Story
Denver was rescued from a county shelter after being there over a month. Sadly I have been put in the tough situation to rehome. Denver is a sweet boy who adores other dogs. He will need a string leader dedicated to training. I am happy to chat more about him and our situation.

Story
Zinnia Noelle Breed: Anatolian Shepherd Mix Gender: Female Estimated Birthday: 10/20/2021 Current Weight: 65 Pounds House & Crate Trained: Yes Adoption Fee: $265 --===================== Hi, I’m Zinnia Noelle! I was out on my own as a stray before I was rescued. The humans think I might be about 2 or 3 years old. Now I’m learning a lot at my foster home about good manners and look forward to settling in to my forever home! I’m learning well because I’m easy to redirect and am treat-motivated (yum!). I take some time to warm up to new situations and people. After I feel comfortable, I am lovey-dovey and enjoy being with my people and snuggling. If I want attention, I might paw at you - hey! If I haven’t seen you all day, I might be so excited that I jump (oh right, I’m learning I shouldn’t do that!). I like my foster’s teenager, but haven’t yet been seen around younger kids. I get along well with other dogs and cats. I’m actually pretty curious about cats and squirrels! Playing with other dogs is super fun (if I get rowdy, just redirect me)! I can tend to be on the alpha side and I’ve been seen herding other dogs. To be safe, it’s a good idea to introduce me slowly to larger dogs. I enjoy chewing on bones and toys, so much that I’ve stolen them from my foster sibling, and have even stolen the humans’ shoes and stuffed animals (still learning what’s OK to chew on). I love to be outside, running around and playing with other dogs (I’ve got medium energy). While I adjust to a new home, a 6-foot fence would be preferable, at least until I prove that I won’t run away. I’m totally house trained and also like my kennel. I walk pretty well on a leash, but it’s kind of new so I’m getting better. Let’s be buddies and practice together! Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Zinnia Noelle is $265 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only. Due to our thorough adoption process including home visits, we limit our adoptions to local families in the greater Charlotte area. - If you have any additional questions, email us at dogs@c2cnd.org and we will respond as soon as possible!

Story
This gentle giant is Herman! Herman is a one-year-old Anatolian Shepherd mix, who currently weighs around 80 pounds, but once he gains all the weight he needs, he should max out between 120 – 130 pounds. Herman is a great big love bug, who thinks he is a lap pet, loves playing with the other dogs, of all sizes and ages, in his foster home, chewing on some bones and eating!! Herman loves to eat, which is surprising since he is underweight by almost 30 pounds.  Because Herman was deprived of food, he will not be the typical size of an Anatolian, but we will get him as close as possible to it. Herman is doing crate on his crate training, he does talk for a few minutes before settling down, and is working on his house training, but this is more than likely due to just getting neutered. Based on Herman’s personality we do not expect any issues with children, except he is a big puppy and could knock them over, and he has not been around cats so they are unknown If you are interested in adopting Herman, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.   **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. **  September 17, 2024, 8:56 pm

Story
Tall Titan, is a strong and remarkable  Warrior, a dog that has fought to be alive and walking  today on this earth.  He has willed himself to come from the depths of pain and starvation to become this handsome boy that you see right now.  He is our Super Hero Pup and our example of a creature that has never given up even when it would have been easier to just go to sleep and never wake up.  When Titan came to a rescue lady’s house that Critter Cavalry knows, this boy was malnourished and just a skeleton of the puppy he should be as a Great Dane.  The lady has a love for the Danes and she asked CCR to please take him into our rescue before she fell in love and couldn’t let him go.  She had enough dogs and just felt the temptation to keep him was too great.  We agreed and soon Titan was ours to raise and get prepped for a new home and family.  Shortly afterwards his foster family noticed he was struggling to walk and his joints were inflamed. Titan was taken to several vets before receiving the diagnosis of  Hypertrophic osteodystrophy (HOD). He has been put on a regimen of medications, high calorie food and hydrotherapy and is now running, jumping and playing with other dogs. His favorite things to do are play with toys, run and nap in the sun. Titan is a large dog and will do best in a home with another large dog or two that he will be able to play with. He will continue to need medication intermittently for some time and to be followed by a veterinarian.  If you have large breed dog experience and are willing to take on this fellas special needs please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue. He is not house trained to hold longer than 4 hours.  He needs to eat separately at mealtimes and he needs to learn better how to play with his toys in a group setting if there are other dogs.  If he is the only dog then there is no special monitoring.  Titan rides like a champ in the car or truck and he is definitely crate trained with good dog/name recall.  He would be easier to watch in the yard if you had a real physical fence installed since he likes to wander off out of curiosity.   Please email Critter Cavalry at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested.  He is great with young children/boys that are rough and tumble and lots of noise. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comSeptember 18, 2024, 4:32 pm

Story
Quick Facts: Estimated Birthday: 1/24/2023 Breed: Great Dane Mix Size: roughly 105 pounds House Trained: Yes Athena came to the rescue after an amazing bystander overheard her owners planning to dump her at a dog park! This hero bystander jumped in and contacted us about taking in the dog. Athena Darla may be a big girl, but she only has two speeds: 1. Play hard with other dogs, and 2. cuddle on the couch with a chew toy. Her favorite activity is playing with her foster dog brother, who is roughly about her size. She loves to cuddle with him and run in the yard with him. She is also a trained shadow to humans and will follow you around the house. A true definition of a velcro dog. Athena Darla is very dog-friendly to both large and small dogs. She walks well on a leash but does not enjoy car rides. She won’t fight it, but it’s her least favorite activity. She has not been cat tested at this time. Athena Darla is fully potty-trained, but she will be resistant on rainy days. A girl can't get her paws wet. Athena Darla does best crated while unattended for her safety. She can be a bit nosey and gets into things. She will need a heavy-duty crate in her forever home. Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Athena Darla is $465 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only.
