Story
Bear is a 1.5-year-old Aussie Doodle who loves to run, hike, and curl up for snuggles when the day is done. He’s bright, loyal, and eager to please — the perfect mix of poodle smarts and Aussie heart. Bear has been working with a professional trainer and already knows his basics, walks nicely on leash, and is learning to greet new people calmly. He’ll thrive with an active person or family who enjoys getting outside and keeping a steady routine. Bear bonds deeply, loves other dogs when introduced thoughtfully, and would do best where he can stretch his legs and be part of everyday life. Our family of five loves Bear deeply, but between busy kid schedules and limited yard space, we know he deserves a home that can give him more time and freedom to run. He’s ready for a family who can match his energy and continue helping him grow — and he’ll give back endless love in return.

Story
“TUCKER” is a beautiful creamy white AKC Standard Poodle who was born June 23, 2015. He weighs a healthy 71 pounds and measures 25 inches from the floor to his withers. This pretty boy was one of many Poodles who came to us in April of 2024 from a Minnesota breeder who was retiring. She wanted the best homes for her Poodles as they enter their “retirement” years. Tucker was adopted but sadly has just been returned to us as his new family had a life-changing event and could no longer keep Tucker. When Tucker first came to us from the breeder, he quickly learned all about being a family dog. He followed us around our home while being a part of our family, knew how to come when called, sat upon command and was always ready for hugs and attention. We had taken him to various public events, including several softball games that our grandchildren were playing in. While there, he had a good time enjoying the noise, commotion, and people all around him. He also received and enjoyed a lot of love, attention and hugs from many of the children at the games. Then before Tucker was first adopted, he had been placed on a “hold” as he had torn (ruptured) his right rear leg “Cruciate Ligament”. Humans have a similar experience, but it’s called a torn “ACL”. A Specialist was called in, and a surgery was done to fix his torn ACL and meniscus. This surgery is very expensive (thousands), but Tucker was in pain, and he needed our help. And for those of you who asked or questioned our decision: We will not euthanize any healthy Poodle when a highly successful surgery is available! WE THEN CELEBRATED that Tucker completely recovered from his surgery with no problems! And then he was quickly adopted. He was sad to come back to us, but is now ready for his new family. Tucker is still a quiet, soft, gentle, easy-going big boy, a real cream puff. Going for his daily 2 mile walk with Mike when he listens to the birds sing, watching the squirrels running around and meeting people, is on the TOP of his list of fun things he loves to do. I would also like to stress that he is a very smart boy and has quickly figured out what to do and when. Example, rattle the Cheerios bag and he knows it’s time for breakfast as Mike sneaks Tucker a few Cheerios from the bag. Did I tell you that he is such a very smart and a very good boy?! While Tucker has been around other dogs all his life, he completely ignores small dogs but is just fine with other easy-going large dogs, like our Standard Poodle Lola and Millie (who secretly has a crush on Tucker). Yet, Tucker has been a perfect boy all by himself as he considers himself a member of a family and NOT a dog. He continues to love greeting people who come to visit, is completely housetrained and has full access to our entire home all day, at night and when we are gone. Such a good boy! *A SECURLY FENCED YARD will be recommended as he has been a kennel dog and used to a fenced yard. *You must be physically able to handle a large Standard Poodle. *Preference will be given to a quiet family with past Standard Poodle experience. *Large, easy-going dogs are fine. BUT PLEASE: *NO puppies or cats. *NO aggressive or assertive dogs (they scare him and me). *NO young children. *Like most all rescue groups, we do NOT adopt our Poodles to homes more than 1 day’s drive (round trip) from our location here in central Minnesota. He has been neutered and at his dental appointments, he had many of his rotting teeth removed. He is now eating a hard kibble, so there is no need for soften or canned dog food. Our Vet also removed a few small non-cancerous cysts from Tuckers back and side. Yes, all his Vet work was very expensive. But Tucker is such an amazing loving, smart and