We list the pet’s breed as the one that best matches the physical appearance, and the pet may also be listed as a mix when it’s a purebred. Jessie is an 8-month-old female Red Heeler/Shepherd mix with the most adorable big ears and a heart full of potential. She came to us from down South after she and her littermates were found abandoned as tiny puppies. Thanks to the love and dedication of an amazing foster, Jessie is now safe, thriving, and ready to find her forever home. Jessie is still a timid girl, and chaotic environments, loud noises, and sudden movements can be scary for her. However, once she knows she’s safe and can trust you, her true personality begins to shine. With patience and understanding, Jessie becomes incredibly loving and affectionate. She adores snuggling, soaking up gentle pets, and will happily shower her favorite people with endless kisses. She’s still figuring out toys, but we’re confident that as her confidence grows in a loving home, her playful side will blossom too. Jessie does well with other dogs as long as they respect her space and boundaries. She currently enjoys playing with her sibling Jake and is learning how to engage with other dogs at her own pace. She also does well with cats and kids. Jessie is both potty-trained and crate-trained, making her transition into a new home even easier. She would do well in any home that’s willing to invest the time, patience, and care she needs to fully come out of her shell and learn that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. In return, Jessie will reward you with unwavering loyalty, gentle affection, and the sweetest companionship you could ever ask for.

Meet Roux, a 9-month-old, 22-pound Australian Cattle Dog mix who decided the golf course in Independence, Iowa was her personal playground. She spent several days perfecting her zoomies on the fairway before the owner finally called Brett from the Corgi Rehab Sanctuary. Brett showed up expecting a Corgi… but surprise! Roux is definitely not a Corgi — so she joined us instead. Roux is a happy, playful girl who loves toys, fetch, and a good game of tug-of-war. When playtime is over, she’ll happily curl up in your lap for a nap (because being this cute is exhausting). She’s house and kennel trained, food motivated and learning her basic commands like a pro. Roux will need a physically fenced yard to safely practice her championship-level zoomies. One more thing — no cats, please. Roux thinks they’re part of the game, and the cats strongly disagree. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, smart, snuggly teammate, Roux is ready to trade the golf course for your backyard! Roux is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested and microchipped.
