Story
Hello there! I'm Dutch, and I'm on a quest to find my perfect forever home, complete with a new best friend – and I hope that friend is you! It's a mystery to me why no one has scooped me up yet, but I promise I have so much love to give. I'm just the right size, weighing in at a comfortable 45 pounds, and I'm absolutely thriving in my foster home. Playing keep-away with toys and frolicking around with my canine foster siblings is a blast! I'm bursting with energy, like any pup my age, so I'll need plenty of exercise and a patient teacher as I continue to learn and grow. My foster family has been guiding me on the dos and don'ts around the house, helping me understand what's fair game for chewing and what's off-limits. I have mastered "sit" and am working on "down". Socks do hold a special allure for me, but I'm working on it – a home with young kids who tend to leave things lying around might not be the best fit for me. I am a pro at potty training as long as I get my regular outdoor breaks. I'm quite content in my kennel when my foster family is away, and I even sleep through the night without a fuss after tiring myself out with some playtime. I'm a social butterfly, and I adore everyone I meet, whether they're human or canine. My happy-go-lucky demeanor has earned me the title of "the happiest dog ever," and I wouldn't harm a fly. While I've never met a cat, I'd be curious about them and probably want to play – no harm intended! I can't wait to continue growing and learning to be the best boy ever in my forever home. If you think we'd make a great team, please fill out an application so we can meet and start our adventure together soon! Don't pass me up! I'm a real charmer!   ##1749756##

Story
Hello, my name is Kyra! I’m an 8 year old Great Dane weighing about 100 pounds. I know I’m a little older, but don’t let that fool you, I’m full of energy, healthy, and love to go on walks. I’m very friendly with everyone, cats, kids, dogs, and even a pig! I know sit, speak, shake, and stay. I walk great on a leash. I am fully potty trained and will tell you when I need to go. I prefer to have my own space when I eat, and I don't like sharing my kennel as it's my safe space. Overall I'm the best girl though and I’d love a home and family to spend the rest of my golden years with.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.February 23, 2024, 9:59 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  DOB: 08/02/2017 Requires another dog in home: No Okay with dogs of all sizes: His size or smaller Okay with cats: No Okay with children under 12 years old: Yes Weight: 75 lbs Food Fed: Raw Bistro Requires a fenced yard:   No Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hello! My name is Zeus and I have one of the most handsome faces you will ever see! I came to MN from a shelter in Arkansas and I’m so happy my friends at Underdog are taking such great care of me! I wasn’t in the best shape and my dear foster family is feeding me healthy foods, giving me medicated baths to take care of my skin issues and helping me heal. You would not believe how much my skin has healed and how amazing it feels to have healthy fur!  When I came, I had very little fur and my vet team thinks I was eating bad foods (maybe from eating off the streets) and was malnourished.  They also think I was having issues that were caused from past over use of antibiotics because some meds we tried didn't seem to phase me.  I don't recall my full past, so it's been quite the journey, but this new life full of love and attention is just SO great! I cant wait for my own forever family to find me.   I am great with all the other dogs in my foster home – there are an assortment of dogs and I am a very gentle and good boy with everyone. I like to clean their ears and be near my friends. I love to play with dogs my size, but because my medication I can become a little overstimulated over food or super yummy treats so will need to be supervised. I was very malnourished before coming to Underdog so put a lot of value on my food. To help with this, all the dogs in my foster home are fed separately. Speaking of meal time – I do have a special diet so my skin issues don’t flair up again. I like Raw Bistro beef or bison. My foster family has tried so many foods before they found one that wouldn’t irritate my skin. We tried kibble, canned food, vet prescribed food and thankfully found a quality raw food. I love it! I will need my forever family to continually monitor my skin issues and be in touch with a vet if I start to have flair ups again. My ideal home would have dogs my size or smaller that will respect my space when I have food or treats. I don’t really like getting bossed around so a dog that doesn’t demonstrate dominate traits would be a good match. I am doing great with all my dog skills – I am crate trained and potty trained. But … I have a little secret. I do dribble a little pee when I sleep so my people put a potty pad in my bed just in case. Embarrassing, right? I’m trying my best but likely it is because my medications. I don’t need a fenced yard in my forever home but would appreciate it so we can run around the play. All I need now is a forever home with lots of patience, unconditional love and a big ol’ dog bed for me to relax. Can’t wait to meet you! Read more about my preferred food here:  https://dogfoodreviews.com/raw-bistro-dog-food-reviews/raw-raw-bistro/raw-bistro-grain-free-beef-recipe-raw-dog-food/ *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a  particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.       ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    DOB: 02/08/2021 Requires another dog in home: No, picky about her friends Okay with dogs of all sizes: Not good with small dogs - read more in profile  Okay with cats: No, dog savvy cats only Okay with children under 12 years old: Older, considerate kids only Requires a fenced yard: No Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hello, my name is Raquel. I am a stunning, wrinkly-faced young adult female Belgian Malinois/Boxer mix with an adorable underbite who’s the perfect mix of energetic and relaxed. I am an unpredictable gal with a high prey drive so cats are not a good fit for me; I’m reactive when it comes to other dogs or unknown/sudden sounds like bikes whizzing by etc.; and I’m a pack follower so if there’s a fight, I may feel compelled to join the chaos. That said, I went to a training facility where there were many other dogs and I did great so I think with time, patience, and continued training I may overcome these ‘quirks’ of mine!! Hee, hee! Anyway, my favorite activities include cuddling with my people; going for leashed walks; snoozing on the couch; eating; playing with squeaky toys; chewing on bones/sticks; chasing the cat; chilling with my canine sib; running zoomies; and barking at strangers outside! I don’t like a lot of commotion and have been known to bite if someone comes into the house when foster mom is not home. I am, however, a very smart girl who will not only give myself a kenneled ‘time-out’ if I’m barking too much but I am potty trained and I know commands like “sit”, “down”, “kennel/crate”, and “heel”! Seriously, how brilliant am I!?! I am a great listener too which makes training a lot easier! Hee, hee!! I know that I’m a bit unpredictable right now but I’m still young and I really am a sweetheart who simply wants to find unconditional love in my own furever home with a patient family who will NEVER give up on me! My heart is SO full of love that I really want to share with YOU…please be my new family, I assure you I’m worth it! Love Raquel NOTE: Raquel has had a DNA test and is 38% Belgian Malinois, 18% Boxer and 17% American Pitbull Terrier Note that this dog has been treated for heartworm  and will need monthly heartworm preventatives year round for life.  Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.
