Story
Meet Porky! Porky arrived in our care as an unclaimed stray.Porky is barky with new people at first but warms up quickly. He is very independent and loves his food. We think he would make a great house alert dog because he loves to bark.Porky is house trained and crate trained. Porky would do best with older kids. He is indifferent to other dogs and cats, so he may be able to get along with them in his new home as long as they aren't in his face.Porky's adoption fee has been sponsored!Porky is a chunky boy! He weighs about 50 pounds and would love an owner who can make sure he gets regular exercise to help him lose some of his weight. Porky's adoption fee has been sponsored!

Story
Meet Archie! Archie was found tied up to a tree on a back road. Thanks to a concerned citizen who called the sheriff's department, he found his way to us. He is estimated to be 2 years old and a pit/cattle dog mix. Archie is a very sweet boy. He can be a bit shy when first meeting someone but after a couple minutes of sitting and letting him get used to you, his goofy personality comes out. He loves playing fetch but doesn't quite understand he has to give the ball back for you to throw it again. Usually we end up having 2 or 3 balls out during his play time! He would do best in a home with older kids who understand to give him his space until he's used to his new surroundings. He gets along with some other dogs but would likely do best as the only pet so he can have all the attention! Upon adoption, Archie will be neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative. His adoption fee is waived. Kimchi is a sweet girl that enjoys play time with other dogs. She LOVES her toys and her people & sometimes doesn't like to share. She will enjoy dog park dates too! Kimchi loves belly rubs and is willing to throw herself in front of you for them any chance she gets. We are unsure how she will do with cats but should be fine with respectful kiddos 8+. She is also potty trained.Kimchi is also available for our Dog Day Out program. Call 765-452-6224 to schedule an appointment to zoomie your day away with this girl! Volunteer Notes: 1-12-24, "Loved to run! I took Kimchi out to the large fenced in area and she really enjoyed sprinting around at lightspeed!" This volunteer described Kimchi as Adventurous, Affectionate, Athletic, Vocal, Confident, Curious, Extroverted, Goofy, Independent, Playful and Quirky. Story
Sumo was found by a Good Samaritan. He had a terrible, bulging eye that had to be removed almost immediately by the vet. Sumo might be the heaviest blue heeler we've ever seen. He is still a very happy boy that often wags & wags his tail. He walks well on a leash despite his size, likes the other dogs, & is super friendly. Sumo is also very attentive to his humans. We hope that his foster can continue to walk him & control his diet to help him lose weight. We know he will feel better in no time at all. Meet this hunk today! If you have any questions or are interested in fostering please email animalbehavior@kokomohumane.org. You can submit our adoption application on our website. The adoption fee is $150 which includes the spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, & goodie bag to go home.
