Story
Murphy is a sweet 9-year-old mixed breed whom we adopted as a rescue puppy. She's been a wonderful companion and brings a lot of joy to our home. Now that we're retired, we're spending more time traveling, exploring the US by van. Unfortunately, Murphy isn't comfortable with van travel, so we're looking for a loving home where she'll receive plenty of affection, long walks, and outdoor adventures. Murphy adores being around people and children, and once she gets to know you, she's loyal and loving. She thrives in a peaceful setting and would be happiest as the only dog in the household, soaking up undivided attention and lots of cuddles. She prefers female companionship and can be hesitant with unknown men. She's healthy, weighs about 40 pounds, walks well on a leash, crate-trained, and is housebroken. Murphy would make a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys nature walks and hikes. We are committed to finding Murphy a family who will provide the loving home she deserves.

*Adoptions are currently by appointment. If you'd like to learn more or you are interested in adopting, please use the "Apply for Adoption" button to complete our adoption survey. This survey helps us learn more about you and answer any questions you may have, it is not a commitment to adopt.* Hi, I'm Freckles! I am still a pup - young, wild, and free! I love playtime, jumping around, kisses, walking on leash, and protecting. I can be timid around new people, so it's time to find a forever family to settle down with. Once I warm up, I like lap time and bonding play time. I am protective of my space when it comes to other dogs and would love to chase a cat, so the staff here recommends that I am a spoiled, single dog in my new space. If you are looking for a big energy bestie, fill out your adoption survey today!

Story
Hi, I’m Opal—a 5-year-old, spayed female cattle dog mix with the energy of a toddler on espresso and the snuggling skills of a professional blanket. My previous family couldn’t keep me, so now I’m on the lookout for a brand-new human to adore. Could it be you?I’m sweet, smart, and active—basically the full package. I love hiking, exploring, and yes, enthusiastically alerting everyone when a bus dares to roll past my street. After a good adventure, though, I transform into a world-class cuddle bug who proudly accepts belly rubs as payment for services rendered.Do you enjoy hiking, exploring, and pretending buses are suspicious? Excellent. I’m loyal, cuddly, and ready to be your shadow (in a cute way, not a creepy way). I come with classic herding-dog features: brains, energy, and the occasional “I must supervise everything” stare. Please come adopt me—I miss having my own person to love!

Story
Hi I’m Lola! I’m a 7-year-old spayed female pitbull mix weighing around 40lbs. I am an extremely sweet and affectionate girl; I love to snuggle and sleep in bed with my people at night. I was surrendered for leash reactivity and redirection; my mom did a lot of great work with me but was no longer able to continue it. Staff is working on helping me with my reactivity, and making sure I get lots of love.

Story
Howdy Partner, say hello to Tex! Tex is a 9 year old Australian Shepherd Mix who is looking for a new family to call his very own! Mr. Tex was picked up as a stray roaming in Texas by a family who was traveling for the holidays. Despite being found in Texas, he ended up riding all the way to Colorado and found himself in our care!* Although he did not have a collar or a microchip when he arrived with us, Tex was in such good shape and was so social and well behaved we had a hard time believing he was just a stray dog on the street; we knew he had a family out there somewhere! Our team did some digging and we found his humans! Unfortunately even though they missed him terribly, they were unable to make the trip up from Texas to reclaim him - they asked that we find him a loving new family who will take the best care of him and give him all their love and attention, so that`s what we are going to do! Tex has been a gentleman since arriving at our shelter, but he is ready to find his new home and family and start living the good life again! Tex is a sweet boy who has done well meeting new humans and other friendly dogs here at the shelter, his previous family told us that he also does well with kids, cats, and even farm animals! Despite being almost 10 years old, Tex is still an active guy who is up for adventure! He would love to join you on your next hike as he loves to explore and also enjoys a good game of fetch to pass the time! This fuzzy boy has got hops and may need an extra tall and secure fence (or supervised outside time) to prevent him from escaping and taking himself for a stroll around the neighborhood.Tex is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines, he even got his pearly whites cleaned and can`t wait to give you lots of kisses! This handsome senior boy is ready to find love again - come meet him today and see what a good dog he is! *We do not condone relocating stray animals outside of the local area where they were found - if they were lost and have a family looking for them like Tex did, their humans would not know to look at shelters hours/states away. We appreciate people looking out for stray and lost pets, but we want to make sure we can reunite lost pets with their families when possible!