good boy that we want the best for him. Everyone loves him, including the staff at our Vet’s office as they all wanted to take him home! He has been Vet checked healthy, is up to date on vaccinations, worming, heartworm/lymes/Ehrlich/ Anaplasmosis (4DX) tested negative, placed on a heartworm preventative, and Home Again microchipped. As with all the other Standard Poodles we have adopted, Tucker’s adoption fee is 1 million, trillion, zillion dollars. However, for the right family his adoption fee is $350.00 which includes $24.00 for our 7.375% Minnesota state sales tax and helps pay for just some of his extensive vet work. Also included is his leash, collar, a bag of quality dog food, a 10-gallon dog food container, treats, a cute toy box, along with a new blanket, a large, soft dog bed and lots of good information to help your Poodle adoption move forward on the right paw! Again, Tucker is a very nice Standard Poodle boy who wants and truly deserves a loving “forever more” home for his “retirement”. Story
“MILLIE” who is NOW AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION was born April 25, 2022, weighs a healthy 52 pounds, and stands at 25″ tall (floor to her withers). This sweet, extremely smart, silly, fun loving and sociable girl had been deeply loved and well cared for by a gal who was recently involved in a tragic car accident. Because her injuries required extensive surgeries and future medical care, she needed to find a good and loving home/family for her precious “Goldendoodle”. Everyone knows how I feel about “Doodles”, but our daughter and daughter-in-law know this gal and asked that I help. So yes. With open arms, we have accepted Millie into our program. But after Millie arrived and was bathed, shaved and groomed, this is what we then saw a POODLE!!! Yes. OMG! Amazing! Even with her undocked tail, what a beautiful Standard Poodle! MANY other dog knowledgeable people who have met with Millie totally agreed with me. An anonymous person has donated an “EMBARK dog DNA test”. A sample of Millie’s cheek swab was submitted and the results are: TO BE CONTINUED AS SOON AS WE HAVE THE RESULTS. Regardless of the results, Millie is such a nice, loving, very quiet girl. She greatly enjoys being with us and follows us all around the house to see what we were doing. Millie will muzzle your hand so you will pet her. She is very happy with the loving attention you can give her, including big warm hugs and belly rubs. She is always ready to meet new people, will shake their hand and sometimes will jump up on the people she meets; Yes, we’re working on that. Millie has been an only dog, but she has been perfectly fine with all our Poodles. As seen in the video, Millie ignores the other dogs as she greatly enjoys running in our securely fenced yard (zoomies) while trying to chase all the squirrels who are in the trees. Yes, Poodles were bred for hunting and her instincts are strong. She also loves playing with her toys, going for a car ride and especially enjoys our daily 2-mile walk. Then she can see more squirrels and meet more people! Millie is a perfect lady in our home (housetrained) and allowed to freely roam our home even while we are gone. She is very smart; will come, sit and stay when told to do so and knows when it’s time to eat (food motivated). *A SECURLY FENCED YARD will be required as Millie has always had one and loves to run those Poodle “zoomies”! *You must be physically able to handle a Standard Poodle. *Preference will be given to a family with past Poodle experience. *By herself or a friendly, large, fun loving dog would be just fine for her. BUT PLEASE: *NO small dogs, puppies or cats. *NO aggressive or assertive dogs (they scare her and me). *NO young children. *Like most rescue groups, we do NOT adopt our Poodles to homes more than 1 day’s drive (round trip) from our location here in central Minnesota. Millie has been Vet checked healthy, spayed, teeth cleaned, is up to date on her vaccinations, worming, has been microchipped and registered. Her heartworm/Lymes/Ehrlich/ Anaplasmosis (4DX) test was negative. Also included is her leash, collar, harness, toys, a bag of quality dog food, a dog food container, dog dishes, a warm sweater, treats, a cute toy box, her large soft dog bed with a blanket and lots of good information to help your Poodle’s adoption move forward on the right paw! As with all the other Standard Poodles we have adopted, Millie’s adoption fee is 1 million, trillion, zillion dollars. However, for the right family her adoption fee is $650.00 which includes $45.00 for our 7.375% Minnesota state sales tax.
