Story
Ember came to us as a stray - he was attracted to the birds using the feeder in our backyard. As we sat outside with him, we became attached by his outgoing and playfulness. After a couple of months, my wife - terminally ill with cancer - requested that we move him inside to comfort her. Unfortunately, she has recently passed away. I was happy to care for ember on my own - I Love Him - however, I have received orders from the US Navy to travel to Japan in support of urgent US Navy ship repair requirements. We understand that Ember was born on 2/29/2024 (estimate). His name is a reflection of his brilliant-orange eyes. He is very loving and easy to care for. He has very tidy litterbox habits and does not make a mess. Ember is a classic Ginger. He is one of the finest examples of a friendly and confident cat.

Story
Egypt is a sweet, loving, friendly 7 year old cat who likes to spend half his time indoors and half his time outdoors. He mainly goes to the bathroom outdoors but does know how to use a litter pan. Egypt likes seafood flavored cat food the most but eats all varieties, mostly canned but also kibble. Egypt was abandoned by his owners who moved away from my brother's neighborhood in Charleston, SC, so my brother encouraged my mom and I to adopt him in 2019. After just meeting him for a few days, Egypt rode with us on the 7 hour car ride up to Virginia, mainly sitting on my lap. Since then Egypt has lived with my mom. My mom is 87 yers old and is now going to an assisted living place in Charleston, SC and cannot bring Egypt so we need to find a home for him.

Story
I got her from a neighbor that had a cat give birth to kittens and thought my current cat would like another cats company. She is around 2 years old and is living with a large dog and another cat. She tolerates dogs but a home with just another cat or just her might fit her better. She’s very shy to strangers but once she warms up to her person she likes to snuggle and is very vocal.

Story
Madam is a stray taken in by my son who is unable to keep her. I have had her dewormed, spayed and she has had her shots. She around 1 year old, petite, not shy but feisty and can play laser tag all day. She is litter trained and not a picky eater. However, she does not like other cats at all and I have 3 older cats. I have had her 4 months and tried in vain to integrate her into my cat family. She would be best as a only cat.

Story
This sweet, loving guy is a total cuddlebug. He loves curling up in your lap, snuggling close and getting all the pets he can get. Friendly, relaxed, and people-oriented, he fits right in whenever there is love to give.  PLEASE READ: If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, please apply online at www.catdogfriendrescue.com. Please do NOT call or send inquiries via Adopt A Pet or PetFinder as we are a small rescue and cannot handle a large influx of inquiries and phone calls. You can email us at acatsfriendinc@gmail.com if you have questions, but if you would like to be considered for adoption, you must fill out an application. Please note if you are applying for a kitten under six months of age, you must have another friendly kitty in the home or adopt another kitten. Additionally, unless otherwise indicted that this animal is a purebred, all of our animals are rescues and the "breed" selection is a best guess based on their apperance as we have no way of knowing their specific breeds.  Out of state adoptions (outside Virginia/DC/Maryland) do require three years of excellent past or current veterinary references. We look forward to hearing from you! Adoption Fee includes spay/neuter and microchip insertion.  Please note these are not pedigree animals and we have no way of attesting if any of them are hypoallergenic and as such cannot adopt to homes with allergies. ##2637207##
