   â¤ï¸ Blue Sassy: The Dog Who Still Has So Much Love Left to Give ❤️ Sometimes a rescue story finds you, and before you know it, you’ve become part of a journey that desperately deserves a happy ending. Blue Sassy is a 9-year-old Blue Heeler who spent her entire life with one man who adored her. He raised her from a puppy, and every night she slept beside him. She wasn’t just his dog—she was his comfort, his companion, and his therapy through life’s challenges. A few months ago, her owner reached out to Critter Cavalry Rescue with a heartbreaking request. His health was failing, and he was being forced to move somewhere his beloved dogs could not follow. Through tears, he asked us to help. When Blue Sassy came into rescue, she finally received the veterinary care she hadn’t had in years. During her spay and wellness exam, we discovered she was diabetic. The untreated diabetes had also affected her eyesight, leaving her with limited vision. But here’s the remarkable thing about Blue Sassy… She doesn’t feel sorry for herself. She wakes up every day happy. She greets people with a smile. She loves to explore the yard with her nose leading the way. She loves ear scratches, belly rubs, curling up on the couch, and most of all, sitting in your lap soaking up affection. She still has all the intelligence, confidence, and personality that make Blue Heelers such incredible companions. Her foster family absolutely adores her. Blue Sassy would do best in a home with minimal stairs and easy access to the outdoors for potty breaks. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, loves children, and enjoys being around people. While her vision isn’t perfect, she navigates her world surprisingly well and adapts with the resilience dogs are famous for. Her diabetes is manageable with twice-daily insulin injections, given about 12 hours apart. The insulin itself is affordable, and the injections are quick and easy. Other than her diabetes, her bloodwork and health checks have been excellent. What Blue Sassy needs now isn’t pity. She needs someone who sees beyond a diagnosis and recognizes the loving, loyal, funny, affectionate dog standing right in front of them. At 9 years old, she still has plenty of life to live, plenty of cuddles to give, and plenty of memories left to make. Age is only a number, and Blue Sassy’s heart is as young as ever. This Aussie/Cattle Mix girl is 2.5 years and weighs 30-35 pounds and she is the definition of a Velcro dog—she loves cuddling, being held, getting pets, and following her favorite humans from room to room. If you’re looking for a dog who truly wants to be your best friend, Ghost is your girl! She has the cutest goofy side, too. Ghost loves running around the yard, playing chase, getting the zoomies, and doing her little spins when she gets excited. She’s also VERY treat motivated and will happily work for snacks! Ghost is house trained and crate trained and would absolutely love a home with a secure fenced yard. She’s much more of a backyard-zoomies girl than a long-walk girl—the busy outside world can sometimes be a little overwhelming for her, and she’s happiest running and playing somewhere familiar and secure. Ghost would love to be your one-and-only pet and soak up all the attention for herself. Other dogs can make her uncomfortable, so a home where she doesn’t have to share her space with other animals will allow her to relax and be her happiest self. Tango is a smart, playful, and affectionate Cattle Dog/Terrier mix looking for his forever home. He loves being active, cuddling with his owners, and having fun with tug, indoor fetch, and light wrestling.He is highly intelligent and eager to learn. Tango has received positive, treat-based training and knows commands including come, leave it, stay, crate, and toy. He is comfortable at the vet and crate trained, although he is happier with plentiful companionship. Tango is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and has received regular wellness care since he was adopted at 3-months of age, and has pet insurance with minimal pre-existing conditions.He does have some behavioral challenges that his new family should be prepared to work on. He can become very excited around other dogs while on leash, including pulling and barking, although he has gotten much better at this with training. He may also guard treats from other dogs and become jealous when other dogs approach his person.

  Meet Bailey Girl— All She Needs Is a Chance ❤️ Bailey Girl is a beautiful 27-pound female 18 month old Mini Aussie mix with a story that will break your heart—but the little dog she is becoming will put it right back together.       Bailey Girl was abandoned during extremely hot weather when someone placed her inside a school playground with no way to get out. Tragically, she wasn’t discovered until the following Monday when the school reopened. Someone had reportedly witnessed her being left there but did not notify anyone. We may never understand why she was abandoned that way, but we do know one thing: her story does not have to end where it began. Today, Bailey Girl is safe in a loving foster home, and she is doing beautifully. ❤️ It took her only a couple of days to begin trusting her foster, and now she has become her little shadow. She does well with other dogs and cats, walks on a leash, and can even be left loose in the home with the other dogs while her foster is at work. Bailey Girl is still working on becoming completely house trained, but she is extremely intelligent and continues to learn. She enjoys having a yard where she can run and as her confidence and trust have grown, she happily comes back to her foster when called. Because Bailey Girl can be somewhat fearful of children, we believe she would be happiest in a home without children, where she can feel secure and develop a strong bond with her person or family. Bailey may need a little more patience in the beginning than some dogs. You have to earn her trust—but once you do, something very special happens. She begins to understand that she is safe. She follows you. She looks to you for reassurance. And before long, you realize you haven’t just gained a dog—you’ve gained a devoted little sidekick. A word of advice please.  Bailey Girl needs someone who won’t expect everything from her on the first day. She needs love, patience, kindness, and time. Give her the opportunity to understand that you aren’t going anywhere, and she will give that love and devotion right back to you. ❤️ Bailey may very well become the dog you talk about for the rest of your life. Beckett is a very handsome mini Australian Shepherd mix. He weighs about 35 lbs. This distinguished boy is a young 10-year-old. Beckett was saved from the streets of Nashville. He was abandoned and alone. Thanks to a caring lady who could not bear the thought of him spending any more time outside, Beckett is now in a loving foster home. He is under the care of Critter Cavalry.   It did not take long for this awesome gentleman to make himself at home. After meeting the resident dogs, he explored outside. He came in and found a spot to relax. He is getting along great with his new foster sisters. He is also good with cats. This super smart boy quickly learned to use the doggie door. He can now come and go as he pleases. He does prefer to be inside and likes to know where his foster mom is. Beckett is enjoying all the love and attention he is getting.   It takes him a few minutes, but he quickly warms up to new people. He just has to make sure that you are nice. Beckett is housebroken. He walks well on a leash. He also does not mind the crate and will go right in for a treat.
