Story
Hello! My name is Baby.  Here is some information about me: Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier Age: 6 years old Gender: Female Weight: 65 lbs Height: 20” Hi, I’m Baby – and I’ve Got Quite the Story to Tell You When the rescue team found me in South Texas, I wasn’t in great shape. I had been neglected for years, and my body was tired and sick. I was in critical medical condition, and honestly... I think some people thought I wouldn’t make it. But I’m not just a survivor—I’m a fighter. Thanks to a loving foster mom and an amazing vet team who believed in me, I slowly started to heal. It wasn’t always easy, but they never gave up on me. And guess what? I’m now healthy, strong, and ready to give all my love to a family of my own. I’m 6 years old and a proud Staffy girl, with a soft heart and a cozy soul. These days, I spend my time doing what I do best: snuggling on the couch, giving award-winning kisses, and being the sweetest, most loyal sidekick you could imagine. Here’s a little more about me: I’m house-trained and crate-trained (although I’d much rather be sleeping next to you!) I walk politely on leash and really enjoy my daily strolls I love dogs of all sizes and ages—just give me a proper introduction and I’m happy to make new furry friends I’ve got a playful side too—I love zooming around the yard with my dog pals before heading inside for a nap I’m gentle, calm, and totally devoted to my people I’m a bit of a couch potato, not gonna lie. My dream day? A walk in the morning, a sunny nap, a little playtime, and then curling up beside you while we watch a movie (I call dibs on the softest blanket). I’m still in Texas right now, but for the right family, the rescue will make sure I get to Canada safe and sound. I’ve heard you guys have fireplaces, snowflakes, and hearts as big as mine—I can’t wait to find out for myself. So, if you're looking for a snuggle bug with a survivor's spirit, a gentle girl who just wants to be loved and give love back, I might be your match. Ask about me. I’ve been waiting for someone just like you.  Look at me waiting for my dinnner..https://youtube.com/shorts/3vMZZ Love,Baby Energy Level:  Low-Moderate Energy I get along with: Dogs: Yes Cats: Unknown Kids: Unknown Fears/Prey Drive:  none observed Training: Yes Leash Skills: Yes. Please be prepared to continue with my training. Housetrained: Yes.  Please assist me in learning where to go in my new home. Health: I am microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and spayed. My adoption fee is $750 CAD plus taxes.  This fee includes my transport to Canada Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if the dog is shown to be good with children we will approve homes with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.  While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be charged the passenger fee in addition to this. [MID EAST DOGS] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. ##2362719##

THIS IS A COURTESY POST. PLEASE CONTACT THE PERSON OR GROUP LISTED BELOW. THIS IS NOT A LOVED AT LAST DOG.  Please do NOT submit an application through LALDR. Please contact Tehra at tehra.alicia@icloud.com for more information or to adopt. Hi everyone, I am the obedient and patient Oslo (or Oz for short) and here's some information about me: Breed:  American Staffordshire / Boston Terrier crossAge: ~ 1 yearGender: MaleWeight: 55 lbsHeight: 24 inchesHighlight(s): Patient, kind, obedient I am a rescue dog from Mexico and was elated to find a lovely family who took me in in April 2024! Unfortunately, these lovely people have gone through some challenging family circumstances and have decided that it would be best for me to find a new home. My current owner says that I am very sweet with a sensitive demeanor, obedient, easy to train and eager to obey. I don't jump (unless authorized to do so), bark or resource guard. What can I say, I aim to please! They even provided me with professional obedience training; fancy! Here's some other training credentials I can brag with: I am fluent in commands like sit, wait, leave it, up (into trunk of car), back, no accompanied with a whistle sound. My favourite words are however "walkies” for walks and “yummy treats” for treats/food. My first love is people and being part of a family. I enjoy playing with kids (currently I am in a family with a 5 year old), as well as dogs, however I still have to figure out how to play well with puppies. I guess as I get older and wiser, I will get more comfortable with that. Walks are my second love and I do very well off-leash and when visiting the dog park and did I mention playing ball? I love to catch things from the air or fetch a stick thrown into the water. Adventures in the forest are a firm favourite and I really don't mind a car ride. A few tricks I have learnt are to open doors and push the lever down with my paw, as well as opening screen doors with my paw or nose.  