Story
Hope is an affectionate Australian cattledog /German short-haired pointer mix. She has been recovering from a concussion she received from a vehicle accident. She is slightly challenged when walking, however she can still run full speed for short distances. Her optimal life would include continued training, shorter walks in cooler weather, playing food and toy games for enrichment, and living indoors with her favorite person or family. She is currently fostered in a quiet home with 2 cats and no other dogs. She is potty trained and crate trained. She may prefer to be the only dog due to her loyalty to people. She will need calm guidance in new environments. She is lower energy and quiet in the morning, but will need small sessions of activity and engagement throughout the day due to her "working-breed" temperament. She would be a great fit for someone who would continue to help her learn new things and enrich her life through new experiences. She always wants to be by your side and will need a trusted loving leader for companionship and guidance. We do not see Adopt-a-Pet inquiries! Story
Grozer is a goofy bouncy boy! He's always happy, but he definitely needs a family who is willing to work with him on when its time to play and when it's time to rest. He would be a GREAT pup for an active family who likes to get into the mountains or on bikes. We suggest older or no kids, only because he will probably knock them over with his goofy antics. We are happy to consider a family who will be willing to work with him on his training if the kids are younger. He will likely be a cat chaser just because he hasn't had much structure at the shelter. We have never introduced him to cats, however. Grozer a really friendly good boy and we can't wait to get him out of the shelter and into his very own home or foster home! He also loves toys and holding things in his mouth. :) Be prepared to give him a toy when he greets you and he will give you all the love in return! We do not see Adopt-a-Pet inquiries! Story
This chonky little granny is looking for a hospice home to relax for the rest of her days. Whether that's weeks to years! We do not know right now. We are open to a hospice foster or adoption situation and we will support you the whole way. It seems like Pearl had a lifetime of neglect with an owner who had other priorities. Now she is a GRHS pup and we are making her health and happiness our number one priority! Pearl just started being treated for some manageable medical issues and we can't wait to get her feeling better so she can start the best rest of her life! No kids- but she does fine with mellow dogs and cats! Pearl asks that her future home have no stairs and lots of cozy beds for her to snooze.   What is a hospice dog? A hospice dog is a pup who is at the end of their life due to advanced age or medical reasons. Our goal is to keep them comfortable for as long as they have left. You can even make a bucket list for her to work towards during her time with you! Their quality of life (whether that's determined by pain or lifestyle) is our main concern as we help them stay happy in a safe home environment. Pearls vet expenses will be covered at our vet partners. Please let us know if you have any questions about Pearl's special situation We do not see Adopt-a-Pet inquiries! Story
Wade is a sweet, energetic, and loyal young pup (under a year old) with a sleek black coat, white markings, and a touch of brindle along his legs and face. He came from a California rescue and has been raised in a loving home with kids, dogs, and cats; and he does great with all of them. Wade has a big heart and lots of potential, but he needs a more experienced handler or someone with the time and patience to continue consistent training. He is incredibly smart, curious, and full of energy, but he struggles to settle and sometimes acts out when he is bored or anxious. He’ll thrive in a structured home with an active family or an individual who can give him the outlet and attention he deserves. He is crate trained, has learned fetch, and loves to play and explore. Wade will make an amazing companion for the right person-someone who understands that every great dog just needs the right match.
