Story
Koda came to us about 7 years ago. She's a rescue from Joliet IL and has resided with us here in indiana on a farm her entire life. She's a sweet lady for sure. She loves her snacks and attention. She's attached to another rescue (Tiny Dog, aka TD) thats also listed. Both dogs do well with other non aggressive dogs and kids. Neither have bitten anyone. Rehoming both due to a divorce and scheduling. Koda loves physical attention and will happily watch a game or a show with you or hang out while you grill. They're both loyal dogs.

Story
Meet Jimmy Age: 2 years old Breed: Cattle Dog / German Shepherd Mix Coat: Merle Location: Iroquois County Animal Rescue 815-429-4028 | iroquoiscountyanimalrescue@hotmail.com Jimmy is a stunning 2-year-old with a unique merle coat and a loyal heart waiting to shine. A mix of Cattle Dog and German Shepherd, Jimmy is as intelligent as he is beautiful. He was sadly surrendered through no fault of his own—his previous owner faced health complications and could no longer care for him. Jimmy previously lived with two small dogs and did well with them. Since arriving at the shelter, he has shown signs of nervousness—kennel life can be overwhelming for a sensitive soul like Jimmy. We're confident that with patience, love, and a quieter home environment, Jimmy will come out of his shell and thrive. This boy would do best with someone who understands the needs of herding breeds and can give him both structure and compassion. He’s looking for a second chance—could it be with you? Interested in adopting Jimmy? Please call 815-429-4028 or email iroquoiscountyanimalrescue@hotmail.com for more info or to schedule a meet-and-greet.August 19, 2025, 1:13 pm

This 2-year-old Australian Cattle Dog is playful, smart, and oh-so-loving—just waiting for his perfect person to share all the cuddles with.   Fostered in Argos, IN |  ~2 years old |  Australian Cattle Dog |  Housetrained Leroy is the total package—affectionate, fun, and incredibly loyal. He LOVES cuddling on the couch, snuggling into warm blankets fresh from the dryer, and rubbing his face on yours when he wants attention.  Squeaky ball fanatic  Completed obedience classes—smart and eager to please  Great in the car and enjoys short walks  Excellent house manners  Showing wonderful improvement on leash around distractions, including other dogs Leroy would do best as the only dog in his home or could live with a submissive female dog. While he’s sweet and friendly with people (just ask his vet team!), he’s happiest and most relaxed when he doesn’t have to share his space with more dominant dogs. He’d thrive in a calm, adult-only home—perfect for a single person or couple looking for a loyal, snuggly companion. If you’ve been waiting for that one special dog to be your best friend, Leroy is your guy!  ************************************************************************************************************************** Leroy – Your One and Only  (Intro Bio) Fostered in Argos, IN | ~2 years old | Medium-sized Australian Cattle Dog Leroy is the total package—affectionate, playful, and incredibly loyal. He LOVES cuddling up on the couch, snuggling into warm blankets fresh from the dryer, and rubbing his face on yours when he wants attention. He’s a squeaky ball fanatic and has completed obedience classes, proving he’s smart and eager to please. He enjoys short walks, rides well in the car, and has excellent house manners. But most importantly, Leroy needs to be the only dog in the home. While he’s a sweet, friendly guy with people (ask his vet team!), he’s happiest and most relaxed when he doesn’t have to share his space with other dogs. Leroy would thrive in a calm, adult-only home—perhaps with a single person or a couple—who’s looking for a devoted companion to shower with love. If you’ve been waiting for that one special dog to be your best friend, Leroy might just be the one.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 3, 2025, 9:56 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Ellen – Your Sweet Shadow Ellen is a gentle, tricolor Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler mix who’s about 9 years old. Petite at just 35 pounds, she’s the perfect size for snuggles and companionship. Ellen has already proven her resilience—after overcoming mammary issues and healing beautifully from her spay, she’s ready to enjoy the good life with a loving family. What makes Ellen special Sweet & Loyal: Ellen loves to follow her people everywhere, always eager to be part of whatever you’re doing. Dog-Friendly: She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, making her a great fit for multi-pet households. Affectionate Companion: Ellen adores giving kisses, rubbing against her humans, and soaking up massages around her neck and face. Couch Potato or Shadow: Left alone, she’s happy to relax quietly, but she’ll also trail you from room to room to keep you in sight. Family-Friendly: Ellen loves everyone—including children—and greets new people with friendliness. Low Energy: Due to age, she’s calm and easygoing, with modest exercise needs. Special Considerations: Ellen is hearing impaired, stairs can be tricky for her, and she hasn’t been tested with cats—but her foster believes she’d do fine with them. Ellen’s Ideal Home Ellen is the kind of dog who will quietly brighten your days with her gentle presence and unconditional love. She’s happiest in a home where she can be near her humans, enjoying a relaxed lifestyle filled with affection.
