Story
Jessie is a 9-month-old female Red Heeler mix with a heart as big as her personality. When she first came to us, Jessie was extremely nervous and unsure of the world around her. Thanks to the patience and love of her foster home, she’s absolutely thriving—and blossoming more every day. Jessie is still a bit shy around strangers, but once you earn her trust, it’s like flipping a switch. She transforms into a gigantic sweetheart and the ultimate velcro dog. This girl wants to be wherever her person is at all times. She sleeps curled up in bed next to her foster mom every night, loves to snuggle, and often dozes off with her head resting on her person’s shoulder. If you’re looking for a devoted companion, Jessie is your girl. Don’t let the sweetness fool you, though—Jessie has a playful, slightly bratty side too. She loves stealing toys from the other dogs and hoarding them into an impressive personal collection, often found proudly sitting on the couch surrounded by her treasures. She currently lives with four other dogs and gets along wonderfully with them. She loves playing outside, zooming around the backyard, and playing chase with her doggy friends. And when she’s excited? Get ready for the wiggliest butt you’ve ever seen. Jessie is fully potty-trained and crate-trained, and she does well with other dogs, cats, and kids. What she needs most is a patient, understanding home willing to give her the time and space to feel safe. In return, Jessie will reward her person with endless affection, loyalty, and love. If you’re ready to help a shy girl continue to gain confidence and show you just how incredible she is, Jessie is ready to be your best friend.

Story
Meet Roux, a 9-month-old, 22-pound Australian Cattle Dog mix who decided the golf course in Independence, Iowa was her personal playground. She spent several days perfecting her zoomies on the fairway before the owner finally called Brett from the Corgi Rehab Sanctuary. Brett showed up expecting a Corgi… but surprise! Roux is definitely not a Corgi — so she joined us instead. Roux is a happy, playful girl who loves toys, fetch, and a good game of tug-of-war. When playtime is over, she’ll happily curl up in your lap for a nap (because being this cute is exhausting). She’s house and kennel trained, food motivated and learning her basic commands like a pro. Roux will need a physically fenced yard to safely practice her championship-level zoomies. One more thing — no cats, please. Roux thinks they’re part of the game, and the cats strongly disagree. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, smart, snuggly teammate, Roux is ready to trade the golf course for your backyard! Roux is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you would like to meet Roux, please complete the adoption application on our website: www.furfunrescue.org. If you have questions about Roux you can contact rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657. Adopters must be within a two-hour radius of Cedar Rapids, IA.  Indoor homes only.  Adoption fee $300.

Story
Meet Coco – Your Future Adventure Partner! Coco is a 2-year-old Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) with brains, beauty, and boundless energy to match. True to his breed, Coco is smart, driven, and always ready for his next job or adventure. He’s looking for a savvy adopter, ideally someone familiar with Heelers, who understands how important structure, training, and mental enrichment are for a dog like him. Once Coco trusts you, his sweet and loyal side truly shines. He forms strong bonds with his people and is incredibly rewarding for someone willing to put in the time to build that relationship. With his striking good looks and expressive face, it’s hard not to fall for him. Coco would do best in a home without small children, and he may be happiest as the only dog, where he can soak up all the attention and guidance he deserves. He thrives when given clear expectations, consistent routines, and outlets for his energy - think training sessions, enrichment games, and active days. Coco is part of our Paws Forward Program, meaning his future adopter will have 3 free training sessions post adoption with Janette from Kind K9s to help set him up for success. If you’re experienced, active, and looking for a loyal companion who will challenge you in all the best ways, Coco might be your perfect match. Come meet him and see if you’re the person he’s been waiting for. 🐾 Can't adopt? Please share!
