Lanny is still looking for her forever home. She has been with us a little while after coming to us with a litter of puppies. You may see a common theme here! Lanny thinks shes a lap dog! She loves it when her human foster brother sits down to watch a hockey game! Lanny is perfect! She has never been crated and has no need to be. She never has accidents, does not chew and has no anxiety when left alone. Lanny is between 2-3 years old and has matured during her time with us. She loves all humans big and small, loves to play with her foster siblings and most of all loves to be near a human.Lanny is the worlds best kisser , is about 45 pounds and would be great for anyone needing a couch buddy! Story
George AKA Brutus as his foster says he seems to be responsive to, is a sweetie pie who is obsessed with children. He was abandoned with a female bully but they became separated, and he spent some days outside. Once he got to the vet it was discovered he had a head injury. We aren't sure what caused it however they said it was very recent. He is learning to trust that he won't be left outside alone with his foster helping him overcome this fear. So far, he seems to get along well with other dogs, though his contact has been super limited he seems to be unaffected by them. He ran into his fosters home and claimed a spot on her couch immediately. He's very curious and once inside he made himself home in seconds.

Story
Diamond is a beautiful little girl who has been through a lot of heartache in her young life. She was tied outside to brave the elements 24/7 with a wire tied around her neck. She was taken to a jigh kill Texas shelter and survived death in the euthanasia room not once, but twice. All she wants is to find someone to love and to love her back. To give her the life that she deserves and so desperately longs for. Diamond seems to be a little bit prey driven, probably from living outside her entire life.So a home with no pocket pets, cats or small dogs is probably best. A fenced yard is a plus, but not absolutely necessary. She is great on a leash and really enjoys walks. This little sweetheart is UTD on vaccines, Spayed, de wormed, flea treated, heart worm tested( negative) and micro chipped. If you would like to meet Diamond, please submit an application on our website, canaananimalsanctuary.org.

Vinny was completely vetted on 10/31/22 and is microchipped. He needs to be the only pet as he is not good with other dogs and cats. He weighed 60 lbs. at the time of vetting. He came to us from an abusive situation where he was starved. He is friendly with adults but probably not good with kids. Story
Every once in a while, and not very often, a dog comes through our rescue that can only be described as PERFECT! Does such a creature really exist , you ask? The answer is YES INDEED! And her name is SNOWFLAKE❄️ I could go in and on for days about this girl but thought maybe the worlds would be best coming from her foster mom... Hi y’all, this is Snowflake’s foster mom and I want to tell you about this extraordinary dog. I know a little about extraordinary because although I, myself, am not that extraordinary, I am an immigration paralegal who specializes in extraordinary visas for people who are at the top of their fields. To be approved for one of these visas, they either have to meet 3 of 8 criteria or win one major award. Y’all, Snowflake would have that visa in a heartbeat! Her major award is that the rural shelter in which she was housed for several months recognized her as THE BEST DOG THERE and would use her to temperament test the other dogs. Above and beyond all the other dogs, they focused on her and advocated for her. When shelter people recognize a dog like that, you should LISTEN! Thankfully, Blues City did—again. Snowflake is flawlessly house-trained, exceptionally friendly, and desperate to be every dog’s bestie. She is that typical pittie combo of Let’s Play Hard Unless You Prefer To Snuggle. She isn’t the biggest fan of the crate, but she will be perfectly still and quiet as long as she needs to be there. She takes correction very well and rarely makes the same mistake twice. But she’s young and still likes to chew, so she needs some guidance to choose between rug and bone. Snowflake is about 14-16 months old and full-grown at 50lbs. Despite being adorable, she is also HW- and spayed. You can rest assured 1000% that she is perfectly behaved ( even beyond that she's much more tolerant than just about any 4 legged being we've ever had) with anyone and anything ! Her foster mom Lori is spoiling her in Memphis, Tn and we are being very patient because we know the perfect family is out there for this PERFECT! BEAUTIFUL! Creature 💜
