Story
Hi, my name is Sophie, and I'm an American Staffordshire Terrier / Pitbull mix with a heart full of love to give. I'm a girl who loves the best of both worlds! I am sweet, kind, and playful, but I'm also wonderfully lazy. My perfect day involves going on a great walk, followed by claiming my spot on the couch right next to you for some world-class cuddles. I will happily lay with you for hours! I am incredibly loyal and very protective of my people. I'm also a very tolerant dog—you can roughhouse and play with me, and all I'll want to do is play and love on you. I am truly a "family dog" at heart. The reason I'm looking for a new home is that I unfortunately do not get along with my current dog sibling. My family has worked on training, but we just set each other off and can't seem to be friends. Because of this, I absolutely must be the only dog in the home. A home where I can be the one-and-only pet, without the stress of other dogs, would be a dream come true.

Story
Pookie is a real-life teddy bear of a dog. He is adorable, squishy, and fuzzy. He weighs about 45lbs. But Pookie wasn't meant to sit on a shelf; this teenage dog is energetic, social, and ready to meet the world head-on! He would do best in an active home that can provide him with plenty of mental and physical enrichment. Bringing a young active dog into your home can be a lot of work but Pookie promises to be the best friend you could ever ask for! Story
Meet Marz! Estimated to be about 4 months old, this American Staffordshire Terrier pup crash-landed into our care as a stray and, sadly, no one came to claim him. Now he’s ready to launch into a forever orbit with a family of his own. Marz is still building confidence, but with patient training and lots of love, he has all the potential to shine as a true Pittie ambassador. He’d do best in a galaxy with adults or older children who are ready to help guide his mission. If you’re in Sonoma County and looking for a stellar new companion, Marz just might be your perfect co-pilot. October 8, 2025, 3:14 pm

Story
Josie is a Pitbull Cattle mix, she came into our hands with a sad story and we wanted to take her out of her situation. We were not knowing if we would be able to keep her long term as we have a young daughter and are expecting our 2nd in March. She is a great young dog and very playful. She has high energy and would do great in a home with someone who has a lot of time and energy to give her. We have 3 cats and she’s done great with them, she wants to be their friend but they do not haha. Shes fully crate trained and house trained. Great with kids and loves to run. We just want her to go to a home with lots of love, and time for Josie. She is a great doggy.

Story
To apply or see more of Hammy, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2023/11/18/hammy I'm Hammy and the humans say I’m a sensational boy…whatever that means. I was rescued from Solano County Animal Control, and life has been looking up ever since! First things first, I'm a pro on the leash making me the perfect companion for those leisurely strolls. Oh, and did I mention balls? I'm head over paws IN LOVE with them! If you're on the hunt for a dog with a genuine passion for balls, well, you just found me! I'm not just a ball enthusiast. People big and small? They’re all pals in my book. I also get along with my doggy foster sibling. While I’m fine living with other dogs, I don’t really get the whole playing thing so if you’re looking for a rowdy playmate for your dog, that may not be me. Now, here's the thing – I’m a little embarrassed, but I've got a bit of hair loss on my backside. I’ve been reassured that it will improve with some TLC. If you think you can welcome me (along with all my balls for fetchin’), I would be so pleased. I can’t wait to meet ya! Hammy is being fostered in SACRAMENTO, CA Estimated DOB: 8/29/2017 $125 Adoption Donation includes: Neuter, Rabies, DHPP, Bordatella, and microchip Interested in adopting? 1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application 2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call! 3. If it sounds like a potential match for you and the dog of interest, we will promptly set up a meet and greet at the foster home Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time. Follow facebook.com/heartsforpawsrescue & Instagram @heartsforpawsrescue for more! Story
Hello my name is Daisy, I am a gorgeous American Staffordshire Terrier and I am more than ready to find my forever home.  Daisy has been overlooked! She has been citing at the humane society shelter for over a 1 year now, poor girl.  Although she is on the smaller side, she has not gotten much attention, less than a handful of 'meet and greets'. Outside her kennel she is sweet and eager to please! However she might need some time to warm up to people.  Other Dogs: The shelter is very small and due to financial and staff limitations, formal dog testing and play groups are not conducted and therefore information is limited. However, the shelter staff tried Daisy, in an enclosed yard on a leash with another leashed dog that was about her size and they played well.  On walks, she shows interest and ignores other dogs that are nearby - that's a good sign! There are no medical concerns for Daisy other than she can have skin issues if she is in the sun too much, like any white dog. From one of the volunteers - "Daisy can take time to warm up to people, but once she does she's a big time lover. She enjoys cuddling and leaving you completely covered in white fur." And another volunteer said - "With me she has always been silly and affectionate. She loves to be the center of attention, loves to sit on your lap/give kisses, and loves to roll around in the grass." I am currently living at  San Gabriel Valley Humane Society, in San Gabriel, CA (Los Angeles County).  The shelter's phone number is 626-286-1159 - contact them to meet me, pretty please! California Pit bull Rescue is an official 501(c)(3) and requires an adoption application and $200 donation fee for all adoptions.October 24, 2024, 1:31 pm
