🐾 Name: Tony📝 Bio: Hey there, I'm Tony. Life hasn't exactly been a walk in the park for me, but I'm hoping to find my slice of canine paradise. Picture this: I was once a lone ranger, navigating the bustling streets with nothing but my wits and instincts. Found as a stray, I've faced my fair share of challenges, but they've only made me stronger. Now, I'm on the lookout for a forever home-a sanctuary where I can finally kick back and relax. I'll admit, I'm a bit of a nervous Nelly, but once you scratch behind my ears, you'll see my tail start to wag with hope. I'm searching for someone who understands the importance of patience and kindness, someone with experience in the ways of us four-legged friends.Ideally, I'm looking for a tranquil environment, free from the chaos of little ones or other furry companions. Just me, you, and the promise of long walks under the city lights. Let's take things slow, get to know each other, and see if we're a paw-fect match. Who knows, we might just embark on the adventure of a lifetime together. Please apply online today! 🐾 Primary Color: Grey Secondary Color: Silver Weight: 31.2 Age: 4yrs 0mths 2wks

Story
Hey friends! My name is Rocco and here's more about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Staffordshire Terrier mix Age: 4 years 5 months approx.  Gender: Male Weight: 44lbs (20 kg)  Current Location: Guadalajara Mexico RESCUE STORY - My name's Rocco and I'm a survivor! My first few years were marked by abandonment as I was left to fend for myself on the busy streets of Guadalajara, Mexico. I spent my days begging strangers for scaps and sipping from toilet bowls (an acquired taste). I was living a bustling gas station which was a rather dangerous environment for me to be in and I was found with several nasty lacerations on my body to prove it. When some kind souls finally rescued me from this perilous existence, my journey to healing began! Over the course of a year, my frail figure and broken soul slowly mended and I was able to pull off a great transformation - not just of the physical kind, but of my spirit as well! My exuberant and loving personality began to show and I started to reflect and return all the heartfelt affection of the people who gave me a second chance at life. My rescuers say my progress towards being the incredible pup I am today is testament to the healing power of love! TEMPERAMENT - I am verrrrry loving and deeply enjoy the company of humans. This also means I can be quite bouncy and energetic around people and I do well with boundaries to remind me that I can't give you hugs ALL the time (dang!). I play well with other dogs too although I can be reactive to some male dogs who try to dominate me and would do well with a family who is willing to work on this with me. Luckily for you, my foster family says I am very obedient, smart, and responsive to training...I've learned several commands in training school! I am also the perfect mix of energetic/playful while outside and calm while at home. If you choose to add me to your life I will repay you 1000x with all the kisses and love in the world! ENERGY LEVEL - Moderate GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – I am friendly and sweet with older children but can be rambunctious so supervision and an assertion of boundaries is recommended - see here (this is because I don't know my own strength and can be bouncy - for this reason I wouldn't do well in a home with younger children).  Dogs – I do well with other non-dominant dogs (see here and here) but can play a littttle rough (that rambunctiousness again!). I can be reactive to dominant male dogs and would do well with an owner who is willing to work on this with me.  Cats – Unknown  PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – My rescuers say I am great with my leash skills as you can see here, however I may need some additional patience and training. House trained – My rescuer says I am doing very well with this but I may need some additional training and patience.  Crate trained – My rescuer says this is going well but I may need some additional training and patience.  Car rides – I can get nervous in a car and may need some additional training to help me relax and enjoy this relatively new experience. I have been enrolled in training and I know some commands like 'sit', 'stay' and 'no'. I am a very smart boy if I say so myself! Please Note: WCP Dog Rescue partners with Unleashed Dog Training (Hannah Swain, Balanced Dog Trainer) to offer adopters 50% off one training session (not including tax and applicable gas surcharges). Any subsequent sessions will be offered at standard rates. WCP also highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES: I have a few small scars on my body from some old wounds - one medium sized scar is on my leg.  I am neutered and vaccinated. NOTE: dogs from Guadalajara are not microchipped. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $650.00 CAD + applicable taxes, which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process. Story
What a great family dog this girl will make!!! She LOVES kids! Always cuddling, gentle, quiet, innocent, and does a happy dance! Chicken LOVES kids. She recently met a sweet 5 year old boy at the park and her eyes lit up and tail started wagging as soon as he pet her. Watch her video here: https://youtu.be/GKQsiN3-c9w?si=6BFHCePXqFsWp44L What I love about Chicken the most is how in tune she is with you when you give her attention. She will literally walk at a heel to give your hand a kiss and get a pat on the head. Her recall is amazing. She comes trotting toward you to get love. She met my five-year-old son, and acted totally comfortable around him and enjoyed getting attention from him. This girl loves to run with her person. Chicken would make a great girl for a family who enjoys running, biking and hiking. This girl has not slowed down with her age nor does she look it. Her favorite event is cuddling near her people. She loves soft blankets, laying near your feet while you work and cozying into your side on the couch. She doesn't even mind sharing her couch and you with other dogs. Chicken is a large mature girl that still has a lot of pep in her step. We think she is about 7ish years old. Chicken loves going to the river and wading in the water. She is the perfect girl to take along with the family. Chicken shows no signs of not being able to hang with an adventurer. When out at the park she is perfectly behaved. Perfect car rider and easy to handle. Chicken Nugget is a confident older girl that does well with other dogs. She isn't incredibly playful but would enjoy a home with another easy going dog. Her current foster has a male Staffordshire terrier and she loves to lounge with him on mom's bed. Chicken Nugget is currently in Texas and ready for a virtual meet and greet. We are happy to answer any questions you might have. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. Story
Duke says he would prefer a home with squirrels to chase in a big backyard and a cozy couch to squeeze his 62 pounds into so he can get his love scratches on. His age is a complete guess. He may be younger. He does not act like a senior. He is mature and laid-back, but does not act old at all. We absolutely adore his energy level, and how lovable he is. He is going to make a best friend for someone. " When I took Duke out for a walk on the trail this afternoon, he walked beautifully on leash! There was a dog on the trail that was not on leash. Yikes! Duke did not react at all; even though the dog was barking and walking towards us. I had Duke sit and wait patiently until the dog started to walk away with its owner. Duke would check in with me, and we kept walking. He had a great walk!" Duke is an 8 year old medium energy sweet soul that loves attention and going places. He went to a restaurant this week and stood patiently next to the table while we ate dinner. He did not jump on people or bark, or do anything embarrassing. He sat for french fries on command, greeted the children, and wagged his tail when every new person came up to say hello. He did not bark or snap towards other dogs. He was a pleasure to have around out in public! He will jump right into the car and sit in his assigned chair like a perfect gentleman. His manners are impeccable in the car. Fall in love with DUKE: https://youtu.be/NU9U3hKYQ_o When taking him to the park to walk, he was a quiet boy the entire time. He wouldn't have cared if a stranger wanted to say hello. The kids playing loudly in the background didn't bother him at all either. Dogs would stroll by and he would want to meet, but he never once barked or growled at another dog. Now once Duke gets a bit of exercise down, his leash skills of pulling improve well.... until he sees those pesky squirrels. He thinks they secretly torment him!! Duke is dog friendly but being a senior gentleman, he doesn't want to play or rough house. His perfect dog mate would be an easy going female or an older female girl who knows how to relax. Relaxing is Duke's jam! Duke is fostered in Texas! We would love to do a virtual meet and greet and answer any questions about this boy.
