Story
Freddy was chained at a property in Cancun. Very short chain with limited access to food and water. He was very thin with skin issues, and basically neglected, yet his sunny disposition still shone. After being rescued, he blossomed into an incredible dog. Somewhat territorial with other males (his "job" having been to protect the property where he'd been living); he does get along with most dogs and all people. He has a sweet, inherent spirit. From our website: FREDDY✨ 😎 Breed: terrier/australian shepherd mix 🐶 Age 3 years 🌍 Location: Cancun, Mexico but we will bring him to Lake Tahoe for adoption in the future 💙 Male 📏 Size: medium ⚖️ Weight: 12 kg (26 lbs) 🩺Vetting: Full vaccine complete, Puppy, Quíntuple Rabies, Bordatella. Dewormed, Spayed/ Neutered, 4DX snap, Nexgarde/Simparica. Healthy. 💃Energy: ACTIVE 🐶Dog Friends: Yes 🐱Cat Friends: We think so. He seems to not react to cats at all beyond normal curiosity. There were cats at the property he was rescued from, along with ducks. 👧🏽 Friends: Yes – he has been friendly with dogs but he can be unpredictable. He can react to other male dogs but seems to do fine with females (in his space).. He is an ACTIVE absolutely loving boy and definitely one’s best friend ⛓Leash etiquette: Yes 🥘 Resource guarding: He was chained to a tree for 3 years so food is his main interest for now He is very obedient when spoken to and well behaved but needs a little of basic training, everything is new for him 📣 Bark/noisy: Will bark only to communicate and sometimes when he is excited and happy 🏡 Housebroken: Yes ⛓ Leash etiquette: Yes ! 🚙 Good in car: Yes, calm in the car! TEMPERAMENT FREDDY is an incredibly sweet and loving dog, very calm. He would make for a great companion to someone who is looking for a companion, he loves to be around people and Freddy is beginning to explore the world. He also would be great with a family, as he already has shown gentle affection. Freddy is currently working with a trainer in Cancun to overcome his territorial issues. We would love him to go to a very special person/family due to his rough beginning. With the right people, he will make a very good companion.

Story
Meet Gus — a brave boy who’s finally learning how to shine. Gus was rescued from the Downey shelter euthanasia list, where he was so terrified that he would only crawl on the ground. He had clearly experienced a lot in his young life, but this gentle soul never stopped hoping for a second chance. Thanks to his amazing foster mom, Gus has blossomed. With confidence, structure, and love, he’s learned that the world isn’t so scary after all. He’s gaining manners, trust, and joy every single day — showing just how resilient and special he is. Gus is about 4 years old, a handsome Belgian Malinois/Shepherd mix, and still young enough to enjoy adventures while mature enough to appreciate calm moments with his people. He’d thrive in a home that can give him continued structure, love, and a safe place to keep growing into the incredible dog he’s becoming. &#226&#156&#168 Age: 4 years &#226&#156&#168 Breed: Belgian Malinois / Shepherd mix &#226&#156&#168 Temperament: Loyal, smart, gaining confidence, eager to bond &#226&#156&#168 Location: Foster care in California Gus has come so far — now he just needs his forever person to complete his story.October 21, 2025, 5:13 pm
