Story
Jimmy's original owners house burned down when he first got there at 8 weeks old. I have been unable to get a response from them on taking him back and it has been over a year. He is a very sweet young pup. His 1 year birthday was in September. He is good with my cat and my children. He is a "velcro" dog and loves to cuddle. He would be best in a home without other dogs, as he resource guards his food. My dog is older and I cannot take on the added training. He would do great somewhere he can get a lot of attention. He is mostly potty trained and crate trained but he does have accidents when you leave. He knows basic commands like sit and down and crate. Does well on a harness.

Story
Say hello to adorable Stitch!  Stich was rescued by a lady driving in Louisiana and saw him in the road with 2 other puppies.  Although he was found with the 2 female puppies, we cannot confirm that he is actually their sibling.  Therefore Stitch is considered to be a male mixed breed puppy.  The vet gave him the birthdate of Octber 7 2025.  Stitch is just a little guy weighing around 10 pounds.  Stitch is described as a loving and sweet puppy. He is playful and loves everybody.  Stich is working on potty training.  When he can't get outside, he knows to go on potty training padds.  He is also working on crate training.  Stitch loves be be outside and enjoys playing with other dogs.  He isn't afraid of bigger dogs.  Stitch's foster describes him as an absolute doll!  He will need an adopter committed to continued training, exercise and socialization.  Stitch would make a great addition to any family!   His adoption fee  is $550 which goes towards neuter, vaccines and medical care up to adoptoin, microchip, foster expenses and transport fees. If you would like Stitch to join your family fill out an adoption application. ##2589099##

Story
Adventure, play, and snuggles- I’m ready for it all with you!   Hi, I’m Ally! I’m about 1.5 years old, 45 pounds, and a total lovebug who’s been waiting over a year to find my forever home.  I’m energetic, fun, and full of life- always up for chasing balls, playing tug, or exploring every inch of the backyard. Car rides are one of my favorite things, especially with my head out the window feeling the breeze. At home, I’m a total snuggle bug and love burrowing under the blankets.  I’m deaf, but it doesn’t slow me down one bit! I know several hand signals like sit, down, stay, and more, and I love treats, which makes training extra fun. I recently completed a 3-week Board & Train program to help with impulse control and communication, and my trainer will continue to support my adopter so we can start off on the right paw together. I also use an e-collar to help me communicate with my humans, it’s just another way I can learn and stay safe! I’m a playful girl who enjoys other dogs- I’ve even lived with three before! I may need a couple of meet-and-greets to get my excitement out, but once I settle in, I love to play! I enjoy kids too, but I can be a little jumpy when I’m excited, so older or dog-savvy kids would be the best fit for me. I’m fully potty trained and crate trained, but I’d do best in a home where my people are around often. I bond deeply, so being close to my humans makes me feel safe and happy. A secure, fenced yard would be needed to give me a safe space to explore and play, since I can’t hear verbal recall. I’m spayed, up to date on vaccines, and ready to find a loving home with someone willing to be patient, consistent, and kind. If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate, loyal companion, I might just be your girl! My adoption fee is $400 which goes towards my spaying, vaccines, medical care up to adoption and microchip.  Please fill out an adoption application if you would like to have Ally join your family. ##2281162##

Story
Penny is 2 years old, her birthday is sometime in January 2024. We originally had taken her in from my family member who had adopted her through a local shelter. We are needing to rehome her because she is no longer getting along with the other dogs in the house. We do know she is good by herself and needs to be an only pet! We have never had any issue with her being aggressive towards us. She is a super playful, crazy, silly, energetic girl, but she also loves cuddles and curling up under a blanket! She is up to date on all her shots and is microchipped. She is house trained, besides maybe the occasional little tinkle when she gets to excited, she’s crate-trained, usually without anything soft in her kennel because she seems to maybe have some separation anxiety and will chew up what’s in the kennel with her! She really is a good girl and will do so good in a house where it can be just her and be with someone who will allow her to be active without being around other dogs.

Story
You might not like the flavor of black licorice, but wait until you`ve met this dynamic guy who`s an absolute sweet treat! Licorice (40lbs) came to us when his owners had to move and sadly couldn`t take him with them. At just five months old, he`s already got a few tricks under his belt, and as long as you`re not a vacuum, he`s interested in getting to know you! He`s very friendly, but he`ll need to get to know you before he`s going to show you his favorite blanket or ball. We know that he`s lived with kids and other dogs, but we`d still love to set up a separate meet and greet for any current resident canines. Come by to meet him at our adoption center Wednesday-Sundays: 12:00 PM-4:30 PM (Thursday: 12:00-6:30 PM)You can also reach our adoptions team:by email: adoptions@spcaonline.comby phone (during open hours): 607-257-1822 x221
