Story
Meet Ryder – The Smart, Snuggly Scholar with a Heart of Gold Ryder is a one-of-a-kind mix — part Australian Kelpie, American Bully, and a splash of Cattle Dog — and somehow, all heart. At about 2 years old, he’s a handsome, athletic boy with the intelligence of a herding breed and the loyalty of a Bully. Though he’s larger than most of his lineage, he’s as gentle as they come and loves nothing more than being close to his people. When Ryder first came into rescue, he was a bit unsure of himself. He had always looked to his older housemates for cues on how to act, drawing comfort from their calm confidence. Being out on his own was intimidating. But through private training sessions at Saragold, Ryder has blossomed — and now, he looks to his handler for guidance with focus and trust. At his most recent adoption event, Ryder was the picture of composure — a true gentleman, walking beautifully on leash, greeting other dogs with excitement and good manners, and showing everyone just how far he’s come. Ryder’s Highlights: Excellent leash manners – heels perfectly and stays attentive to his person Fully housebroken and crate trained – uses the doggy door like a pro Treat-motivated and fast learner – mastered “touch” and “place” by watching others Calm, affectionate, and people-focused – a real cuddler who loves being close Great with other dogs and even cats, sharing toys and space with ease Playful but thoughtful – loves fetch, squeaky toys, and even watching Lassie and Pup Academy! Loves water, though he’s more of a splash artist than a swimmer — he’ll stick his whole face in the kiddie pool just for fun! Ryder doesn’t resource guard, has a wonderful temperament, and learns quickly by observing. His confidence has grown tremendously — he’s now relaxed, affectionate, and eager to please. Because of his Bully side, Ryder is mainly an indoor dog, as these breeds are sensitive to temperature extremes. Ryder’s foster is very attached to him and wants to see him continue to thrive in a home that will cultivate his intelligence, continue his training, and give him the love and consistency he deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal, smart, and goofy best friend who’s come into his own and just wants to share life by your side, Ryder is your guy. Story
MEET JAKE🐾 *Jake is ready for adoption but is also in need of a foster home as his foster can no longer keep him* Back story: Jake came to us as a senior dog when his owner was evicted and felt he had no choice but to euth him. He was actually at the vet to be euthanized when PAWS stepped in. Jake is a 9-year-old Australian Cattle Dog/Border Collie mix looking for a calm, understanding home to enjoy his golden years through PAWS Rescue inc. Jake thrives in a quiet environment where he can settle in at his own pace. He can be a little nervous in new situations, but once he feels safe, he becomes a loyal little shadow — happily following you around the house to see what you’re up to. When you’re away, he’s content to relax and nap until you return. He’s house-trained, enjoys car rides, and walks beautifully on a leash. Jake is not reactive to people or dogs while out on walks and does well with other dogs. He isn’t a picky eater and will gladly sit politely for a treat. Jake can be reactive to some men and may react — typically with a warning — during grooming (such as face cleaning or brushing) and when being picked up (we were told by the surrendering owner that his original owner use to abuse him). Because of this, he would do best in an adult home or one where children are always supervised. His compatibility with cats is currently unknown. Jake is looking for a patient adopter who will give him the time and understanding he needs to feel secure. In return, he’ll offer quiet companionship and steady loyalty — the kind only a mature dog can give. 🖤

Story
MEET SHELBY! Introducing Shelby Ann who is looking for love in all the right places. Shelby is an Australian Cattle dog mix, 9 years young and approx 60 lbs. ready for her “furever” home through PAWS Rescue inc. She has a quiet confidence and lets her gentle, loving personality speak for itself. Affectionate and people-oriented, she’s always happy to trade kisses for pets—anytime, day or night. She is very well-mannered and knows her basic commands, including sit, stay, down, and come. She is fully house trained and has been doing great using a doggy door in her foster home, enjoying the freedom to come and go (and occasionally keeping an eye out for squirrels). She loves daily walks and truly enjoys car rides, making her a great companion for outings or simple adventures. She has done well with smaller dogs in her foster home but should meet any potential canine housemates to ensure a good match. Despite being around 9 years old, she’s still playful and full of life, with a kind, gentle nature that makes her a wonderful companion. *Fenced yard required* This sweet girl is ready to bring love, loyalty, and joy to her forever home. 💖 Thank you Giny C for fostering and saving a life!

Story
Meet Indy – The Spirited Little Kelpie with a Big Heart At just 3 years old and around 40 pounds, Indy may be small in size, but she’s bursting with personality, intelligence, and love. This Kelpie–Cattle Dog mix is the perfect blend of playful and affectionate — a lively companion who adores her people and thrives on interaction. Indy is currently in private training to help fine-tune her manners and work on her prey drive, and she’s making wonderful progress. She’s incredibly smart, eager to please, and food-motivated, which makes training sessions a joy. This sweet girl loves: Running the fence line and chatting with the neighbor dogs through the knotholes (she’s a social butterfly!). Helping in the garden, where she proudly “hunts” grasshoppers and voles — it’s her version of pest control! Watching out the window while you’re away, then greeting you like it’s been years, even if you just took the trash out. Playing with kids — she adores them and has a fun, gentle energy that matches well with families. Indy is well-behaved in the home, even when left alone, and though she isn’t crate-trained, she doesn’t need to be. She’s doing great with her basic commands and is learning better leash manners — a gentle over-the-nose leash helps her walk beautifully. She enjoys playing with other dogs but can be selective, so slow, proper introductions are key. Due to her background and instincts, she should avoid German Shepherds, as that’s one breed she doesn’t get along with well. Indy’s Ideal Home: A family with children or active adults who love to engage with their dog A secure fenced yard to explore and play Possibly a compatible dog companion (with good intros!) Someone patient and consistent who will continue her positive training Her Story Before rescue, Indy was a working ranch dog who’d fallen on hard times. Injured and pregnant, she was left to fend for herself outdoors through harsh winter conditions. She was found having dug a hole in the frozen ground to shelter her seven pups — Pearl, Opal, Jade, Arrow, River, Ash, and Archer — keeping them warm until help arrived. Her strength and devotion saved them all. Now, safe and healed, Indy is thriving in her foster home in Kimberly, Idaho, and is so ready for her forever family. Her foster loves her dearly and is even sponsoring 50% of her adoption fee to help her find the perfect match.
