Story
Marvel has been a good dog. He is 7 years old. He gets along well with our other dog and young kids. Not sure if he's okay with cats but would probably get used to a cat friend. Marvel is loyal, hyper, playful, and cuddly. Unfortunately he and our other dog are escaping the fenced in back yard frequently which lead to a dog fight with the neighbor dog. I do not believe Marvel is aggressive unless provoked. Both were male dogs. Luckily no one was badly injured. It has never happened until recently. We have maxed out our budget with tying to keep the dogs in the yard. We'd love for them to go to a good home together but need to rehome even if they are seperated. They have been well taken care of and we are heartbroken to see them go but also have exhausted our resources in keeping them contained. Please reach out with any questions.

Story
Although his name may make him sound tough, Hercules is truly one of the biggest softies you'll ever meet! Sweet hunky boy Hercules has had a tough time finding his perfect family. Hercules was saved from euthanasia in Kentucky and brought to Rescue Village last August. He was adopted quickly because of his gentle nature, but then his first owners had a housing change and had to return him. They described him as a couch potato who loved to play but also had a very calm and cuddly side. He thinks he's a lap dog and he gives the best chin kisses. He never had to be crated because he did so well loose in the home, napping wherever he wanted. Hercules also lived with multiple young children and loved them all. In his second home, he got along great with his one doggy sibling, but not the other, and eventually had to be returned. Again, he was described as laid back and snuggly, spending most of his days napping in the sun. Hercules has gone out on fieldtrips in the community, had sleepovers with volunteers, and visited schools for events and is ALWAYS on his absolute best behavior and a friend to everyone. We're sure if you come and meet him, you won't be able to leave without him!

**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Kira. I'm about 4 years old and I weigh about 54 lbs. I was originally brought into the pound as a stray in July of 2021. I wasn't reclaimed by my owner, so I was put up for adoption and found a new family relatively fast. Unfortunately, and through no fault of my own, I was recently returned to the pound and I am now looking for a loving new family to join. I am a very playful, energetic, sweet dog. I love playing, but I also love getting attention and giving kisses. I get along well with most other dogs and I seem very playful with them too. I am clean in my kennel at night. My previous family said I am a very good girl inside and I am housebroken. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152.00. The pound DOES NOT accept checks for adoption fees. We're able to accept cash for adoption OR Visa/ Mastercard/ Discover Card. A convenience fee of 2.39% will be applied to all credit/ debit card adoptions. If you intend to do a foster-to-adopt, the fee must be cash. ALL dogs/puppies adopted from our shelter will receive their parvo distemper vaccine, bordetella vaccine, rabies vaccine (if aged at 12 weeks or older), be dewormed with a 3 day course of panacur dewormer, be microchipped, receive their current Ohio dog license and will be spayed or neutered. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. IF the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, lack or space, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. The adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are: Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm Saturday: 8 am - 11 am. Sunday: 8 am - 11 am. Adoptions are always welcome during hours of operation. We will make special arrangements for adoptions in advance. There is nobody in the office on Saturday and Sunday, so therefore we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Lakota. I'm about 5 years old and I weigh about 81 lbs. I was found as a stray in the North Georgetown area and I was brought in to the pound. I am a phenomenally sweet and very loving dog with people. I am super affectionate and I love to cuddle and give kisses. I am also a pretty smart girl and I listen pretty well to basic commands. Although I am an adult, I still have plenty of play. I am super clean in my kennel and I definitely appear to have been a house dog. Although I'm about the sweetest dog you could ask for when it comes to people, I don't really share that love for other animals and would do best in a home with a family where I can be their only pet. If you're looking for a super sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $150. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes a parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm.
