Story
Hi everyone, I am the beautiful Xena and my foster calls me a silly snugglebug. Can't wait to meet you. Here's some information about me: Breed:     Staffordshire terrier mix Age:        2 yr Gender:   Female Weight:    55 lbs Height: (ground to shoulder): 20 '' Location: Vancouver Island in foster Training: Leash: I walk perfectly on and off the leash. Housetrained: Yes Energy Level: moderate I get along with Dogs but not cats or kids Fears: Men, strangers, loud noises. Health: Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped Adoption fee: $800 plus tax About me - I’m looking for my forever home! There is nothing I love more than curling up on the couch with you and getting in some quality cuddle time. I’m the best of both worlds—I’m an active girl who loves to play ball, go on long walks, and join in on all kinds of adventures, but I also adore my calm downtime where I can feel safe and relaxed. I love playing with other dogs and have been living with a whole pack since leaving my first adopter. I don’t have experience with cats or kids yet—maybe you can help me learn about that? I do need a little reassurance around my meals. I’ve been working with a trainer and made great progress, but what helps me most is a calm, confident human who can give me the consistency, love, and boundaries that make me feel secure. I’m a people-pleaser, a goofy girl, and I’m ready to give my whole heart to someone who will give me patience and kindness in return. My rescue story: I  got my start in Texas where I narrowly escaped severe heat stroke and was rescued along with my mom and littermates. After my rescue, I was fortunate enough to be adopted, however my previous owner has given me up due to an unsuitable living condition and inability to meet my needs. I am immunized, spayed, and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800 plus taxes. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. ##2430440##

Story
Introducing the handsome Adriano! This amazing fella has come a long way from his tragic beginnings.  Our rescue partner found him in a large public park, cruelly abandoned and left to fend for himself. His body told a tale of abuse and mistreatment, including a tail that was so damaged with a machete that it eventually required amputation. After finally receiving all the veterinary care he needed, he's been happily adjusting to life as a fortunate rescue, among his friends at the shelter. You would think such a horrid past would have hardened this pup's heart, but not this guy!  He's just an all round happy guy.  Living his best life in the wonderful care of our rescue partner.  The only thing missing is a permanent, loving home where he can continue to look past his early days and receive all the love and attention he deserves.  In return, Adriano has a lotta licks, cuddles and love to share! He'll need a little help establishing potty training and learning leash manners etc., but Adriano is eager to please and will pick up all these skills very quickly. VETTING: Fully vaccinated Neutered/Spayed Dewormed SNAP 4Dx negative (Heartworm, Lyme disease, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasma) Flea/tick/heartworm prevention No known medical issues or injuries besides those mentioned in bio PLEASE NOTE: Adriano is currently in Mexico. There will be a $235 fee for transportation to BC. This will be discussed upon approval.   ##2301936##

Story
✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to Vancouver & Toronto💟 Meet Mina💞 💙 Adogs Center Account: @_adogs_everyday 1.)Health Condition * Spayed. * Microchipped and heartworm negative. * Has some hyperpigmentation on her skin, possibly due to irritation caused by allergies, but she has no health issues! 2.)Rescue Story * Mina was brought to the Gimje City Shelter and was very scared of people for unknown reasons. Due to this, she was at risk of being put on the euthanasia list, which led us to urgently rescue her. 3.) Basic Information * With People: Tends to be wary of strangers, especially when someone unfamiliar enters her personal space, like her kennel or the playground area. However, when treats are involved, she becomes more active and circles around with interest. Once on a leash, she becomes a bit more reserved but still allows physical contact. With familiar people, she’s quiet and gentle — she doesn’t avoid them or show any signs of aggression. Doesn't refuse full-body touch, though she’s not the type to particularly enjoy it. Is a cautious, showing affection in subtle ways, like gently touching noses when greeting or receiving treats. * With Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs. Has a lot of curiosity towards new dogs and greets them with sniffs. Doesn’t fight and gets along well with familiar dogs, while she doesn’t pay particular attention to other dogs. * Separation Anxiety: Not confirmed since she’s living in a communal environment at our center. Sleeps in a kennel and relaxes even when alone at our center. May need training from scratch if she lives in a family home. * Potty Training: Goes outdoor potty while residing at our center. Prefers potty outside but makes occasional mistakes in her kennel while trying to hold in it. * Hygiene: Stays still during human touch. Accepts baths and brushing nicely. Is patient enough to have her nail trimmed once her paws are firmly held. * Walks: Isn’t used to walks and finds them awkward. Recently through training, she walks well in areas she’s comfortable with but pulls on the leash in areas where she’s uncomfortable. Follows along well if she walks with helper dogs. Tries to seek comfort by attaching bottom close to them. Doesn’t chase other animals on walks. * Bark: Barks when she’s wary of strangers and she wants something, especially when she gets impatient and wants it faster! * Like: Prefers treats over toys. * Dislike: Is scared of uncomfortable places, people and collars.

Story
Hey friends! My name is Rocco and here's more about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Staffordshire Terrier mix Age: 6 years approx.  Gender: Male Weight: 44lbs (20 kg)  Current Location: Guadalajara Mexico RESCUE STORY - My name's Rocco and I'm a survivor! My first few years were marked by abandonment as I was left to fend for myself on the busy streets of Guadalajara, Mexico. I spent my days begging strangers for scaps and sipping from toilet bowls (an acquired taste). I was living a bustling gas station which was a rather dangerous environment for me to be in and I was found with several nasty lacerations on my body to prove it. When some kind souls finally rescued me from this perilous existence, my journey to healing began! Over the course of a year, my frail figure and broken soul slowly mended and I was able to pull off a great transformation - not just of the physical kind, but of my spirit as well! My exuberant and loving personality began to show and I started to reflect and return all the heartfelt affection of the people who gave me a second chance at life. My rescuers say my progress towards being the incredible pup I am today is testament to the healing power of love! TEMPERAMENT - I am verrrrry loving and deeply enjoy the company of humans. This also means I can be quite bouncy and energetic around people and I do well with boundaries to remind me that I can't give you hugs ALL the time (dang!). I play well with other dogs too although I can be reactive to some male dogs who try to dominate me and would do well with a family who is willing to work on this with me. Luckily for you, my foster family says I am very obedient, smart, and responsive to training...I've learned several commands in training school! I am also the perfect mix of energetic/playful while outside and calm while at home. If you choose to add me to your life I will repay you 1000x with all the kisses and love in the world! ENERGY LEVEL - Moderate GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – I am friendly and sweet with older children but can be rambunctious so supervision and an assertion of boundaries is recommended - see here (this is because I don't know my own strength and can be bouncy - for this reason I wouldn't do well in a home with younger children).  Dogs – I do well with other non-dominant dogs (see here and here) but can play a littttle rough (that rambunctiousness again!). I can be reactive to dominant male dogs and would do well with an owner who is willing to work on this with me.  Cats – Unknown  PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – My rescuers say I am great with my leash skills as you can see here, however I may need some additional patience and training. House trained – My rescuer says I am doing very well with this but I may need some additional training and patience.  Crate trained – My rescuer says this is going well but I may need some additional training and patience.  Car rides – I can get nervous in a car and may need some additional training to help me relax and enjoy this relatively new experience. I have been enrolled in training and I know some commands like 'sit', 'stay' and 'no'. I am a very smart boy if I say so myself! Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES: I have a few small scars on my body from some old wounds - one medium sized scar is on my leg.  I am neutered and vaccinated. NOTE: dogs from Guadalajara are not microchipped. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $728.00 CAD including tax (5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.  WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.  ##1899330##
