Pet Description: Jack is a 20-month-old male Heeler, 32 lbs, found as a stray, brought to us and never reclaimed. Great dog - very smart, active, responsive, good with FEMALE dogs but not male dogs. Jack is HIGH energy and loves to run! We have had to chase him down a few times even here so he needs a very active owner and a really good fence to keep him safe. A job to do would be best - on a farm with cattle maybe or doing dog sports. Jack would be ok with teens and older but is far too much for young children with his energy and intensity. Animal Control got a call one morning from a kind homeowner, who had a puppy in his yard. He had noticed the dog for a day or two and was able to “contain” the pup in his yard and then call AC. At the shelter his name is Boom! He is still a young puppy that will need lots of love, patience, and definitely some training in doggie manners. He has all of his vaccinations, he has a microchip, and he has been neutered. We think he is a cattle dog mix so he should be a nice medium size boy when he reaches his adult size.
