Story
Name: Maggie Age: 2 Years Gender: Spayed Female Weight: 50 pounds Breed: Heeler Mix Adoption Fee: $250 Am I good with: Kids: Yes Cats: Yes Dogs: Meet and Greet Required About Me: Hi, I'm Maggie, like the name suggests, I'm a classic, dependable girl with a spark of fun! I'm sweet as can be and still have a bit of pep in my step. I love spending time with my people, whether we're out for a walk or just hanging out together. I am heartworm positive, but don't worry, treatment is covered, and I'm already on the path to feeling better. I've got just the right mix of mellow and playful, and I'm ready to be your loyal companion through it all! I have been at the ARP since 6/27/25 and am currently at the rescue. The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.

Story
Did you know that the ivy plant is a symbol of everlasting life, devotion, fidelity and loyalty? An inspiring name for a charismatic pooch such as myself! Being the young lady that I am, an active family would be a match made in heaven! Play time is quite possibly my favorite time of day (sometimes I get a bit carried away with my plushy toys). I like to live life enthusiastically, having a positive direction for my gusto would be the ultimate delight for me! Although physical activity is an absolute riot, having a cool down period with some mental games is a good time too. At the end of the day, I just want to be involved with my people. I am not one to turn down a snuggle session by any means. What can I say, I am a sweetheart after all. I hope to find a family that wants to understand and accepts me for the glorious rescue dog that I am. For instance, I like some other dogs, but not every dog. Smaller dogs (and cats for that matter) remind me of chicken nuggets, I can't help but feel some prey drive there. But some other dogs my own size are fun to hang out and play with. I suppose that its pretty normal to not get along with everyone you meet in life though. Whether or not you are a botanical enthusiast, if you are looking for a forever companion submit your adoption application for the perfect furry addition! DOB: 5/25/2021 For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas. Please fill out our online adoption survey at www.mackenzies.info/adopt/adoption-survey-application/

Story
Meet Lola 🐄This beautiful looking cookies n cream monster is Lola, a cattle dog with the looks and energy to match. As she’s such a high energy dog, a big property or fenced in yard is simply a must for this sweet girl. She would also benefit from some proper training to channel all of that energy into. She likes playing with any and all toys offered, tennis balls seeming to be an absolute favorite. Lola likes having things to do and learn. Puzzle toys, Kong toys, learning new tricks - anything to keep her brain going. She would be perfect to learn some tricks and maybe even do some obstacle work or agility, should that be your fancy. Above all, Lola just loves to please her person. She loves having things to do and she loves doing them with people. If you’re looking to add a wonderfully smart and loyal dog into your life, Lola is your gal. 🐾

Story
Loki is a good dog. He is just to high energy for our family. We got him as a companion for our two year old child but he is bigger than expected and frequently knocks her over. Loki needs a home where he gets the attention he needs and has some room to run. I will relinquish Loki with his crate, bed and toys as well as the remainder of his food.

Story
Loki is a 7 month old mixed breed dog. He needs a home with a yard or someone who has the time and ability to exert his energy. We lack the resources and time to train him properly which is leading to bad behaviors. Loki has the potential to be a wonderful dog for someone who has the time and resources to invest in his future. Loki is neutered and up to date on all vet care. Will allow new owner to take his crate, remaining dog food, toys, and treats for no charge.

Texas is a very sweet boy that just needs a lot more time and attention than we can give him. A fenced in yard would be ideal, someone who has experience with Aussies and/or cattle dogs would be preferable. Please feel free to send me a message if you have any questions.
