A program launched to make an impactful difference for our partner shelters in Texas facing the overpopulation of animals with limited resources and low adoption rates. We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own! A Note from the Foster: Angie is a great girl who is doing well settling into foster care! She is very friendly, LOVES other dogs, and seems to be unbothered/unphased by cats. She does good with children as well and all people. She is potty trained as long as she goes out routinely. She is good in the crate and sleeps soundly at night in there. She is a funny, friendly, and beautiful girl who hopes to find her forever home soon!

History: 🧡 From Texas to Midwest 🤠—- A group of deserving dogs was recently welcomed as part of our Texas Transport Program! A program launched to make an impactful difference for our partner shelters in Texas facing the overpopulation of animals with limited resources and low adoption rates. We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own! Napoleon has been diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia and early onset arthritis. The ball part of his hip joints are sitting outside of their sockets. This is a congenital issue, meaning he was born with it, and it is already causing some early arthritic changes. He has muscle loss over his hips, stiffness, and some pain, particularly when extending his left hind leg. Potential long-term surgical options include total hip replacement or another procedure to remove the ball part of the joint (femoral head ostectomy). For now, the best approach is to focus on non-surgical management. While in rescue, he has been working with a specialist to build up the muscles around his hips to provide better support, which will help keep him comfortable and functional. This will also lead to a better outcome if he does need surgery in the future.

Hollie is a lovely dog. She was found in an abandoned home, left with no food or water and rescued. Since then, she has gained weight and found her playful side. She loves to play with other dogs and puppies and will match energy, she is very gentle with dogs and cats that are smaller than her. She is food motivated and loves a good treat. She walks right past and ignores most cats.She is fully housetrained, and is beginning to learn commands but already knows to go outside or come inside and to go to bed. She does love to cuddle and enjoys good tummy scratches. She likes to share a bed with her person and will cuddle you all night, no heater needed!

I am likely not a purebred Anatolian; I share a lot of characteristics with Great Pyrenees, another big, floofy breed. Both breed are guardians at heart. I am a little shy when I first meet people, but soon warm up, especially with children. I am also shy at first with other dogs, unless they are trying to butt in when you are loving on me! I love to eat. I am crate trained. I’m learning to love being brushed. Cats are ok. Digging random holes in the backyard is a lot of fun. I would love to become part of your family!
