Story
Hi! I’m Sheila, I'm 8 years old and done being a mama! I’m enjoying my new life in Minnesota learning to play and looking forward to retiring on a couch, eating treats, playing with my toys, and snuggling up with my people. I’ve been spending my days dancing around my foster home trying out ALL the toys and ALL the beds, sniffing ALL the smells in the backyard, and taking naps both inside and out. Things I’ve learned I love are attention, treats, attention, toys (especially squeaky ones), attention, breakfast and dinner, attention, and sitting in laps. And did I mention attention? Things I’m figuring out is pottying outside (I know to go outside, but usually go inside once a day just because i want to!), which things/plants are ok to chew (hint- phone charger cords are NOT ok), and sometimes other dogs (I want ALL your attention!) I play tug and chase with the right companion but they need to be ok with me being the boss. Things I’m not a fan of are storms and loud noises, strangers, and the super cold weather. I don’t know or care what cats are- boring! I’m poodly smart with a big personality and would love to learn more games and might benefit from working with a trainer to help me learn to share if I end up living with other dogs. I can get a little jealous and bossy!  I will let you know if it sounds like anyone is coming home so living in a place with shared walls won't work for me as all those noises make me anxious and our neighbors won't like me letting them all know!  I will also answer if I hear other dogs calling me, ignoring them would be rude! I don't really like the leash but love to go outside in my fenced in yard to go potty, so I will definitely need a fence!  Zoomies in the yard or chasing my people are enough exercise for me. What I want most in life is to snuggle my BFF and eat treats. Can you be that BFF? Meet Goldilock. She came in as a breeder release. This means she has spent her life in a kennel having babies. Due to this she is just now learning to be a dog and needs someone willing to be patient with her as she learns. When she first came into the rescue, she was scared to the point of paralysis. Since then she continues to come out of her shell and really learn who she is a dog and what she enjoys doing. She loves being outside in the yard sniffing around. Being outside in the yard is also when you really see her silly personality come out. She will do the puppy bow and prance around the yard and loves to be chased. Because of this, having a fenced-in yard is requested but not required. She has had no accidents in the house and has only gone potty outside. While in the house, she is calm and gentle. She spends the majority of the time in the house laying on one of her dog beds. She will come up and sniff me and allow me to pet her. She does shed, but she lets me brush her. She got groomed so there are some before and after pictures with her new haircut! She weighs about 43 pounds.  She is just the sweetest and most gentle girl! Story
I'm  Robert  and am 2 years old. I'm a mini golden doodle. I have a luscious brown coat with hints of white.  I recently moved to MN on January 21, 2024 to enjoy my retirement from breeding. I am learning to be a dog and have bursts of puppy energy. I got along well with my foster sister before she was adopted and resident cats. I would prefer to have a pup sibling to keep me company in my future home. I am shy around humans and it takes me a little bit to warm up. Loud or sudden movements can be scary and I tend to get skittish or anxious. I don't mind the little humans trying to cuddle with me but I do keep my distance as they tend to make lots of sudden movements. I prefer the calm adult but do love to give the kids lots of kisses. I am learning to play with toys and chew on them.  I love doing zoomies in the backyard and am learning to walk with a harness/leash.  I go out pretty regularly to do my potty business and have only had two #2 accidents in the house because the human didn't read my body cues fast enough. I'm a bit of a talker when I hear all these noises that I haven't heard before, like a TV or someone entering a room without letting me know.  I'm not used to being alone so this can make me feel stressed but I do go in my kennel when the humans are away. I also am sleeping through the night in my kennel. My human puts on the sound machine which helps to tune out all the other noises. I am enjoying being a dog and love to give kisses.
