If their names didn’t give it away, Uno and Dos are brothers — two matching hearts who’ve spent their whole young lives side by side. At just 9 months old, they each weigh about 20 pounds… though with those giant ears, it might be closer to 40.Together, they’re playful and silly, a little comedy duo when no one’s watching. But when people are near, the laughter fades, and shyness takes over. It isn’t their fault. Until they came to HCAS, the only world they knew was an outdoor kennel -- no gentle hands, no toys, no one to show them that people can be kind.Since arriving here, Uno and Dos have made quiet but remarkable progress. Every wag, every lean, every brave step closer to a person is a victory for them. They’re learning that love doesn’t always mean fear.These boys will need someone patient — someone who understands that trust can’t be rushed. Uno and Dos don’t have to be adopted together, but each would blossom with a respectful, confident dog friend to show them how the good life can be.They may have started in the shadows, but with the right person, their story could become something truly beautiful.

Story
Nala is a sweet, 4.5 yr old dog. She was purchased as a puppy from a local farm. We had hoped to use her as an outdoor guard dog. But she is a roamer and is constantly jumping the fence to roam around and then returns on her own when she is done exploring. Our neighbors dont appreciate the regular visits from Nala. She is definitely an outdoor dog, however she is a sweetheart and, given the chance, would most likely love the indoors as she just wants all the belly rubs and attention she can get.
