Story
Age: Almost 1.5 years old Weight: 48# Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Unknown Kid friendly: Yes, Older/considerate kids only Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes Tobias is an energetic 1.5-year-old standard poodle who loves to play with toys and especially his foster sister. He has a silly/goofy personality but is fairly quiet. He’s starting to vocalize a bit more as he’s learning from his foster sister, but overall is very quiet. Tobias will require a lot of patience in the beginning as it takes him some time to warm up to new people, but he so desperately wants all the affection and to just be part of the fun! He enjoys pets, belly rubs, and scratches when he does allow us to do those things. He’s definitely cautiously optimistic when it comes to affection! He would do best in a home with at least one other dog. We aren’t sure how well he would do with other children. He doesn’t seem to mind our 13-year-old but often growls at her when she enters a room for no apparent reason. We haven’t had him around young children, and because of that we don’t feel confident saying he’d be okay with them. He’s fully potty trained and has had no accidents. He does sometimes pee when frightened (like when we have to put his harness on to go somewhere or to give him a bath). Tobias sleeps well in a kennel overnight, and during the day we keep his kennel door open so he can go in and out as he pleases. His kennel has become his safe spot. He will go in there if a noise or sudden movement scares him. He eats and drinks very well. He’s definitely food and treat motivated! He also does very well in the car. We use a vehicle-safe tether that’s connected to the anchor in the back seat and the other end to the back of his harness. He would also do fine in a vehicle’s kennel. He needs some work on leash. He tends to walk in circles and doesn’t seem to like the leash much, which is possibly due to inexperience. We have a fenced backyard where he runs around, plays with his foster sister, and potties. He wants to be around the people and dogs in his home, even if he’s not quite ready to snuggle or get lots of pets. With the right family that will give him the time and patience he requires, we know that Tobias will be an excellent pet. We know the perfect family is out there and has no idea yet what an amazing addition he will make! Adoption Fee: $695

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.     Hi!  My name is Herbert but my foster mom calls me Bertie or Beanie.  She says I’m a sweet cuddle bug that doesn’t like being alone (I'll bark when my people are gone, to ask them to come back! Having a dog friend will help though - I lived with another dog friend in my last home and we were besties!).  I’m currently living with 2 cats and one little human and I’m doing very well with all of them. I do my business outside and I love to go on car rides and walks with them. I sleep through the night as long as I can have a nice blanket to sleep on. So if you’re looking for a handsome cuddle buddy, I’m definitely your guy!    Herbert is a 5 yo Standard Poodle who is 54lbs. He is crate trained (but doesn’t need it!), potty trained, fine with cats, good with kids, and a great listener! He's got basic obedience, and loves to be around his people and sleep in bed with them. Herbert would do best in a home with another dog for companionship, and/or someone who is home a lot.   Interested in adopting? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.        Hi, I'm Thora — your soon-to-be favorite fluffy goofball and lap-warmer extraordinaire (even if I’m all legs and slightly oversized for your lap). I'm a young Standard Poodle with a curly coat, a heart full of joy, and a bounce in my step that just won’t quit. At around 37 pounds and still growing into my paws, I’m basically a lanky teenager with a love for fetch, silly zoomies, and making new friends — both canine and human. If you throw a toy, I’ll chase it like it owes me money. If you’ve got a bully stick, I’ll look at you like you just told me I won the lottery. I’m crate trained (with a little pre-nap protest barking) and nearly potty trained — I’m so close, I swear! I walk on a leash like a polite young lady, though I do like to pause occasionally and dramatically ponder the mysteries of squirrels, birds, and garden gnomes. While I can be a little shy out in the big, wide world, I’m gaining confidence faster than you can say "treat" (especially if it’s freeze-dried beef). At home, I’m all about the cuddles, whether it's my head on your lap or my feet flopped across you like a fancy fur stole. I’d absolutely thrive in a home with a playful pup buddy, but I’m also cool with soaking up all the love from my humans if they’re around most of the time. I haven’t met any cats yet, but I’ve been a total sweetheart with dogs of all sizes and adore kiddos, too. So if you're looking for a curly-haired best friend who will fill your days with laughter, cuddles, and the occasional poodle-sized pirouette across the lawn, I’m your girl. Come meet me — I promise I’ll steal your heart faster than you can say “who’s a good dog?” **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  T his puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.   Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
Hi, I’m Emilia! I make friends with everyone I meet! I love people of all ages! I love to give kisses and be pet. Cuddling with you is my favorite. I like to be by your side whenever I can, but I won’t be upset if I can’t be. I also love other dogs. I live with a range of sizes between 5 and 100 pounds. I play with all of them. The biggest one is so silly and his size doesn’t bother me at all. I don't have any experience with a cat yet if you’re wondering. I’m learning to hang out in a kennel during the workday and for overnights. I’m cuddly, friendly, adventurous, curious, outgoing, playful, loving and gentle too - what do you say, maybe I can go home with you? Emilia is estimated to be 10 weeks old and 10 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested. If you are interested in meeting this dog please complete the adoption application on our website at https://safehandsrescue.org/adoption-process/ and then we can contact you about setting up a meeting. We are also holding the following upcoming adoption events! Saturday, June 7, 12:00-2:00pm, Pet Evolution, 5217 Excelsior Blvd, Minneapolis, MN 55416 https://www.facebook.com/events/1697341560873948 Saturday, June 14 1:00-3:00pm, Makwa Coffee; 2805 Hamline Ave N, Roseville, MN 55113 https://www.facebook.com/events/1389424555600384 Animal attendance is subject to change based on their availability. Please check our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/safehandsrescue/ for confirmed attendance the morning of the event.
