Story
Meet Nova — affectionately known as “Itty Bitty Pitty”! 💕 Don’t let her petite 30-pound frame fool you — Nova is full of love, playfulness, and personality! This adorable terrier mix is the perfect blend of fun and snuggles. She loves playing with her foster siblings (a Great Dane and a Pug — talk about range!) and especially enjoys soft toys for playtime. After a good round of zoomies, Nova is ready to crash for cuddles. She’s happiest when she’s close to her humans and will follow you around just to be part of the action. Nova walks beautifully on a leash, has had zero accidents, and is a pro at kenneling through the night. She’s an all-around sweetheart looking for a family who will let her be their little shadow and snuggle buddy. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, and loving companion, Nova might just be your perfect match! 🐾💖All adoptions are $300 per dog for puppies under 1 year, $250 for adults 1 - 9 years old and $150 for senior dogs which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots. Senior dogs, at our discretion, are adopted out at $150 per dog because we know they will have less time with your family and may eventually have more needs as they get older. But we feel these dogs deserve to live out the rest of their lives as part of a loving family.

- Total goofball who loves toys and being silly - Smart boy who knows sit and shake- Loves people and activity and likes to be at the center of whatever's going on - Loves to learn and has great focus - especially if you have treats - so would be a lot of fun to train - Enjoys spending time with dogs who have a similar play style- Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for them (mature home recommended) This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you're interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org.All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Black Weight: 90.8 Age: 4yrs 2mths 2wks

Story
- Friendly with new people and likes laps, pets and attention - Super into treats, including whipped cream - Recently went on a Dog's Day Out field trip and was a cuddly companion: "We took him on a walk and let him run in the backyard. He's a big lover, and he is good with older kids!" - Likes to explore new places - Already knows sit, shake and stay - Not a fan of loud noises, including thunder and fireworks; would prefer a quieter home - Has done well with school-age kids; can be a bit bouncy when he's excited so will likely do best with kids who are old enough and big enough to be OK with that - May take some time to warm up to new dogs and may prefer some dogs over others; would be most comfortable with a slow introduction to new dogs (dog intro required) - Is not a fan of cats and needs a home without them- May have allergies (more info at ARL) All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Story
Goliath is a stunning sleek boy! He turns heads and melts your heart with his big pittie smile! He LOVES people! Maybe a little too much. Some days this big 50 pound love bug still thinks hes a 10 pound puppy and wants to sit in our lap! Goliath would do best in a home that has older children as he still doesn't realize how big he is as he is still full of his puppy energy. He would never hurt anyone! He just doesn't realize how big he is and can easily knock down littles. He knows basic command and is house trained and crate trained. He gets along with other dogs but tends to play on the more energetic side, so other large dogs are best for him. He has a big big heart and will be someone's best buddy on the road, hiking/fishing/camping/running buddy. A good pittie is a TIRED pittie :) And Goliath is a GOOD PITTIE :) Local adoption fee $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area) $50 temporary fuel surcharge
