Story
She’s the queen of soul … and full of heart! Meet Aretha Franklin! Aretha Franklin is in a foster home in Spokane, WA. She is available for adoption in the local Spokane area. Because “Fur-st Impressions” are very important, schedule a meet and greet with Aretha Franklin before applying to see if she is the perfect fit for your family by emailing us at Fur-stImpressions@pathofhoperescue.com.  A completed Adoption Application will be required after the meet and greet to move forward with Aretha Franklin’s adoption. Born in April of 2020, Aretha is a loving, adorable pup with the cutest pink smudge mark on her nose. A medium size American Staffordshire Terrier mix, Aretha Franklin loves to give kisses and has a way of looking at you with her head tilted, like she is hanging on to every word you say (or sing). Besides being a good listener, Aretha is thrilled to be in your life and adores being part of her human pack. Social and a natural performer, she hasn’t met an adult she didn’t take to right away. And Aretha can be a bit of flirt to get your attention; she’s quick to offer her tummy for belly rubs or nuzzle your hands to prompt you for pets and ear scratches. She is really a big snuggle muffin and is up for cuddles on the bed as well as games of fetch or some outdoor adventures. Aretha Franklin has done well with kids and other dogs, but a no cat home would be best for her. Aretha Franklin is the type of dog who needs a strong leader to look up to and follow. Aretha’s adopter was a well-meaning individual who was unable to provide that role model, and this caused some anxiety and stress for Aretha. Her adopter was unable to become the leader Aretha needed, and she was returned to us. But the beauty of dogs is that they are always willing to learn. Aretha Franklin has been training with Courtney’s Canine College where she has been living with a strong leader and as a member of a dog pack. She has thrived in an environment with clear expectations and boundaries. Courtney will work with Aretha’s adopter to reinforce this training and set everyone up for success. Aretha Franklin’s ideal adopter would exude calm energy and make her feel confident and secure in her place in the pack. Aretha Franklin will be a loving and loyal companion for someone willing to set expectations for her, give her tons of affection, provide her with exercise, and keep her to the boundaries and expectations that make her feel comfortable. We are waiving our normal $450 minimum adoption donation so you can put that towards training instead. Want to learn more about Aretha Franklin? Email us at Fur-stImpressions@pathofhoperescue.com to schedule your meet and greet with the queen of soul! What is Path of Hope Rescue’s Adoption Process? Our adoption process takes on average 7-10 days. Begin by completing the online application. EVERY application receives an email response from us (check your spam folder!). Your personal Matchmaker will contact you, help you find your perfect pup match, and guide you through the process. Meet your potential pup at the home of the foster family (the process may differ slightly for long distance adopters). Bring your potential pup home for a no commitment In Home Trial. In Home Trials are a minimum of (2) nights for a puppy and one week for an adult. Your Matchmaker will check in with you during this time. Sign the adoption paperwork and adopt your new family member! Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue Our adoption process sets us apart. We specialize in learning about you and your family to find just the right fit for you. Our Matchmakers are not only good at what they do; they will also guide you through the entire process. Our Minimum Adoption Donation is $550 for puppies under a year and $450 for dogs a year and older. We are a WA state registered non-profit and rely heavily on adoption donations to cover the expenses associated with saving lives. Our dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption; microchipped with free lifetime registration; and up to date on DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccinations (when age appropriate) and deworming and heartworm treatment/prevention. Adopters can also earn a $100 training refund if they attend (6) hours of any in person training course. Long Distance adopters (one hour or more from Spokane) may choose to travel to Spokane to pick up their dog or use our monthly transport option, Puppy Delivery Express, for an additional delivery donation of $250. Puppy Delivery Express currently delivers dogs throughout Washington and to parts of Montana, Idaho, and Oregon. About Path of Hope Rescue At Path of Hope Rescue, our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. Our two employees and army of volunteers focus on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes. We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment. Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog’s transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events. Please visit https://www.pathofhoperescue.com/ for more information about our organization and the adoption process.   ##1395419##

Story
Atlas-t, Your Loyal Companion has arrived! Atlas is a gentle giant with a heart as big as his name suggests. This well-mannered boy prefers to keep to himself but would love nothing more than to curl up on the couch with a loving human by his side. He’s incredibly well-behaved, treat-motivated, and fully housebroken—making him an easy addition to any home. The Perfect Housemate - Crate-trained and comfortable in his own space- Walks beautifully on a leash, greeting passing dogs with curiosity but no aggression- Rides well in the car for those weekend adventures- Atlas is not a fan of feline friends so he would do best in a home without kitties! Health & Care - Up to date on shots and already neutered- Heartworm positive, but currently undergoing the slow-kill treatment (adoption includes a year of preventive and treatment meds!) Heartworm is unfortunately quite common in Texas due to the warm, humid climate that allows mosquitoes, which spread heartworm, to thrive year-round. Many dogs in Texas face this risk, but the good news is that heartworm treatment is very effective. With proper medical care, including the treatment provided at adoption, dogs can fully recover and go on to lead long, healthy, and happy lives. With preventive medication, heartworm can be kept at bay, allowing dogs to enjoy an active, fulfilling life with their families. Atlas hasn’t been formally introduced to other dogs yet, but his calm demeanor and friendly sidewalk greetings show great promise. While his size might seem intimidating, his personality is nothing but sweet. If you’re looking for a chill, well-behaved companion to share your home and heart with, Atlas is your guy. We’re also starting a fundraiser next week to help with his heartworm treatment, but any adopter will receive full support with his continued care. Could you be the one to give Atlas his forever home? Apply today! To add Atlas to your family, simply send us an email at springbranchrescue@gmail.com for adoption and fee information. He is wagging his tail and wiggling his butt at just the thought of finding his forever home and his story is just beginning! His next chapter could be with you! Our adoption fee includes transport, all age required shots, microchip, & a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian. We look forward to receiving your application! We will review it shortly and give you a call to set up a phone interview.  We are thrilled to offer transport services every 3 weeks from Houston to the Pacific Northwest, the Midwest, and the East Coast, ensuring that these incredible pets can find their way to you no matter where you are. This makes the adoption process smooth and convenient, allowing you to focus on welcoming your new family member with open arms. Why should you adopt from a Texas Rescue? Because you will be giving one of our many dogs and cats in need a chance for a better future away from a city that has an animal crisis. We are heartbroken each day with the many incredible and loving animals found wandering our streets. So often are these animals dumped, abandoned, or born on the streets and never find a home to call their own. We are giving them the chance that every animal deserves. We know that since you are looking to add a furry family member to your home here, you will provide the love, care, and attention they need to thrive. Thank you for considering adopting and not shopping. ##2219801##

**** THIS DOG IS IN FOSTER READ BELOW FOR MORE INFO***Hi, I’m Buddah! I came back to CAC after my owner had to move, but now I’m thriving in my foster home with both cats and dogs. My foster mom says I’m doing awesome! I love meeting new people and get along great with all my furry foster siblings. I’m adventurous and love exploring, plus I LOVE playing in the little pools we have here! If you enjoy going to the lake or have a pool in your backyard, that would be amazing! I can’t wait to go on my next adventure with my forever family. Please make sure you have the time, space, and resources to care for me for the rest of my life. You can reach out to my foster mom Liz at 218-393-7829 to set up a meeting with me!
