Story
So I rescued Covid from his original owner who was abusive towards him. He's very protective of his owner and does good with kids. He gets along with other dogs after getting to know them a bit. Hates rabbits. Loves having a ball thrown for him but good luck getting it back lol. He's overall a good dog but he'll need somewhere he can run and someone with the time and patience to work with him. He appears aggressive at first but quickly will wait tail wagging to be petted and played with. He will be an amazing pet for the right person. Unfortunately I'm having to move quickly due to my ex (the one that abused him) and need to find a home quickly as I can't bring him with me where me and my daughter are going. We love him a great deal so I'm hoping to find him a great home. The only shelters that will take him would put him down and he deserves so much better than that.

This handsome fella is Nick. He's a 2yr old Shepherd-Heeler mix who was an unclaimed stray that we pulled from a shelter to save his life. Nick is full of energy and playfulness. He's in school to learn good manners and commands, and is doing so well! Nick would be a great addition to an active family. Nick is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and currently receiving prevention for flea, tick and heartworm. If you're interested in welcoming Nick into your family, please submit an adoption application via our website, www.effinghamanimalrescue.com.

Dwight was originally adopted as a puppy and sadly returned to the shelter after a year. He is looking for a new furever family that won't give up on him. He is a large dog and a DNA test done by one of his siblings has revealed that he is 64% Doberman! He is used to living indoors and is house trained. He is very treat motivated and picks up on new tricks very quickly! This boy loves to learn! He is very smart and needs a somewhat active family willing to play and exercise him every day. He is such a cool dog. If interested in adding him to your family, please fill out our application on our website at effinghamcountyhumanesociety.orgHis adoption fee is $0 because he is fully sponsored thanks to some kind donors! That means all you need to save him is an approved application! He comes neutered, current on vaccines, heart worm tested negative, on monthly flea, tick, and heart worm prevention, and a microchip that we register for you.

Drifter's name fits him perfectly. We are the third shelter he has been in this year. We have promised him that this will be the last shelter he will ever live in. He has only been in shelters because his owner gave up on him. He is a playful, energetic and smart boy. He loves life and all the people in it! Maybe a little too much sometimes. lol. His overzealous personality is matched by his sweet and cuddly nature once he has gotten out his energy. He knows basic commands and his most favorite trick is to shake. This treat motivated hunk will bring so much joy to your life! Please fill out an application from effinghamcountyhumanesociety.orgHis adoption fee is $0 because he is fully sponsored thanks to a kind donor!
