American Shorthair kittens & cats in Waynesboro, Virginia

Chloe (female orange Tabby) and Camille (male brown/gray/white Tortie) were adopted as kittens from the DC Humane Society shelters in the summer of 2019. We are not siblings but bonded quickly. When we moved to Crozet in October 2020, we immediately fell in love with our exurban surroundings. Currently, we enjoy an indoor-outdoor lifestyle and are looking for another great home with cat-lovers who will let us explore. We are friendly and great with other cats and children. Have not had a lot of experience with dogs or other animals, but would probably be fine.

When we were on vacation in West Virginia in summer 2000, Kobe and her sister (both kittens) approached my wife and were extremely friendly. They were clearly malnourished and in need. While we were still there, her sister was killed by a dog near where we were staying. Fearing the same result for Kobe, we brought her home and got her healthy. She has been a great pet for us humans, including our kids (who were 16 and 7 at the time of her adoption), but we adopted a younger male cat who has bullied her. Recently we allowed our daughter to get a female kitten, and Kobe has bullied the kitten. This is a great cat for a loving person who wants one sweet, quiet, loving companion. Kobe is only 4 years old, in great health, and easy to care for. She is currently indoor/outdoor but could likely adapt to being only indoor if that's preferred. We are hoping and praying for just the right new owner!

Daphne was adopted by our family 7 years ago as a kitten. The last few years she has gotten more stressed and less tolerant of our other animals. Daphne is an INDOOR ONLY cat. Ideally she needs a person who will dote on her as the singular pet in the household. She is quirky, sweet, and extremely loving. Daphne is a chill cat who loves to stay near her favorite people. Daphne is not shy around visitors.

This is Coraline, my tiny, blue-grey sweetheart who’s barely 7 pounds (if that!). She’s got the cutest little face and a quiet, curious personality. She’s a little shy at first, but once she trusts you, she’s super sweet and loves to just hang out near a window, watching the world go by. ☀️ She’s great with other cats and doesn’t mind dogs, but a super loud or chaotic home might not be the best fit for her. She’s a bit particular when it comes to her litter box—she needs it really clean every day and is picky about the type of litter, so she’d do best with someone who’s patient and understanding of her little quirks. I’ve had Coraline since she was born—her mom was a stray we found in a box in the rain while she was pregnant. So, this is really hard for me. 💔 But I’m moving across the country for school and can’t take her with me, and I just want to find the best possible home where she’ll be safe, loved, and cared for. This is Cliffhanger, a lovely tabby/white small female kitty who was born around 6/28/2023.  She is very affectionate and playful. She loves NAPS.  If you cannot find her, she is likely snuggled up taking a nap.  The perfect work-from-home companion kitty.  She loves to play and loves all cat toys and is definitely loads of fun. She loves to find an open drawer to snuggle in and she is very inquisitive. She could probably be a single kitty, but would also do well with a friendly low-key kitty.  She has never been around dogs and is not recommended for a dog home. She is neutered, has had all age appropriate vaccines, microchip, and a confirmed NEGATIVE FIV/FeLV test.  The adoption fee of $295 also includes the transport to CT.  We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will bring her up north once she is adopted.
