Story
This handsome boy was picked up running at large and based on Facebook posts it was about his third or fourth offense, but no one claimed him. We are guessing that he was a failure at being a livestock guardian because he’s way too social. He’s always wanting to visit someone new. Charlie is a little over a year old and weighs 121 lbs. He was very thin when he first came to us but is now at his perfect weight. He is neutered, up to date on required vaccines, microchipped and heartworm tested negative. He’s house trained and he loves other dogs, but he is a big guy. He also will require a tall fence, and you will have to keep an eye on him because again he likes to visit new people. He also has an obsession with deer! For that reason, a privacy fence would be ideal if you have deer around your home. He’s affectionate and likes to lean on you. He is learning commands like sit and stay and he really tries to please! This is what his foster mom says about him " Charlie is amazing. He is housebroken, loves to be hugged, hasn’t chewed anything up, likes to play but is content just to chill. He walks beautifully on a leash and likes to say hi to everyone he meets. Charlie enjoys sitting and looking out the window, hanging around in the kitchen especially when I’m cooking and going for car rides". Although this breed is known for having a stubborn streak, Charlie seems to understand a few commands wait, it’s ok, no, come, let’s go and he will even sit for a treat. But his favorite is Good Boy Charlie❤️" This guy would be a great dog for an active loving family. He’s so sweet! If you would like to be Charlie’s forever family, please email dogs4mylife@ gmail.com or olmc7@ hotmail.com. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application   HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see   HERE Age: 2 yrs. as of 4/8/26 Weight: 52 lbs. as of 4/8/26 This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Dani Bea is a bright, outgoing, incredibly friendly young dog who wins people over in seconds. She has a warm sable coat, expressive dark eyes, and a happy, eager‑to‑connect energy that makes her feel like sunshine in dog form. Dani takes to “her person” quickly — she bonds fast, loves deeply, and follows affection with joyful enthusiasm. She’s confident, social, and wonderfully easy to have around the home, settling in like she’s always belonged there. Dani comes from a hoarding situation, but she's emerged with a remarkably resilient, affectionate temperament. She lived in large outdoor kennels with multiple dogs, which explains why she’s so comfortable with canine friends of all sizes and why she reads canine social cues beautifully. She’s playful, friendly, and thrives in the company of other dogs. (Maybe cats too, but we don't know.) Inside the home, Dani is a star. Easy, affectionate, well behaved, and gentle, she loves kids and would make a wonderful match for a family looking for a friendly, steady, kid‑compatible companion. She's described as sweet, friendly, and eager to please, with good manners and a perfect crate‑training score. She rides well in the car, has a nice energy level, and is the kind of dog who adapts quickly to new routines. Dani's ready to bond quickly, fit in easily, and bring warmth and happiness wherever she goes. Note: Caregivers of dogs from hoarding situations should be prepared for quirks as well as fear of normal household things/life, people, and excursions.  Adopters of dogs like these need to be looking to adopt to help the dog, not so much to get a pet for themselves with specific expectations of the pet.  While dogs from hoarding situations can make great pets, they need a home and lifestyle that is gentle, accommodating and will be forgiving as their needs and personalities unfold.  Here is a great resource:  https://www.washingtonpashelter.org/understanding-and-caring-for-rescued-hoarded-dogs/ An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see   HERE   for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website:   Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org)   **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 12, 2026, 12:18 pm

Story
Smiley's foster family says he is a charm!!!! Absolutely loves kids. He is chill overall but does get a bit excited around kids so older kids might be best. He likes to play with his lab mix foster sister and then wants to sit in the kiddie pool. Someone was giving him away as a livestock guardian dog but he had other ideas----he would rather be inside snuggling and relaxing rather than out in the field. So they surrendered him. That's one of the best fails ever. 94 lbs. pyr /anatolian mix. Neutered. Up to date on vaccines. www.sunnypawsrescue.org

Story
Meet Tumbles, a gorgeous girl with a goofy personality and a smile that can light up any room. This big, beautiful pup was found as a stray down south. After a few weeks in a southern foster home, recovering from mange and getting acclimated with living in a home, Tumbles arrived in New England at the end of April. She is absolutely thriving now, and at just 4.5 months old and already 32 lbs, she is well on her way to becoming a truly big, beautiful girl. Just look at how her coat has grown in!Tumbles is a lover through and through. She adores people, soaks up every pet and cuddle, and her tail simply never stops wagging. She is fantastic with other dogs, friendly and submissive, and absolutely adores kids. Whether she is romping with other dogs, playing with her toys, chewing a bone in her bed, or just hanging out with her people, she is happy as can be.Tumbles has already come so far. She has mastered stairs, walks on a leash, is mostly potty trained, crates beautifully through the night and during the day as needed, and is an angel in the car. She is working hard on her leash manners (wildlife is exciting!) and basic training, and her sweet, eager nature makes every lesson a joy.Tumbles still has a whole world to discover, and she will thrive with a patient family who is committed to continuing her training and giving her the guidance she deserves. If you are ready to welcome a joyful, sweet-souled pup into your home, Tumbles is ready for you.Name: TumblesBreed: Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd   (Breed Mix is not guarantee - no DNA testing has been done)Sex: FemaleAge: 19 weeks as of 5/10/26Weight: 32lbs as of 5/10/26Spayed/Neutered: Too young - Spay/Neuter Contract will be required and strictly enforced.Vaccinations: Puppy vaccines will be up to date. We can provide adopters with a list of low-cost SN clinics when requested. ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS:  You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience.  This requirement is for your benefit and your puppy's, so if you experience behavioral issues, you have a point of contact.  PLEASE—Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life.
