Story
Please make sure to read the narrative below our pet's photos as you will find a description of our pet with all we know about them, our adoption fee info, and you will find the link to do our online Adoption Application which is the first step in our Adoption Process!     Please read ALL below where you will find answers about the pet, our adoption fees and how to do our adoption application!   Pet Description:  Jack is a 20-month-old male Heeler, 32 lbs, found as a stray, brought to us and never reclaimed.  Great dog - very smart, active, responsive, good with FEMALE dogs but not male dogs.  Jack is HIGH energy and loves to run!  We have had to chase him down a few times even here so he needs a very active owner and a really good fence to keep him safe.  A job to do would be best - on a farm with cattle maybe or doing dog sports.  Jack would be ok with teens and older but is far too much for young children with his energy and intensity.   DOG ADOPTION FEE is $100. This Adoption fee includes: mandatory spay/neuter which will be done before you can take your dog or puppy home with you; basic canine immunizations (DHPP-CPV & Bordatella Intranasal); de-wormings; one-year rabies vaccination if old enough; heartworm test if over five months old; microchip from 24-Pet Watch; certificate for free health examination at your participating veterinarian; and a goodie bag chocked full of information, toys, and more.  (If a dog is sponsored or has a waived or lower fee, that info will be provided at the point of adoption to the approved adopter).   The first step is to our Adoption Application here:  https://elmorehumane.org/adoption-application-online-form2.html .   IMPORTANT – we respond to your emailed applications and queries via email back to you.  Please make sure you have either added our email  (hselco@bellsouth.net)  to your contact list or that you routinely check your SPAM folder for our response just to be safe. Story
Meet Sunni — aka Chilli, because she looks just like Bluey's mum! This five-year-old red heeler mix is housebroken, crate trained, and great with kids and adults. She's vocal when she wants to play but happiest cuddled up on the couch. She'd thrive with an active family who loves walks and adventures. Calm on a leash, not reactive, and fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped and heartworm negative. Sunni has been known to escape a yard, so be sure your gates are secure!

Story
Pete is a good boy that is looking for a new home. His “mom” and “dad” were having some big health issues that required special treatment and “down” time to recover. Pete will miss his “mom” and “dad”, but he knows they need to focus on their health. All of that to say that Pete is ready to find a new family to love! He has all of his vaccinations, he is heartworm negative, he has a microchip, and he has been neutered. Pete is almost a year old and he weighs a little over 70 pounds! Would you like to add this friendly guy to your “pack?”

Story
Animal Control got a call one morning from a kind homeowner, who had a puppy in his yard. He had noticed the dog for a day or two and was able to “contain” the pup in his yard and then call AC. At the shelter his name is Boom! He is still a young puppy that will need lots of love, patience, and definitely some training in doggie manners. He has all of his vaccinations, he has a microchip, and he has been neutered. We think he is a cattle dog mix so he should be a nice medium size boy when he reaches his adult size.
