Story
Meet Beau, a ten year old Staffy mix weighing around 72 pounds. It’s always so sad to see animals come to us, but especially when they are seniors and you know they spent their entire lives devoted to their family. Beau’s owner was no longer able to care for him so he gave him to a homeless person who was also unable to care for him so he brought him in to us. Beau has enjoyed time in one of our staff member’s offices and has quickly become a shelter favorite. He keeps a clean kennel and loves to go on walks, walking very politely on leash. Beau is a bit of an attention hog and likes to be around people and wants to follow you around, he doesn’t like to be locked in the office when all the action is happening in the lobby! Beau gets along fabulously with all the dogs he has met, big or small, happy or grumpy. He enjoys his treats and will “sit” and “shake”! Beau also likes his toys and will even carry around two in his mouth just to show you. He is an older gentleman so a dental into the future may benefit him and he really appreciates soft beds. If you have more of a laid-back lifestyle and enjoys the finer things life has to offer, take a second look at Beau. Did you know YHS lets local community members FOSTER TO ADOPT?? That`s where you and the pet make sure you`re a good fit for one another by having a fun sleepover prior to finalizing your adoption. It`s a win-win for everyone! Just ask our front desk staff about how it works.Interested in adopting this or another YHS pet? Please complete our adoption questionnaire found at: https://yakimahumane.org/adopt/apply/Our adoption fee includes a lovable companion, spay/neuter, vaccinations and intestinal worming, flea/tick treatment, rabies vaccine (for pets over 3-4 months of age) and a microchip with nationwide registration. Your adoption fee helps support YHS and our spay/neuter efforts in the community to end overpopulation of cats and dogs.If you have any questions, please e-mail us at adoption@yakimahumane.org.

Story
MEET BEAMER! If you’ve ever wanted a 60-lb lap dog, look no further! Beamer is the sweetest dog you’ll ever meet, and he loves nothing more than to curl up and fall asleep with his head in your lap (warning: he snores - but it’s a very cute snore). When he’s not trying to climb into your lap, Beamer loves to go on walks and hang out with other dogs. He currently lives with two female canine companions in his foster home in Bothell, but most recently his daily pal was a male husky mix. Beamer is also in a foster home with cats - he's curious but well-mannered. He truly wants to please. We think Beamer is around five years old, and the best guess is that he’s an American Staffordshire terrier mixed with something larger (maybe a yellow lab or a hunting dog). He has the cutest spots on his ears and the most endearing face! Beamer LOVES women... I mean, he'll attach to you like Velcro and want to be by your side always. But he'll hang out with men, too. We just know his preference. :) Once he's settled in, you couldn’t find a sweeter, more loving companion. Please email for an application.

Story
Meet Polly! Polly-Anna, Polly Pocket, Polly Pittie, Polly-wog, the cheeky nicknames are endless! And the names are all as cute and sweet as she is. If you are looking for quiet companionship and playful charm, this lovable lady is ready, waiting, and available. Estimated to be around 8 or 9 years old and weighing about 50 pounds, Polly is the perfect example of mellow maturity. While we think she might be a pittie mix—maybe with a touch of Lab—her true breed and exact age is anyone’s guess, but what we do know is she’s 100% lovable, huggable, good girl. Don’t let her age fool you, though—Polly still gets the zoomies now and then and will happily share a playful moment before curling up next to you for cuddles. Polly is fortunate to be waiting for her adoption day in the home of a loving foster. This is wonderful for so many reasons. This gives us a front-row seat to the day to day girl Polly is while she gets to learn and enjoy the rhythm of home life. So far we know she loves cuddles on the couch, is very adoring of her person, enjoys standing in a baby pools to cool her paws, and will gently carry around a toy in her mouth. Her foster mom has shared, she’s a dream in her crate, settling in quietly without barking or whining. On top of everything else, she loves a car ride with the wind in her face! Polly would thrive in a calm, quiet home with a family who understands her laid-back nature. She’s happy to take short walks or enjoy a little time outdoors, but she doesn’t need a yard to be happy. Even though Polly is good on leash and redirects easily when needed, she would love suburb or country life over anything else. As we all age, the quiet life becomes the dream life! Polly gets along well with other dogs, but as a mature lady, she appreciates calm companions who respect her relaxed vibe. When introduced to new dogs she calmly shared space with small interactions here and there. Overall, its easy to see the Polly is for the people and will be more than happy as a solo-dog. A cat-free home would also be ideal, but Polly has done wonderful with everything else, enjoying kids and car-rides Polly is an easy, lovable dog who asks for little but gives so much in return. Apply today to bring this gentle soul into your life—you won’t regret it! ❤️ Apply Today! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/674fa826d0df41f1590882ab Questions? Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!  Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission! Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms.
