Story
This handsome boy was picked up running at large and based on Facebook posts it was about his third or fourth offense, but no one claimed him. We are guessing that he was a failure at being a livestock guardian because he’s way too social. He’s always wanting to visit someone new. Charlie is a little over a year old and weighs 110 lbs. He was very thin when he first came to us but is now at his perfect weight. He is neutered, up-to-date on required vaccines, microchipped and heartworm tested negative. He’s house trained and he loves other dogs, but he is a big guy. He also will require a tall fence and you will have to keep an eye on him because again he likes to visit new people. He’s affectionate and likes to lean on you. He is learning commands like sit and stay and he really tries to please! This is what his foster mom says about him " Charlie is amazing. He is housebroken, loves to be hugged, hasn’t chewed anything up, likes to play but is content just to chill. He walks beautifully on a leash and likes to say hi to everyone he meets. Charlie enjoys sitting and looking out the window, hanging around in the kitchen especially when I’m cooking and going for car rides. Although this breed is known for having a stubborn streak, Charlie seems to understand a few commands wait, it’s ok, no, come, let’s go and he will even sit for a treat. But his favorite is Good Boy Charlie❤️" This guy would be a great dog for an active loving family. He’s so sweet! Sam is a 7-year-old sweetheart who is looking for a new home. We don’t know much about his past, but what we do know is that he’s a thoughtful, sensitive guy who appreciates a calm approach and a little extra patience. Sam can be worried when meeting someone new, so he’ll do best with adopters who understand the value of taking things slow and letting him settle in at his own pace. Once he’s comfortable, he enjoys spending time in the yard, leisurely sniffing around and taking in all the interesting scents the world has to offer.He has no known history with cats or children, so any introductions would need to be careful and respectful of his comfort level. Sam could be a great match for a home with a mellow, easygoing dog who won’t overwhelm him too much. If you’re looking for a quiet companion and have the patience to help a shy but sweet dog come out of his shell, Sam may be the perfect addition to your family!
