Story
Meet Zilla, a sweet boy who had a ruff start in life. When rescued, Zilla was very skinny and had some scrapes and scratches. Healthy now, Zilla loves playing with other dogs and lounging on the couch with the humans. Zilla's front legs didn't grow correctly when he was a baby, so he does wear out easily and will do best in a home without too many stairs. Although he can climb stairs slowly, he isn't a big fan of them. Zilla loves car rides and will happily ride around a store in the cart! He needs a little time to get used to other doggies but once he warms up he enjoys them. If you're looking for an affectionate easygoing companion, come meet Zilla! To meet him, go to waalrescue.org/adopt and fill out an application.

Story
Two years ago I started Trying to help out a temporarily unhoused individual who brought three female dogs into my home. I had no idea the dogs were each pregnant. Im trying to help the unhoused individual re-home 5 dogs that were born a year and six months ago. Chili does well with his brother Whiskey, and his Mom Zing-Zang. He is getting better at waiting to do his business outside, but still requires his human to give him business breaks every 4 to 5 hours. Im dealing with some health issues, so Im trying to get these dogs adopted out ASAP. There are no children or cats in my house, so I truly can not answer yes or no to those profile questions. Chili is fully vaccinated and has been neutered. He is intelligent, shy around strangers, and can be particular about his canine pals. He Love's to run and jump, and chase snowflakes in winter, and chase butterflies in summer!

She is a mother that knows how to keep her kids in line, but can be gentle and nurturing with them too. She very close to being kennel trained now, but needs a do her business break every 5 to 6 hours. If she barks while kenneled, it means she needs out, or it is close to dinner time. She is still a bit shy around strangers and strange dogs, but warms up to most people and to dogs her size.

Story
“Hey, my name is Dakota, which in Siouan means ‘friend’ (i think it accurately describes me, so does my owner). I am so friendly, energetic, loyal, and love to play and run! I love people and want to be just out of arms reach of them all the time. Whether im outside, sleeping in the bed, or snuggled on the couch, I am on alert and watching my herd at all times! I am crate-trained, housetrained, and have graduated from basic training. I am up-to-date on my rabies shot and I’m also neutered! I am happiest when I have lots of space to run free, have someone or something to play with, and have a job to do. I maybe am not the best dog for first-time dog owners or one without a yard. But, if you know anything about us heelers, that shouldn't be a surprise. If you know how to handle me and my big ole attitude, I will be the most loyal 4-legged friend you’ve ever had! I am so excited to find my new forever home!

He Likes to be near his humans and is fond of car rides where he can stick his head out the window.

Story
We have had Joey since he was a puppy, and he’ll be 8 in August. He’s true to his breed in being high energy, anxious, stubborn and full of love for his person. Unfortunately he has not adjusted well to us having our first child and we’ve had to keep him completely separate, which is just not fair to him at this point. He needs a home with no children, at least no small children, and no other pets. He needs a private space to run and play and burn some energy. He is house trained and had basic training as well as leash/walk training. We have unfortunately slacked on keeping up on those since having our son but he does great at getting right back into it with consistency. He’s an amazing dog, he just does best when he doesn’t have to share his person. He deserves a home he feels safe and at peace in and can have endless belly rubs.
