Tooter was found abandoned and terrified in a local park, severely underweight and pregnant. After an emergency C-section saved her life, she tragically lost all of her puppies due to infection. Despite everything she has endured, she has spent the last few months healing, learning to trust, and discovering what love feels like. She has come such a long way - gaining weight, wagging her tail again, and enjoying toys, treats, and affection. A professional trainer (K9 Halo Training) has evaluated her and confirmed she shows no true aggression, only fear-based reactions. She does well with calm, non-dominant dogs and is good with cats, but she would thrive best as the only dog or with a very mellow canine friend. Sudden movements or loud environments can overwhelm her, so she needs a patient, stable home that can give her structure and reassurance. I am deaf and my other senses are heightened. So that’s pretty cool! I have some really pretty brown spots on my otherwise white coat. I feel it really makes me stand out in the crowd. I am the main character and I don’t need a supporting cast! I don’t really like being around other dogs and I REALLY dislike cats. Speaking of likes, I really like people. The older, the better! I don’t really enjoy hanging out with young kids and do best around humans who are 15 and up. My foster family thinks I am pretty funny. When I get excited I either hop or plop! I hop like a bunny and I plop for belly ribs. When I see you my entire body wiggles, not just my tale. I’m basically an overachiever. I love to be outside and I even like the snow! I am super curious and alert of my surroundings. I like to walk outside and my foster mom is working on my leash manners, but say I am learning! I sleep a lot, like a whole lot.
