Story
Meet Ryder – The Smart, Snuggly Scholar with a Heart of Gold Ryder is a one-of-a-kind mix — part Australian Kelpie, American Bully, and a splash of Cattle Dog — and somehow, all heart. At about 1.5 years old, he’s a handsome, athletic boy with the intelligence of a herding breed and the loyalty of a Bully. Though he’s larger than most of his lineage, he’s as gentle as they come and loves nothing more than being close to his people. When Ryder first came into rescue, he was a bit unsure of himself. He had always looked to his older housemates for cues on how to act, drawing comfort from their calm confidence. Being out on his own was intimidating. But through private training sessions at Saragold, Ryder has blossomed — and now, he looks to his handler for guidance with focus and trust. At his most recent adoption event, Ryder was the picture of composure — a true gentleman, walking beautifully on leash, greeting other dogs with excitement and good manners, and showing everyone just how far he’s come. Ryder’s Highlights: Excellent leash manners – heels perfectly and stays attentive to his person Fully housebroken and crate trained – uses the doggy door like a pro Treat-motivated and fast learner – mastered “touch” and “place” by watching others Calm, affectionate, and people-focused – a real cuddler who loves being close Great with other dogs and even cats, sharing toys and space with ease Playful but thoughtful – loves fetch, squeaky toys, and even watching Lassie and Pup Academy! Loves water, though he’s more of a splash artist than a swimmer — he’ll stick his whole face in the kiddie pool just for fun! Ryder doesn’t resource guard, has a wonderful temperament, and learns quickly by observing. His confidence has grown tremendously — he’s now relaxed, affectionate, and eager to please. Because of his Bully side, Ryder is mainly an indoor dog, as these breeds are sensitive to temperature extremes. Ryder’s foster is very attached to him and wants to see him continue to thrive in a home that will cultivate his intelligence, continue his training, and give him the love and consistency he deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal, smart, and goofy best friend who’s come into his own and just wants to share life by your side, Ryder is your guy. Story
MEET RICK: Your Loyal Companion Rick has endured more than his share of challenges, spending 8 months surviving at a Boise-area landfill before being rescued. Now, this sweet and resilient pup is ready to leave his past behind and find his forever family. Rick is about 1 to 2 years old and weighs 38 lbs. He is a compact little guy with a loving, gentle nature. He gets along well with other dogs with proper introductions and has blended nicely with the pack at his foster home. While he hasn’t met cats yet, he’s done well around young kids and is eager to bond with people who will shower him with kindness and patience. Rick is potty-trained, and although crate training is still a work in progress, his intelligence and eagerness to please make him a fast learner. He’s a “Velcro dog,” happiest when he’s by your side, and his low-key, chill personality makes him a wonderful companion around the house. Because Rick can be sensitive to raised voices and is still learning the ropes, he would thrive in a calm, understanding home that can offer him love, stability, and the guidance he needs to continue blossoming. If you’re looking for a loyal, laid-back, and loving dog to be your partner in life, Rick might just be the one. Are you ready to give this sweet boy the home he’s been waiting for?

Story
Meet Ellie! 🐾 Ellie is an 10 month old Husky/Herding dog mix with a big heart, a big smile, and plenty of puppy energy to go around! She’s medium to large in size and still growing into her paws, but her goofy charm makes her impossible not to love. She is available for adoption through PAWS Rescue inc. Ellie is a curious, playful girl who loves to run, explore, and stick her nose into everything. She’s great with kids (though her excitement can sometimes knock little ones over) and she’s very social with other dogs. She even plays with cats though she tends to “bully” them in a silly, playful way, never with aggression. This smart girl is crate trained and potty trained with a doggy door. She isn’t leash trained yet, but with a little patience and consistency, she’ll catch on quickly. She loves squeaky toys, shin bones, walks, and running around the yard, but she’s also a cuddle bug who adores being close to her people. Fun fact: Ellie smiles when she’s happy, “talks” to you when she’s excited, and yes she’s known to pass some funny little farts, too. Ellie would thrive in an active home with another friendly dog to play with, or with someone who spends a lot of time at home and can keep up with her energy. She’ll do best with a family who is kind, patient, and ready to give her the love and structure she needs as she grows. *Fenced yard required* If you’re looking for a playful, loyal, and endlessly loving companion, Ellie might just be your perfect match! 💙

Story
MEET BOSS😍 Boss is a 2-year-old Mini Aussie/Heeler mix with a heart full of love and a look that’ll turn heads — he resembles a mini German Shepherd with his sleek dark coat, expressive eyes, and the cutest mismatched ears (one up, one flopped!). At around 35–40 lbs, he’s the perfect mid-sized companion. Boss is a happy, affectionate boy who greets his people with tail wags, kisses, and eager eyes. He can be a little shy at first and has some mild anxiety, but he’s incredibly eager to please and blossoms with gentle attention. Once you’ve earned his trust, you’ll have a loyal shadow for life. He’s house-trained, kennel-trained, and knows several commands like sit, lay down, wait, and kennel. He enjoys going for walks and is working on improving his leash manners. He may have the occasional nervous/excited tinkle, but it’s something his foster is helping him work through. Boss does well with calm, friendly dogs who like to play and has been reportedly kid-friendly. He hasn’t been tested with cats but has shown interest in small livestock (chasing), so a home without those would be best. *Fenced yard required* Boss would thrive in a patient home where he can continue to build confidence and get the affection he craves. If you're looking for a loyal, sweet, slightly goofy companion to share your days with — Boss might just be your guy

Story
Meet Indy – The Spirited Little Kelpie with a Big Heart At just 3 years old and around 40 pounds, Indy may be small in size, but she’s bursting with personality, intelligence, and love. This Kelpie–Cattle Dog mix is the perfect blend of playful and affectionate — a lively companion who adores her people and thrives on interaction. Indy is currently in private training to help fine-tune her manners and work on her prey drive, and she’s making wonderful progress. She’s incredibly smart, eager to please, and food-motivated, which makes training sessions a joy. This sweet girl loves: Running the fence line and chatting with the neighbor dogs through the knotholes (she’s a social butterfly!). Helping in the garden, where she proudly “hunts” grasshoppers and voles — it’s her version of pest control! Watching out the window while you’re away, then greeting you like it’s been years, even if you just took the trash out. Playing with kids — she adores them and has a fun, gentle energy that matches well with families. Indy is well-behaved in the home, even when left alone, and though she isn’t crate-trained, she doesn’t need to be. She’s doing great with her basic commands and is learning better leash manners — a gentle over-the-nose leash helps her walk beautifully. She enjoys playing with other dogs but can be selective, so slow, proper introductions are key. Due to her background and instincts, she should avoid German Shepherds, as that’s one breed she doesn’t get along with well. Indy’s Ideal Home: A family with children or active adults who love to engage with their dog A secure fenced yard to explore and play Possibly a compatible dog companion (with good intros!) Someone patient and consistent who will continue her positive training Her Story Before rescue, Indy was a working ranch dog who’d fallen on hard times. Injured and pregnant, she was left to fend for herself outdoors through harsh winter conditions. She was found having dug a hole in the frozen ground to shelter her seven pups — Pearl, Opal, Jade, Arrow, River, Ash, and Archer — keeping them warm until help arrived. Her strength and devotion saved them all. Now, safe and healed, Indy is thriving in her foster home in Kimberly, Idaho, and is so ready for her forever family. Her foster loves her dearly and is even sponsoring 50% of her adoption fee to help her find the perfect match.
