is just her way of getting to know her new surroundings and the people in them. Once Zoe feels comfortable and secure, her true personality shines through. She adores gentle scratches and will eagerly seek out your attention when she feels at ease. Her sweet, loving nature makes her a wonderful companion for those who take the time to earn her trust. Zoe values her own space and enjoys quiet moments where she can relax and feel safe. A calm and understanding environment is ideal for her, where she can have her own cozy spot to retreat to whenever she needs. Zoe would thrive in a quieter home with patient and loving owners who can offer her the time she needs to adjust. Families or individuals who appreciate the unique bond that comes from earning a shy cat's trust will find a loyal and loving friend in Zoe. She would do best in a home without too much hustle and bustle, where she can feel safe and secure. Stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email northaurora@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 80, and the staff will be happy to help you. He's adventurous, outgoing, and has a lot to say. However, he very much doesn't like other cats and would do best as king of his castle (we don't know how he would do with dogs).

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
August is a distinguished gentleman with a gentle heart and a special charm. At 14 years old, he's earned the right to a peaceful and loving retirement, and he's hoping to find a forever home where he can bask in affection and care. August is a shy and reserved cat, particularly around men. It's clear from his behavior that he may have been primarily cared for by a female in his previous home, as he seems more comfortable around women. His interactions are more frequent and relaxed when his foster's wife is present, though he has shown some courage by coming to see his foster dad at night. Despite his initial shyness, August is incredibly friendly once he gets to know you. He adores being brushed and scratched, and his affectionate nature shines through once he feels safe. August has severe cataracts, which means his vision is quite limited. He can see shapes but not much more. This makes him particularly sensitive to changes in his environment. His foster has noted that he gets anxious around strange noises, though he seems to get along well with their dog. Due to his vision issues, August's foster has kept him in an upstairs bedroom for his safety, as he may have difficulty finding his way around. Despite this, August showed his adventurous side by exploring the house when given the chance, though he did get a bit lost. August has a unique sleep schedule. He tends to sleep during the day and is most active during the night. He may meow for attention occasionally, but it's usually manageable and has become a part of his endearing quirks. August would thrive in a calm and understanding home where he can gradually adjust to his new surroundings. He would do best with someone patient who can offer him the time and space he needs to feel secure. A quiet environment with minimal loud noises and a safe, accessible space for him to navigate would be ideal. August's new family should be prepared for his nocturnal tendencies and appreciate the gentle companionship he has to offer. If you're looking for a sweet, senior cat with a lot of love to give, August might just be the perfect addition to your home. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you.
