Story
Meet Sage  Age: 4 years Breed: Anatolian Shepherd Mix Weight: ~80 lbs Sage is a beautiful, intelligent Anatolian Shepherd mix who truly embodies what her breed was meant to be. At nearly 80 pounds, she is a confident, athletic girl who loves people and enjoys staying active—but her heart really shines when she’s doing what Anatolians were bred for: guarding and bonding with livestock. Sage has shown herself to be exceptionally friendly and gentle with farm animals and would thrive in a home where she can serve as a livestock companion or guardian, forming close bonds with her animal charges. Being outdoors with her companions is where she is happiest and most fulfilled. While Sage adores people and enjoys human companionship, she does have some boundaries that should be respected. She does not like her neck area to be grabbed or pulled, so a knowledgeable, respectful handler who understands canine body language will help her feel safe and confident. Because she enjoys spending time outdoors, Sage will require proper shelter to protect her from extreme heat, cold, or inclement weather. A secure, well-managed farm or rural environment where she can move freely, observe her surroundings, and carry out her natural instincts would be ideal. Sage’s highlights: Loyal, loving, and people-friendly, Active and confident, Excellent with farm animals,  True to her Anatolian guardian instincts,  Best suited for a rural or farm setting, Requires respectful handling and appropriate outdoor shelter Sage isn’t just looking for a home—she’s looking for a purpose. If you have livestock and are seeking a devoted, watchful companion who will take her role seriously while still enjoying human affection, Sage may be the perfect match. Ready to give Sage the environment where she can truly thrive If you are interested in adopting Sage, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.   **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. ** February 15, 2026, 8:37 pm

Story
Athena can be a little shy/skittish, but is the sweetest girl you will ever meet. She loves running around and playing outside and warms up quickly to other dogs/people. Athena is great with kids, smart, and loves getting her snuggles. I have had no behavioral issues with Athena and she would make a great family pet. We would love for Athena to go to a family that can give her the time and space that unfortunately we no longer can. Her brother, Atlas (other profile/same litter), is also up for adoption.

We want Atlas to go to a home with space to run and a family that can give him all of the time and affection he can get. His sister, Athena (other profile/same litter as Atlas), is also up for adoption.
