Story
Blue Aspen is our girl that we are very proud and determined to help find a better home for all her perfections as a Heeler.  The lady who brought her to our attention owns 4 Heelers and she knows the breed like the Westminister Dog Show judges do.  Here is the story of Blue Aspen: Even though this girl came with papers (which are now lost) we as a rescue don’t care about any papers but it is the perfect heart of any dog and Blue Aspen checks all the boxes for perfect Blue Heeler traits. For her first 7 years she lived with a couple/family in an apartment, then the baby was on the way and Blue Aspen had to go. She could have been perfectly fine with the baby but the couple would not even try.  So then Aspen went to a home with fenced yard, other small dogs and was living so happily and without a care in the world. But soon the dreaded decision to downsize was made and she did not “make the cut”.  She is 9 years old and now we have this girl in our hands to help find a more committed Heeler loving home and family. The third family has to be the “charm” and we will be picky. She is 9 years old, weighs 32ish pounds at her last vet checkup and she knows tricks that have been put on pause a little bit since her first family.  We know that she knows commands like: sit, lay down, sit pretty and who knows what other tricks she has that are lying dormant. She drops her Kong toy when she is ready for you to throw it again  and she barks at you to play with her. She hesitates getting in a car now but that can be changed again and she is really nice and easy on a leash.  This is a breed of dog that sort loves for life but two families has discarded her for other plans and once again she needs to find a really true blue family to love her.  She has many years ahead.  Heelers live a long time when kept healthy and weight managed and exercised.  Please consider this girl.  She might be a senior but there is  nothing “senior” about her at all.  Write to us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested!!!!!PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 4, 2024, 11:49 am

Story
My name is Xena and I am a pretty little Cattle Dog mix pup that is 5 months old and weighing 33 pounds on the way to being a 50 pound adult.  This pretty girl has had a lot of time with her foster mom teaching her manners, commands and creating a very loving and snuggly pup.  This girl came in as a stray that no one claimed nor seemed to care about.  Critter Cavalry Rescue has watched her gain confidence as a puppy, learn how to be 100% potty trained, crate trained and how to make herself fit in with other dogs and cats in a home lifestyle environment. This pretty girl is a Cattle Dog mix and if you know about the breed you know they are devoted companions to their family and owner and they are wicked SMART!  They don’t miss a trick and they learn at warp speed whatever you care to teach them.  This girl is ready to go NOW…are you ready for her intelligence, love and her being yours for the next 15 years.  These dogs live a long life that leaves you with a warm and deep memory of the good things that you feel when you own this kind of breed.  She would benefit from a fenced yard as she will love hanging out in the yard enjoying and soaking up the great outdoors.  Hiking, outdoor events to attend, jogs or walks will be the lifestyle that this girl will embrace with you.  Take her anywhere…Rides in the car, visits to family and enrolling her in some wonderful agility events or classes.  She would excel at everything.   Please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested in knowing more about her and adopting.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 4, 2024, 11:49 am

Story
Female, 2 years old, 24lbs Good with: Dogs Not tested with: Cats, kids House trained: Yes Energy level: Moderate Noise level: Quiet Hi there! I'm Millie, a delightful furry friend ready to steal your heart. I'm a canine connoisseur of the great outdoors, always up for a romp in the sunshine and a good game of fetch. Give me a toy or bone, and I'll happily indulge in some satisfying chewing – although, I must admit, I have a bit of a penchant for cables too. Oops! When I'm not busy playing, you'll find me being my cuddly self. I'm as soft as a cloud and love nothing more than burrowing into your lap, showering you with kisses. However, if you're busy working, I'll happily hang on a dog bed or nap at your feet. I'm flexible! I'm also happy sleeping in my crate overnight, but would prefer to be close to my people. Being close to my people is my happy place, and I've got this whole house-trained thing down pat. However, when it comes to leash walking and commands like sit, well, let's just say I'm a work in progress. I've got a unique social style. At first, I can be a tad wary of new faces, but once I open up, I'm all in. Consider me your best friend for life. On walks, I can get a little nervous, feeling a bit overwhelmed by the big wide world, but with your reassurance, I'm sure to gain confidence. For now, playing at home and zoomies in the yard is my favorite form of exercise. Similarly, I'm not a huge fan of big, rambunctious dogs - they are too scary for little old me! - but I'd happily befriend a dog of a similar size and temperament. I may even benefit from being in a home with another dog to help build my confidence. So, if you're looking for a loyal companion who loves the outdoors, enjoys a good cuddle, and has a soft spot for balls, look no further – I'm Millie, and I can't wait to be your four-legged bestie! Please note that, since I am a rescue dog, my breed is currently a best guess and can only be verified through a DNA test kit. I can’t wait to find my forever home where I can share all the love I’ve got to give! My foster guardian says: Millie is the sweetest pup with so much love to give, despite starting life in a tough situation. She’d make the perfect addition to any family! Likes: Balls, chew sticks, cuddles, kisses Dislikes : Stairs, overstimulation, big dogs Adoption Application : http://bit.ly/adoptrdr Foster Application :  https://rdr.formstack.com/forms/foster_app My adoption fee includes: Spay/Neuter Surgery (unless I'm too to young!) Good with dogs,
Story
Male, 2 years old, 28lbs Good with: Dogs   Not tested with: Cats, Kids Hi– I’m Mason and though I’ve just arrived in the Nation’s Capital, here’s a bit of an introduction.  Folks think I’m about 16 months old.  I had a rough start – weighing in at only 19 pounds when I was rescued, but with love, and lots of attention and food, I’m now a perfect 30 pounds.  I love giving and getting hugs and kisses and am quite the happy-go-lucky guy.   I’m doing great with the other dogs in the family, especially when we can romp around the backyard. After all that running, I’m cool taking a nice long nap in my crate (that’s where I contentedly sleep at night and when my fosters are out). I’m not scared of traffic noises, and I think I’d be a great running partner. My gorgeous coat is silky smooth and my cute ears perk straight up with the little tips bending over.  I’m irresistible!   Please note that, since I am a rescue dog, my breed is currently a best guess and can only be verified through a DNA test kit.     Adoption Application: http://bit.ly/adoptrd r My adoption fee includes: Spay/Neuter Surgery (unless I'm too to young!) Story
Barbara is an outgoing, low-energy sweet girl. I adopted her 3 years ago and she is an angel. Unfortunately, she doesn't get along well with little dogs and the dogs in my building so I am looking to rehome her. Barbara is great with people but isn't as excited to get along with other pups. She would need to be in a home without other animals.
