Story
I will start by saying Charcoal is a great and loveable cat under the right conditions. When we are alone with no other cats around, he is the most attention starved cat on the planet. He's shy around strangers so he takes time to warm up to people. We got him when he was about a month old back in October 2020 from a family friend. Things started out fine. We got him fixed as soon as the vet gave the go ahead to avoid the very issue we have now. He acts as if he's never been fixed. He fights all our female cats, (tolerates the males?) and worse of all, he's marking everywhere. We've taken him to the vet, nothing wrong. We tried pheromone diffusers and collars, nothing improved. Judging by his behavior when we are alone with him, we have come to the hard decision that our house might just be stressing him out too much. He might just not like other cats as we never see him playing with anyone.

I AM IN FOSTER CARE! PLEASE FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION, ONCE APPROVED, GIVE US A CALL AND WE CAN SET UP AN APPOINTMENT FOR YOU TO MEET ME! Born: 3/30/2017 Adoption Donation: $50 Pineapple can be a great companion as long as you respect his boundaries. He enjoys being in your company and observing your activities, often in anticipation of a treat. He is highly motivated by food and not very fussy about what he eats. Pineapple enjoys sharing your bed and playing with strings and laser pointers. He finds watching birds and squirrels entertaining. You'll be pleased to know that Pineapple is diligent about using the litter box and only scratches designated scratchers, not your furniture. All in all, he's a low-maintenance cat. All cats are microchippped, neutered, current on all vaccines, and FeLV/FIV tested at the time of adoption. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present at the time of your appointment. The shelter is currently open by appointment only with an approved application. Please note, all applications are considered general and stay on file for 6 months. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, the adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble. Story
Very sad to have to have to give away our absolute snuggle bug, Moby. Shy at first but then will never leave your side. Wants as many pets as you’re able to give and will spend the entire day in your lap if you let him! ADORES his human companions, but must be a solo-pet, no exceptions. Having to part ways because once he grew out of being a kitten, he became aggressive with his brother. Zero problems with people, children, or babies EVER, just doesn’t want to share his parents with other animals Giving away along with toys, automatic feeder, and litter box. Medical info: -Black shorthair -Fixed -Up to date with all shots and vaccines

Story
Sam is a sweet 1-year-old tabby who’s looking for a patient and understanding forever home. She’s a little shy and scared at first, but with a calm environment and time to adjust, Sam’s true personality will shine through. She may need some extra reassurance, but once she feels safe, she’ll show you her softer side and could become your most loyal companion. Sam enjoys quiet spaces where she can feel secure, and while she might not be the most outgoing right away, she’ll appreciate your gentle attention and patience as she settles in. She’s a beautiful and loving girl who just needs a little extra time to warm up. Sam might take some time to trust, but she’s worth the wait if you’re looking for a shy but sweet friend to share your home with. Could you be the calm, loving person Sam needs to help her feel safe and loved? Stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. Our cats and kittens go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
