Story
Meet Luca Luca and Mike are our Tennessee 'brothers'! Luca is the one year old black and white cattle mix while Mike is our one year old brown and sandy hound mix! While not actually brothers (at least we don't think), they've grown up together and really are attached at the hip. Luca is the shyer, more apprehensive one out of the two. At least at first, because with some baby talk and treats, he comes around pretty quickly and turns into the biggest cuddle bug ever! Mike is the more outgoing, curious one of the two and is quick to greet new people. Both of them have made lots of friends with other dogs at the shelter but really are just the best of playmates together. They'll try to steal each other's toys when the other isn't looking, which always leads to a game of tug of war - and of course they love to just chase and throw them! It's always entertaining to watch! Luca is a bit more shy with the big scary would but when he's with his bestie Mike, he feels confident enough to go out and explore. These boys are always ready to take on adventure together and love to go on the hunt for all the best smells around! So if you're looking for an active duo that would make fantastic companion dogs, Mike and Luca are the duo for you! If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! Story
Meet Floki Floki is our handsome bo bansome three year old cattle mix! He came to HAP when his previous owners could no longer care for him and he's quickly settled himself in. Despite his larger size, Floki is a gentle giant and loves to cuddle! He'll push his weight all the way into you to get as close as possible to soak up all the cuddles. Floki gets very excited for his walkies so does pull a little bit in the beginning but this boy loves his treats and his leash manners are already a huge improvement! Did I mention treats? Floki would be very upset if I forgot to mention his favorite thing besides cuddles! Due to his love of food, he is on a bit of a diet but we love this chunky man! Floki prefers to soak up all the attention for himself so would do best as the only dog in the home or possibly with a dog that would respect his boundaries and give him space. So if you're looking for a fantastic cuddle bug to shower you with love, Floki is the dog for you! Floki is spending some time in a foster home. Please contact the Rehoboth location at (302)200-7159 for more information or to schedule a meet. Here's what Floki's foster has to say about him: "Floki has been the absolute best house guest we've ever had! Even though it took him a few days to get adjusted to his new surroundings and a new routine, he never had any accidents! I've been working from a home a lot and he's been the best office coworker spending all day either snoozing in his dog bed next to my desk or resting his head on my lap for some snuggles. Floki wasn't a fan of the crate at all but we've left him alone unsupervised while we were out for a few hours and he was the best boy. He didn't get into anything and has never been destructive. Floki loves his humans and is always following my fiance and I around the house and he does the most adorable big butt wiggles whenever you look his way. We've fostered a few dogs before but Floki has truly been the easiest dog to have around and any family would be hitting the jackpot by adopting this handsome hunk!"