My ideal home would be one with another larger dog, as I tend to get a bit lonely and bored. Currently I have my stuffies, but I tend to start dissecting them when I am really bored. Would love a partner to do zoomies with! On the topic of food, I have been trained to sit off to the side (outside kitchen area) when my people make food or while the family is eating. Gotta show the appropriate level of respect and then I am rewarded with vegetables, mostly carrots, celery and broccoli. For some reason though I seem to be allergic to beef, but love chicken and tuna fish. My current owner gives me some chicken kibble twice a day and as a spcial treat, a beef shin bone that I can take my time with when I am bored. I will swallow rawhide or beef tendons whole, so don't get those anymore. I typically have 3 walks a day, including 1 longer walk or dog park visit. For my breed  at least 45 minutes fast walk/running per day is recommended. When on leash, I will sit to the side when other dogs pass, so I don't become too excitable (as I am very social). My perfect family will have a strong, attentive, consistent and loving alpha-type personality, whom I will adore, enjoy and obey my whole life.  Energy Level: low-moderate. His breed should be active (fast walk/run) for an hour/day, we walk him three times per day with one of the walks being a longer one/or a visit to the dog parkI get along with:Dogs: yes, however does not prefer puppiesCats: shows interest/not sureKids: yes, and will obey children (see video below) Fears: Some separation anxiety. Does not like nail clippers, needs a distraction like lick mat etc if clipping nails--a two person job preferably Training: has completed formal training, has also been trained to: sit outside of kitchen area when food is being eaten or prepared (raise hand with flat palm facing Oslo for sit command), tap your nose twice with index and middle finger for "quiet" command, etc... Leash skills:        Yes, very good on leashHouse trained:    YesHealth notes:       No health issues. Neutered:            YesVaccinated:         Yes, including optional Lyme vaccineMicrochipped:     NoCrate trained:      No An adoption fee of $100 applies. Story
Introducing the handsome Adriano! This amazing fella has come a long way from his tragic beginnings.  Our rescue partner found him in a large public park, cruelly abandoned and left to fend for himself. His body told a tale of abuse and mistreatment, including a tail that was so damaged with a machete that it eventually required amputation. After finally receiving all the veterinary care he needed, he's been happily adjusting to life as a fortunate rescue, among his friends at the shelter. You would think such a horrid past would have hardened this pup's heart, but not this guy!  He's just an all round happy guy.  Living his best life in the wonderful care of our rescue partner.  The only thing missing is a permanent, loving home where he can continue to look past his early days and receive all the love and attention he deserves.  In return, Adriano has a lotta licks, cuddles and love to share! He'll need a little help establishing potty training and learning leash manners etc., but Adriano is eager to please and will pick up all these skills very quickly. VETTING: Fully vaccinated Neutered/Spayed Dewormed SNAP 4Dx negative (Heartworm, Lyme disease, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasma) Flea/tick/heartworm prevention No known medical issues or injuries besides those mentioned in bio PLEASE NOTE: Adriano is currently in Mexico. There will be a $235 fee for transportation to BC. This will be discussed upon approval.   ##2301936##

Story
✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to Vancouver & Toronto💟 Meet Mina💞 * Interaction with People: Likes people! Is shy initially with strangers but soon approaches them with affection and acts charming. Is not usually the type to approach first but does not shy away from contact, enjoying and accepting gentle touches. * Interaction with Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs. Often greets new dogs at the Center first and welcomes those approaching her without reservation. Tolerates playful nips well from other dogs. Mingles with any dog without confrontation. * Separation Anxiety: It’s hard to determine because she is residing in a group at the Center. Appears content and relaxed even when alone. * Potty Training: Currently uses outdoors potty while living at the Center. Occasionally has potty accidents in her kennel when it is urgent. * Hygiene: Stays still while being enjoying being touched by humans. Accepts baths and brushing nicely. Is patient enough to have her nail trimmed quietly once her paws are firmly held. * Walks: Isn’t used to walks yet so is undergoing training. Doesn’t feel any discomfort with leashes and harnesses. Wears clothes well but takes them off promptly on her own maybe due to their tight feeling. 💌Special Notes💌 * Her skin discoloration should improve in a cleaner environment. * Though timid, Mina sometimes acts boldly. Her personality is somewhat cat-like but her charm is her affection and smile coming through despite that. * Is kennel-trained. ❗Health Status❗ * Spay: Complete * Others: Microchipped, heartworm negative * Due to the muddy conditions at the Center, Mina’s legs have become discolored from constant contact with dirt. This has not affected her health or skin. * She is getting weekly medicated baths due to skin trouble presumably caused by allergies.

