MEET CRICKET – A LITTLE SURVIVOR WITH A BIG FUTURE! Meet Cricket, an absolutely adorable little Hound mix puppy with a big personality and an even bigger heart! This precious girl is approximately 4–5 months old and weighs just 9 pounds, but don’t let her tiny size fool you! She’s expected to grow to at least 40 pounds when fully grown. Cricket is one smart little cookie! At only 4–5 months old, she’s already house-trained! She’s playful, curious, and loves spending time with other dogs. She’s also wonderful with children and cats, making her a fantastic addition to just about any loving family. But Cricket’s story didn’t start out so happily. This sweet little puppy was found all alone in the middle of nowhere in Okeechobee. Just imagine being so young, so tiny, and having to face the world all by yourself. We don’t know how she ended up there, but thankfully, her days of being alone are behind her. Cricket is now safe with us at Paws Fur Recovery, where she’s getting the love and care every puppy deserves. Despite her rough beginning, she’s a happy, intelligent, playful little girl with so much life ahead of her! Cricket’s journey has already taken her from being abandoned and alone to being safe and loved. Now there’s just one more chapter waiting to be written — finding her forever family! Hi, I’m Elfie! I may not give my heart away to just anyone, but when I choose you, I promise it means something. I’m one of Paws Fur Recovery’s longest residents, and I’ve been patiently waiting for someone who sees just how special I am. I’m a one-of-a-kind guy with a big personality, a loyal heart, and plenty of love to give to the right person. I prefer to take my time getting to know new people. Give me a little patience, let me build trust at my own pace, and before you know it, you’ll have a devoted best friend who is always happy to see you. One of my favorite things is going for walks, and I’m great on a leash. I love getting outside, exploring, sniffing all the interesting smells, and then heading home to relax with my person. My ideal home would be calm, predictable, and adults only, with someone who understands that the best relationships aren’t always instant—they’re built over time. I can get along with other dogs, although I like to choose my friends carefully, so a meet-and-greet would help us find the right fit. And if you really want to win me over, treats are a great place to start. Pup cups are definitely a favorite. Give me a tasty snack, a comfortable place to relax, and someone I can trust, and I’ll be a very happy guy. I might not run up and fall in love with you the moment we meet. But give me a chance. When Ryder first arrived at H.A.L.O., he was underweight, with irritated skin and missing fur around his eyes. But this handsome boy is on the mend! He's gaining weight, and his beautiful coat is growing back. It's amazing what a little TLC can do! Ryder is an affectionate, playful guy who loves walks, toys, treats, and spending time with his people. He's housebroken, crate trained, knows a few tricks, and rides nicely in the car. He's also done well with cats and dogs during temperament testing, and we haven't seen any reason he couldn't live with children!Like any young pup, Ryder is still learning his manners. Furniture and dog beds sometimes look like chew toys, and fluffy toys are a definite no-go without supervision — he'll eat the stuffing to get to the squeaker! He'll thrive with a family ready to keep his clever Cattle Dog brain busy, help him burn off energy, and patiently guide him along the way. Loud noises can startle him, and he's a little nervous about grooming, so a gentle touch goes a long way.Ryder doesn't need a perfect family, just one willing to see his potential, celebrate his progress, and love his goofy, affectionate self.His comeback story has already begun.
