Story
We got piggy at the Greenville animal care (animal shelter) as a puppy at a couple months old. He is about to be 5 years old. (Still acts like a puppy!) He is such a lovey dog. He loves running around and walks, so if you’re active he’d be perfect. He doesn’t like men much and he doesn’t like other dogs in his home. But we haven’t tried to add him into a home with other dogs in it, so I’m not sure how he’ll do with that. But he is food aggressive with other animals. He is such an amazing dog, we got so lucky. We are choosing to find a new home because an illness issues. It’s hard to take care of him and he deserves better than what we can offer him right now. We also think he’s allergic to chicken, so we avoid it in his food. We think it makes him itchy.

Story
Alfie is a shy and gentle male Staffie mix, medium sized, who is well-behaved in the home, loves other dogs, and even gets along with cats! Alfie was really stressed in the shelter, so he`s now spending time in a foster home where he`s just adored by the family. Alfie is shy and takes a little time to warm up to new people, but once he gets to know you, he`ll be your best friend. He`s calm in the house, potty trained, sleeps well in his crate at night, and is generally just an easy dog to have around. His confidence is much better when he`s got a doggy friend at his side, so he`d do best in a home with another dog. He`s loving the companionship he`s getting from the female dog in his current foster home. Because he`s a little timid at times, he`d do best in a home without small children, and with an adopter that`ll take the time to build a loving bond with him. It`s easy to look at Alfie and think he`s just another `bully breed`, but he`s really a special, gentle, and affectionate boy who will be a wonderful family member in the right home. Potential adopters are welcome to talk with the foster family to learn more about Alfie.Alfie is currently in the Adoption Ambassador Foster Program. Foster take dogs that are available for adoption into their homes and help them get adopted. Interested in Alfie?! Story
Mila is currently in the Adoption Ambassador foster program. Foster families take dogs into their homes that are available for adoption and try to get them adopted. This is what her foster Mom is saying about her: Mila is a very sweet and loving girl. Mila is a bit timid and takes some time to warm up to new people and situations. Mila is curious and enjoys exploring the outdoors. She is learning everyday that the world is a safe and loving place. Mila is quick to warm up and become trusting. Once comfortable Mila will show you her happy, playful, cuddly self. She gets the zoomies, loves toys and treats, and loves to play with her older foster sister. Mila also loves to nap in any snuggly place she can find. Mila is making progress on her potty training and basic commands and does sleep through the night. Mila will do great in a patient, loving, calm environment with a routine and people who will continue to gently expose her to new things. Mila would do well with a sibling to play with and to help her feel brave. Mila lives with a senior cat now also. Mila`s puppy energy is too much for the cat to play with her, but Mila only seems curious and gentle with the cat. Interested in Mila? Story
Meet sweet baby, Juno.  This little girl was a stray in a neighborhood that kept her from going hungry and showed her kindness.  Then one day she was hit by a car, and was found lying at the bottom of the driveway of one of her caretakers.  The good samaritan brought her to Blue Pearl in Summerville where she was treated for many lacerations.  She just got all of her vaccines, staples removed,  and is ready to find a loving family.  Juno is a little timid, but warms up very quickly and just wants to be loved and climb in your lap.  As of February 25, 2025, we believe her to be approximately nine months old.  She seems to do well with other dogs.  If interested in fostering or adopting sweet Juno, please visit our website www.hfhelpnokillrescue.com and click on OUR DOGS to find Juno.  ##2315731##