Story
Hey friends! My name is Rocco and here's more about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Staffordshire Terrier mix Age: 5 years 3 months approx.  Gender: Male Weight: 44lbs (20 kg)  Current Location: Guadalajara Mexico RESCUE STORY - My name's Rocco and I'm a survivor! My first few years were marked by abandonment as I was left to fend for myself on the busy streets of Guadalajara, Mexico. I spent my days begging strangers for scaps and sipping from toilet bowls (an acquired taste). I was living a bustling gas station which was a rather dangerous environment for me to be in and I was found with several nasty lacerations on my body to prove it. When some kind souls finally rescued me from this perilous existence, my journey to healing began! Over the course of a year, my frail figure and broken soul slowly mended and I was able to pull off a great transformation - not just of the physical kind, but of my spirit as well! My exuberant and loving personality began to show and I started to reflect and return all the heartfelt affection of the people who gave me a second chance at life. My rescuers say my progress towards being the incredible pup I am today is testament to the healing power of love! TEMPERAMENT - I am verrrrry loving and deeply enjoy the company of humans. This also means I can be quite bouncy and energetic around people and I do well with boundaries to remind me that I can't give you hugs ALL the time (dang!). I play well with other dogs too although I can be reactive to some male dogs who try to dominate me and would do well with a family who is willing to work on this with me. Luckily for you, my foster family says I am very obedient, smart, and responsive to training...I've learned several commands in training school! I am also the perfect mix of energetic/playful while outside and calm while at home. If you choose to add me to your life I will repay you 1000x with all the kisses and love in the world! ENERGY LEVEL - Moderate GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – I am friendly and sweet with older children but can be rambunctious so supervision and an assertion of boundaries is recommended - see here (this is because I don't know my own strength and can be bouncy - for this reason I wouldn't do well in a home with younger children).  Dogs – I do well with other non-dominant dogs (see here and here) but can play a littttle rough (that rambunctiousness again!). I can be reactive to dominant male dogs and would do well with an owner who is willing to work on this with me.  Cats – Unknown  PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – My rescuers say I am great with my leash skills as you can see here, however I may need some additional patience and training. House trained – My rescuer says I am doing very well with this but I may need some additional training and patience.  Crate trained – My rescuer says this is going well but I may need some additional training and patience.  Car rides – I can get nervous in a car and may need some additional training to help me relax and enjoy this relatively new experience. I have been enrolled in training and I know some commands like 'sit', 'stay' and 'no'. I am a very smart boy if I say so myself! Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES: I have a few small scars on my body from some old wounds - one medium sized scar is on my leg.  I am neutered and vaccinated. NOTE: dogs from Guadalajara are not microchipped. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $728.00 CAD including tax (5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.  WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.  ##1899330##
