Rex is available for foster or foster to adopt. He was found under a car crying in the snow. His breed mix is unknown but has some terrier in him and has personality and tendencies of a Sloughi and resembles this breed. He is a happy and very energetic boy. He is housebroken and does great with his crate training (no messes!)He has met a few cats and has not shown any aggression but just wants to play. Unfortunately, he plays a little too rough for a cat right now, so we are suggesting no cats. We do not recommend any children under 8 due to his energy level. He is still learning to properly play with other dogs so meet and greet is MANDATORY. On first meet, his energy is very overwhelming, but it's all in play. He doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body, just wants love and to run and play! He will settle down after a while and becomes the perfect pup! No small dogs for him! Meet Cookie! This senior pittie boy dreams of cookies every day...all day! Can't blame a guy for wanting snacks! Cookie didn't have a great first 10 years of life, so we are excited to help make the most out of his remaining years. You would never know Cookie was an outside dog for his first 8 years except for some marks on his face where he pressed his face against the fencing. Cookie is 53 pounds and in good health! Cookie is a strong guy and inquisitive. He did very well at his vet appointments and is a great car rider. Cookie is a kleptomaniac and will snag stuff to chew on that he finds appealing. So his new family will have to be diligent about that. Cookie likes chewing on bones and snuggling on blankets. He does have arthritis managed with maintenance meds and vitamins, but that is normal for his age. Cookie did well around other dogs in playgroup. He hasn't been cat tested. Sweet Thunder buddy is the best puppy around! Hes a low energy “teenager” puppy(around 8-10 months old) that entertains himself with his bones or toys! He naps a lot on the couch and will sleep with you all night in bed! He is pretty much housebroken and attempts to wake you up when he has to go potty outside! He is very good on a leash, does not react to people, other dogs and only watches the neighborhood deer! He is excellent in the car, sits or lays and will chew on a bone if provided(he goes on a lot of rides with foster mom!) Very happy to meet all the people with a wag and sometimes jumps up but is coaxed down with the word off! He also knows how to sit with a hand signal! He gets along well with the kitties in his foster home! Doesn’t bother them too often but is easily redirected with words when he gets excited about annoying them 😅! He has attended events with other puppies and dogs and does seem to do well with them but may display some possession in the home! He is totally fine in the home as a single dog as he prefers to follow his person around! Thunder is not really a fan of a crate but does go into a very strong enforced crate when left home alone! He does not have accidents in the crate! He does also like when you walk outside with him so he can go potty! He is an all around fabulous dog that needs a bit more confidence and training (which is being worked on in foster care) and would be darn near perfect! Martha, my dear! Martha is a sweet, mild-mannered pup who can be summed up as a `very nice lady.` She is a lovable doll from her luxurious neck rolls to her wiggly nubbin tail. At around 5 years young, Martha has the mature spirit and manners of an adult but still enjoys getting in her daily activity - so she will be happy to join you as a snuggle buddy on the couch just as much as she`ll be glad to help you get your steps in on walks. Martha is curious and likes to explore on walks. She is a gentle, lower-key gal though can be strong on leash at times. She can also entertain herself by playing with a toy for a while, before she`s ready to chill out. Martha seems like a mama dog who has evidently had a few litters in her life, but she`s ready for her turn to be pampered, and she is probably missing the comforts of a home. Martha consistently keeps her kennel clean, so we believe she is housebroken. She also sits very well when asked, holding still as though she is a professional. She is overall a good listener, and loves her treats. With other dogs in play group, she was playful with a softer socialization style. She sometimes perks up around other dogs, and with her little tail stub wagging excitedly. Martha tested positive for heartworm when she arrived at the kennel, but she doesn`t want to let this stop her from living life to the fullest. Fortunately, heartworm is treatable and cost is covered thanks to Friends of CITY DOGS Cleveland.
